Because you got screwed, does that give you the right to wipe the entire raid?

oh, and the group I was in voa for recently D/Ed a paladins T10 legs because the leader forgot to set it to master loot. my guildy was the only paladin in the raid, and almost
every member rolled disenchant for it
. pulled emalon and kolaron on them...
was it wrong? probably, but that was funny as hell and made trade chat fun the entire day.
And why didn't the paladin roll need?
he did. everyone else rolled need and d/ed it.
See underlined part.

I have done this - as a healer.
It wasn't me getting screwed though. We had a retpaladin in our group, level 63ish, in underbog.
The paladin starts to drink, and gets kicked because "DPS don't get to drink".
A warlock joined instead, i whispered him and said "Don't go into combat. You'll see why.", and continue to tell the blood DK tank to pull both the boss and the remaining groups.
"Have fun!"
leave group.

I think it's difficult to really put a hard and fast standard of okayness on these situations... I think they need to be handled on a case by case basis. I think ShinEmperor put it very well, above.
But if an individual has worked hard for the group, and the group screws him over? I don't think I
would
blame him for wiping the group. Maybe even if I were a member of the group. But then again, I tend to speak my mind, and I would at least try to right the wrongs. (And so, I might get down-DKP'ed, and screwed myself)
I try not to put myself into situations with individuals who will do this sort of thing to me. But when it still happens? Honestly? The attitude of some of these individuals is:
- I'll never, ever see you again, so there are zero consequences to my behavior.
- We're not level 80, so it doesn't matter if I jerk around and keep doing X. (So friggin' what?)
- You're not a member of our guild, so I don't owe you anything for coming in and helping us.
- I'm the Master Looter and -- guess what? The Swift Zulian Tiger just dropped. MINE. No arguments, please. I'm the Master.
- yadda, ad infinitum, ad nauseum.
There are times where, especially when I'm on my healer, I can MAKE people feel the consequences of their actions. Is that immature of me? Or is it me trying to teach them a valuable lesson, that they cannot mistreat others or act like idiots with impunity?
I honestly think it all comes down to how the individuals, in those individuals situations, handle things before they do whatever they do. Whether they even attempted to resolve the situation ahead of time. And whether they care about maintaining good relations (or burning bridges) with people who are already screwing themselves over.
Bullies learn best that it's better to NOT be a bully, when someone turns around and pops 'em in the nose. Because usually, they think they can get away with what they do. And often, the already have gotten away with what they've done, X number of times. Other people may be more restrained and civilized than themselves, and they can get away with what they're doing those X number of times, and thereby gain positive reinforcement for their stupid behavior. People have to learn, sooner or later, that we ALL benefit when we are ALL considerate of one another.
And as someone pointed out so well above? Those who may be less of a player in the drama of these situations are still giving tacit approval to bad behavior by their silence. The longer this sort of thing goes on, the more it removes them from "innocent" status.

I did that yesterday, although not a raid - heroic Nexus.
If you mess up my achievement, you will suffer the consequences.
achievement.
heheheheh.
DPS: Sorry, couldnt interrupt that last cast.
You: U GUSUY DIDENT DO ACHEFMINT RDWORAU*(*#@#$@
DPS: Wtf?
Yuo: SHUT UP I WIEP U NAO
actually it went like this.
Hi, I'm the tank I get instant queues. We are taking the middle route for the achievement. If you mess up, I will pull and leave.
10 seconds into the fight, achievement messed up.
Pull 3 packs, shadowmeld, instant wipe.
Did that 4 times until group died.
Had to go through 8 groups until we got it.
You, my friend, are an ass clown.

They had the choice to...
a.) do the achievement properly.
b.) leave
I'm awfully curious if you even explained the achievement in-depth, or if you left them flailing, and then reviled against them when it didn't quite happen.
I've been making incremental progress towards
Glory of the Hero
. (and my first Proto-Drake, hopefully) Not explaining things well enough and, well, the fact that Bad Things can and do occur (including, idiotic bugs in the subachievements), means you often have to attempt something more than once before you will get it.
With all that you have posted, it seems pretty clear that you use your clout and leverage as the Tank in order to abuse other people when things don't always go your way. It's also clear that you are Alliance, given your use of Shadowmeld. And so, I'm awfully relieved that I'll never end up in a 5-man with you.
This is exactly why I rerolled Horde.

Not gonna read the mounds of QQing before me to find any gems of logic so I'll just say this:
Griefing is what the OP describes. It is against ToS, therefor you do not have the right to play this game if you are found griefing. Your 'right' to play is given by Blizzard when you
both
pay the fee to play and play by the rules.
If in the circumstance you were robbed of your item, and thereby had a hissyfit, it would be investigated if you were infact 'robbed' of said item through a process not legal within the games ToS and you may receive restitution, but more realistically you will be punished for that as
WELL
as your hissyfit. Two wrongs do not make a right, they make you a !@#$ing immature jackass.*
It is that simple.
*unless done with friends to laugh about weeks later, and that only makes you a dbag.

Just a favor to those of us who value our eyes:
I wiped the group once in a Deadmines random. One member was my friend who got mad and left, while the other logged, and the last two were jerks: the priest aggrod a boss and faded which I didn't notice, and I shot it and it attacked me and killed me. The priest didn't rez me and I asked why and she said I was being a %$#@. But I never did anything so I found my corpse aggord to tunnels and 2 bosses, then ran to them and left and left them to die. I felt very satisfied afterward. So if u get screwed and you did nothing and the people left are jerks, just do yourself a favor and screw them.
Wiping the group is one thing, subjecting them to
that
is another. Never any call for that.

There's a pretty serious "blacklist" on my server. There are about 4-5 players who if they are advertising a group in trade at least SOMEONE will say "FYI: group with _____ at your own risk. They ninja items and are proud of it."
I have been in a group with a loser who was mad over loot. It was fairly rolled for according to the loot rules set up at the beginning and fairly lost. After he tried to wipe the group I looked on an unofficial realm forum and found that this was a habit of his (griefing raids over stupid stuff).
What goes around comes around, and if you make a habit of making others' game experiences miserable, it will catch up with you.
