We just pushed made version 1.6.5 available for download on the
Wowhead Client
page. Your existing client will not auto-update as we want to make sure this new version works without hosing existing users. Please remove your current version, download the new one, and give it another go.

I was having this problem recently. Upon searching for the issue, AVG's linkscanner was mentioned to have had compatability problems that where fixed in April. However, disabling the linkscanner instantly gave the first successful upload since May. Might be worth trying out for AVG users.
Here's the log in which linkscanner was disabled between attempts:

Is anyone else having this issue using AVG Linkscanner?

I am and when I disabled linkscanner, it started to at least try to upload. It then stopped while trying to upload more then 200k
Windows 7. Client version 1.6.5. Running as a user.
EDIT: I just deleted my cache dir (To get the file size down it was stopping about uploading about 220k) and renabled link scanner and I am still working.
*confused*

Hey guys, I just published a new version of the Client (version 1.6.6). Could you please give it a try? It should fix the big itemcache.wdb bug.

Using client 1.6.6.
Have been trying for the past couple of days or so to upload, but I get the same error message:
"Wowhead is unable to process your upload at this time.
Please try again in a bit!"
This happens after a compressed file of 1.2MB goes through anywhere from 25% to 96% of its progress bar.
And in the separate Data Cache Types, all the things are in KB sizes, except for Items, which are at 17045 Count and 7.5 MB size.
It's been several months since I played, and I started again fairly recently.
Hope this helps.

Upload failed: Data transfer timeout.
Same issue I've been having for months. I'm able to upload very very small amounts of data (i.e. fresh installs), but if the file size gets too large, which happens when the client doesn't upload data on WoW exit (which happens when that checkbox is enabled, another bug perhaps?).
EDIT: A new development: I delete my WoW cache folder and it uploaded immediately. Although, I'm assuming that only uploaded my character data and any collected cache information was deleted.
I've narrowed this problem down to the size of the file and upload speed. Possibly an error in coding somewhere causing the client to automatically timeout after 10 seconds regardless of whether or not data is sent.
And incase you need it, heres my success log: (it doesn't say much though)
Socket status change: connecting...
Socket status change: sending auth request...
Socket status change: receiving response...
Socket status change: connection completed.
Socket status change: reset.
Socket status change: connecting...
Socket status change: sending upload request...
Socket status change: receiving response...
Socket status change: connection completed.
Upload succeeded!
Another EDIT: I decided to undelete my WoWcache folder and tried to reupload it, with success! By sending the files in 2 different batches - one of my character data, and the other of just my cache data, it liked the smaller files sizes. As you can see from the first log, the file size isn't very big originally (168kb). My internet connection speed uploads at 10kb/s (128kbit) and downloads at 52kb/s (512kbit). From that, it should take 16 seconds to upload, but it times out at the 10 second point, and it seems to do that for most logs that I see in this post.

Interesting! I've noticed the Client was kinda spazzing out when trying to upload gigantic files. My client stopped uploading automatically upon closing the Client, too. I deleted my 'Cache' folder, too, then launched the Wowhead Client and successfully uploaded my character data.
I then undeleted the folder tried to upload again, but the client timed out at 96% of 1.0M, "Wowhead is unable to process your upload at this time. Please try again in a bit."

Socket status change: done. (failed: 0/0 | 1078847:0)

Upload failed: Server timeout.
I then deleted JUST my itemcache.wdb, and uploaded data (with no character-specific data present). Transfer successful! 100% of 238.2 KB.
However, if I undelete the itemcache.wdb then upload again, I timeout at 93% of 815.4 KB.

Deleting everything BUT the itemcache.wdb and then trying to upload times out again.
The actual itemcache.wdb file is 6,019 KB and the Client doesn't seem happy about that.(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##Miyari##DELIM##
