Is it just me or do some tanks/healers have big egos?

I find that tanks and healers do seem to have a superiority complex, not all but a lot. Soo to fix this I rolled a tank and my husband a healz. We generally run with our guild (we're still leveling) but if not in a PuG I know what he can handle healing me so I can pull big, plus it helps that we can communicate being in the same room. If he doesn't think I'm pulling enough or he's gettng bored he'll pull more which is okay with me because we are communicating! What I have became to hate more is when DPS tell a tank how to do their job, or decide to run in and pull things then ask why I'M not tanking! My main is a heals/DPS priest and I ended up going DPS in PuGs and healz only for those I know or in rare occassions because of the stereotype that healz/tanks have egos I usually get yelled at or started on before the instance even starts, too much drama for me so I prefer to DPS!

And this is why we form guilds.
To run with the tank, healer, and dps that know their class. Instead of the idiots who are just here for the gear and think you owe them something.

Healers and Tanks tend to have giant egos because they're practically the backbone and liver of the group: you can't survive without them. So that gives them the illusion that they're the boss, and they can command the rest of the group around.

I came across a lot of tanks who had huge egos.
Some of these tanks honestly felt like they could take whole instances by themselves
.
....
As I mentioned, last night topped it off for me, because I decided to play ret, and the healer let me die on purpose just because I made a 5th grade joke at him that wasn't even insulting. What made it even worse is that
I was doing over 40% of the group's damage
,
Uhhhh, irony? What do you call that? Pot calling the kettle black? There is a phrase for this, I can't seem to think of the perfect one to describe the contradiction here.
If I recall correctly, tanks worry about keeping threat so the dps roles can do their jobs. What is that on a Paly? Protection spec?

Naahh, that's unrealistic. Maybe highly geared tank/healer running lower end dungeons. Otherwise there will be wipes and long delays for the healer between fights. Could they do it? Maybe with persistance, but dps isn't just along for the ride.
