I am having the same issue as Boomi, constantly updating files at launch.
Upload stops at 86% of 367.5kb
I deleted the cache files in the wowhead looter, so I have no Shared Data Cache, just Account-Specific Data, of which I cant figure out how to delete or I would to see if I have a corrupt data-file.
Client: 1.70
Windows 7 64-bit
Edit: Logfile from the client
Thanks for using the Wowhead Client!
This is version 1.7.0, built on September 7, 2010.
Compatible with Wrath of the Lich King.
Upload failed: Server timeout.

Same issues here:
- It always downloads and updates tot wowhead add on data (.lua files and such)
- It times out on uploading the gathered data
The error message I get is "Wowhead is unable to process your upload at this time. Please try again in a bit!". I moved my (7.5MB) itemcache.wdb to another folder but the problem persists.
The only line in the log file after the error is "Upload failed: Server timeout."
This is with version 1.7.0

I am having the same problem was well, but my upload bar doesn't move at all.
I've tried removing the cache items in Cache/WDB/enUS but that didn't do anything. I tried removing the "+Wowhead_Looter" folder from Interface/Addons. The only thing that changed was that the client downloaded 9 files instead of 4. After downloading 9 files, it went back to continually downloading 4.
Log:
Thanks for using the Wowhead Client!
This is version 1.7.0, built on September 7, 2010.

Upload failed: Server timeout.
OS: Windows XP Service Pack 3, 32-bit
Thanks for looking into this.

when i opened it, it started updating the client, displayed "update complete" and then when I try and upload I get
Thanks for using the Wowhead Client!
This is version 1.7.0, built on September 7, 2010.
Compatible with Wrath of the Lich King.
Upload failed: Server timeout.
and when I check for updates, it downloads updates again, like if it didn't update when I opened it even though it shows update complete

Same issue here as the people above (always downloading the 4 files, uploads failing). Judging by the number of people reporting it, there's something seriously wrong with it that needs to be addressed.
Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit here.

Same problem here.
Running XP SP3, with client 1.7.0.
Turn my PC on and Wowhead updates 4 files (or at least attempts to) all seems to work, I launch WoW and then when I close WoW it tries to upload, but fails after the second segment (68% of 186.8Kb).
I checked my Firewall and exceptioned Wowhead there and tried the upload again. This time it did seem to go further but failed at the next stage anyway.
I would love to be able to continue to contribute to Wowhead Database.

Same problem. I even tried uploading with nothing in the enUS folder, and it still says "Upload failed: Server timeout." The client worked the first few times I tried uploading. I also re-downloaded the client since this issue arose and it still timed out on the first use.

As others have seen, I'm running the 1.7.0 client on W7/64 and get the same 4 files updating each time I open it. When I try to upload I get the following:

I've found a solution that worked, for me at least. I spotted this in another post chain on an older problem and gave it a try.
Go into the options and uncheck the "upload character data" option, then upload. It worked fine, I then went in and re-checked the upload character data and it continues to work. Someone in the other post speculated that there was some corrupt data in the character data.

That worked for the upload, but introduced another problem. After unchecking the "Character Data" box, it uploaded just fine. But now there's nothing on the screen under Account-Specific Data, and the Upload button is greyed out. Rechecking the Character Data box did nothing. Restarting the program did nothing. Updating the program did nothing. And when I go into my Wowhead account on the site, most of the individual character info doesn't display.
Edit: I tried logging in and doing /wl collect, and was able to upload again after logging out. This worked after rechecking the Character Data box. I'm gonna try doing it with my other characters. I read in another thread that it might have something to do with the Cataclysm events going on right now, and the character that I tested with hasn't done those yet, so I'll be back in a few after another test.
Edit the Second: After doing a /wl collect on a character that HAS done Zalazane's Fall, the upload still works. I don't believe that it's a problem with those quests, or possibly not directly. More likely my problem was just some corrupt character data, as mentioned in the post above me.
