Is it just me or do some tanks/healers have big egos?

Hey guys, I finally decided to talk about this in the forums, because last night topped it off for me. I've only been playing WoW for going two months, and the first class I leveled was an orc hunter. During my time leveling my hunter, I came across a lot of tanks who had huge egos. Some of these tanks honestly felt like they could take whole instances by themselves. I have also came across tanks who get #$%^ed if you tell them to speed up or if you pull a monster or two
to them.
I figured out that it wasn't just me playing on a hunter when I started to level a paladin. I actually enjoyed tanking and healing while leveling as a paladin. As I mentioned, last night topped it off for me, because I decided to play ret, and the healer let me die on purpose just because I made a 5th grade joke at him that wasn't even insulting. What made it even worse is that I was doing over 40% of the group's damage, but he rather let me walk all the way back to blackrock and waste everyone else's time. I have had many problems with tanks and healers and their egos, and I wanna know what the deal is.
Is it just me or do some individuals who tank and heal often have some kind of superiority complex going on?

No hes the ass.
When I'm tanking I pull at a speed and the size I know I can handle to make sure mobs don't go sprinting off towards other members of the group. I hate when people pull extra monsters because 90% of the time I have a rotation and if I'm 50% through my rotation I may not have Thunderclap to grab a few extra and I cant guarantee cleave will hit them. If you don't like my speed or how many monsters I pull leave I don't care. But if you grab a group
ON PURPOSE
expecting me to grab them off of you I will let you die then pick them up.
And honestly I a tank and a healer as long as they know what they're doing could duo whole instances. They don't because it could take a while but it can be done.
TL;DR Your a jackass get off my nuts I pull a certain way to keep you alive and if you think you could do better either do it, keep doing what your doing and I let you die or shut up

I think every class has people with huge ego's. That said, I have a dear friend who plays a tank and when we group he is constantly showing off his god complex. He's my friend, but he is one egotistical man. Anyway, like I said, I think it's a person thing, not a tank/healer thing. You probably notice the tanks and healers who are jerks more than the others because you have it decided in your mind that it's a tank/healer problem.

ye i know how you feel, just gonna give ya my 2 cents
many tanks and healers are owners of a way to big ego. Of course its understandable that they want respect over the fact that their a bit more important than the dps (induvidually that is, like 1 tank > 1 healer > 1 dps or so as far as i know hehe). But some...no alot take it way past that.
i play resto/ele sham, prot/ret pally, hunter and did play rogue. So i know about every type of role and know how each can act more or less. For example when i heal or tank ill state what i "want" in a pug (dont take it like i mean im the guy telling everyone how to act. Just as saying dont MD pull on me, or dont chain pull etc. Ya know in a friendly way ;)
anyways as Adamsm described so well, people are asses. Some just stink worse than other ;-)

So you get upset if someone pull a couple of trash monsters? Not a mob, but 1 or 2 trash pulls? So you need to go through a whole rotation for that? I'm not talking about a mob in my post. I never said I grabbed groups of monsters on purpose. Reread my post. I never said anything about your speed nor was I referring to you. You aren't the only one who tanks, so don't try to make it seem like I am in a illogical fallacy here.
If you don't like it stop QQing and roll a healer or tank.
Actually, I am dual specced for holy and ret, and I level most of my time as healer, and I had no problem whatsoever healing.

Yes most tanks have a rotation they do each pull. On my warriors its charge thunderclap back up shockwave cleave away. On my DK its DnD IT PS Pest HB BB BB OB. Notice how the warrior has Tclap and Shockwave both on cooldown at a similar time so yes at that moment I wont be able to grab "1 or 2 trash pulls"
And The point is your complaining about the way the tank is working.
I have also came across tanks who get #$%^ed if you tell them to speed up or if you pull a monster or two

.
I get $%^&ed if a dps asks me to pull faster because If i pull bigger groups on my warrior cleaveing moving and Tclap can only do so much. So yes your telling tanks to speed up makes me angry and offends me. It may not be me specifically your speaking of but you only see your one sided view. Your not thinking Well what would the tank do if I grabbed these extra monsters?
End of story your not doing what your supposed to do. Your not in charge of pulling or the pace the group is set at so stop complaining. They don't have big egos your just doing the wrong thing.
PS: Not that some tanks dont have big egos I just think what he is refering to is his own faults and not his tanks.

You said yourself that you tried tanking while leveling. Would YOU like a trigger-happy dps to get more mobs when you're focusing on one pack already? Would it not be better if people would just wait a sec or two for you to gather up a pack, dps it down, rinse/repeat?
Let's face it, at the end of the day all dps are expendable as far as dungeons/heroics go.
Tanks are a luxury, healers a commodity, dps are a given.
The tank and the healer are the only things that stand between you and death, they're perfectly entitled to their egos because they chose to fulfill those roles that you, as a dps, haven't.
It was said in an earlier post, a tank and a healer can duo mostly anything, it just takes longer.
If you're too impatient to wait for the tank or feel the desperate urge to taunt/annoy a healer, then good luck finding a group that will tolerate it. Otherwise shut up, have a bit of patience, and go with the flow.

EDIT - Hint to DPSers - if you see adds coming in the middle of a pull, stop AoEing. Give the tank a few seconds to build threat on the new adds. then resume AoE. If you just keep your AoE going, then the tank will have a harder time.Unless your a hunter; I usually hit a tank with MD and volley them onto the tank, but only if it's an add pack or a patrol that's going to walk into the tank himself.

My own faults? It is annoying when a tank is inconsiderate about others' time just how it is bad when dpsers can't do enough dps to kill mobs efficiently. Last time I checked, the group as a whole controls the pace of the group and not just the tank. When push comes to shove, if the tank sits around and stares at each mob for like 5 secs before he engages them then yeah, there is going to be a problem with that.
I never pull aggro off the tank intentionally. Actually, I make sure that I attack the tank's target, and sometimes, I do more than what I'm supposed to do by pulling aggro off healers and other spellcasters when I notice the tank isn't going to do it or doesn't notice. I never constantly pull monsters if the tank isn't going fast enough. I hardly ever do it.
