I'm currently lvl 68 on my BE paladin. Using ok gear, mostly greens, some blues and Cristaline Kopesh.
my, my...
warrior weapon is not so great...
In low levels, i tried holy, respeced to ret, tried Rekabution, tried Shockadin, and ended up with protection.
Problem: low level play and high level play are completely different, I would suggest trying those builds once again to see how it goes
2 - Prot is completely worthless in pvp, and is a pain in the ass to level in Pve outside of instances.
Try AoE grinding, I had a healer with me 90% of the time so instancing was easy for me, but in the 10% I didn't have a healer I AoE'd mobs, try the creeps in SMV
3 - Ret is weak in pvp, weak in pve and worthless in raids, if you consider you can take addition real dps instead of a ret paladin.... And even if i go Ret to burst-own some cloth classes, a Fury warrior can eat me with chopsticks.
2 things wrong with this: this is QQ, and you have no idea what you're talking about, ret paladins fare well in PvP and my guild has a couple to boost raid DPS
However, more and more i feel that i can't do anything in pvp with my paladin, cause everything else will own me.
again, QQ and lack of knowledge
prot paladins own melee hands down, i have taken down rogues, MS and fury (and prot lol) warriors, enchance shamans, ret paladins, kitty druids
casters will kite you to death, but that's to be expected
What i'm missing on this thing is some burst damage and some more versatility. I like tanking in raids/inis
sadly, specialization means specialization, it lacks a lot of versatility... question is, how do you know you like tanking in raids at level 68?
i dont want a monster burst damage dealer, but i want something that can outlast my enemies and in the end of a (maybe very long) battle, win.
reck/ret, or Rekadin as you put it, but you won't be able to tank raids
This is how i created all my paladins in all the other games i played and was really successfull in that sense. I'm just looking for the same thing here. If that's not available with palas, please, gimme some light to what i should re-roll. Or wait for death knight. Or whatever.
sadly, there's a huge gap in PvE and PvP for paladins in WoW, best i could recommend is making a feral druid according to your specifications.

Holy paladins are 70 are VERY valuable. Many arena teams look for Holy paladin, simply because they can:
-survive more than 2 attacks by a rogue/warrior
-heal fast, heal efficiently, heal big amounts
-add different resists to the combat through auras
-bubble self and others
-bless depending on the class
If you duel Holy paladin, you'll find yourself in one of your longest battles ever. Heals you can't interrupt with normal attacks, lots of HP, mana regen, and of course plate armor. Valuable in both PvP and PvE, although of course, requiring different items.
Protection paladins, one of them - myself, are indeed the favorite thing of a caster. Because we just can't beat them the way we beat everything else. They kite us, we can't inflict enough damage to kill them before they kill us, and we rarely can outlast their mana pools. But, hey, melee classes beat themselves to deat in our (holy) shields. But PvE, 5mans and even raids - we make wonderful offtank in the 25mans (or even main sometimes), and one of the best main tanks in the 5mans.
Retribution paladins can indeed hardly beat a fury/arms warrior or rogue on the DPS table, but they have a good advantage - mana pool and holy damage. Heavily armored mobs don't like holy damage. Vindication and Eye for an Eye, as well as all the mana preservation talents allow you to damage any mob pretty badly. Yes, you'll probably have to save your mana on boss fights, or drink after normal pulls, but the damage output is easily close to a warrior's.
Don't get yourself down with the paladin. Every class hates something about themselves. Warriors and rogues don't really have anything against runners, except a little slow. And they can't heal themselves, which is pretty big advantage on our side.

LOL! I'm holy spec. I must say, it's funny as hell when I get 2 or 3 pvp toons that don't have good stuns on me(aka-war, druid, and non macespec rogues). I've grinded 5 toons with flag guards in AV and survived for a good 3-4 mins, which was enough time for reinforcements to get there and take down the toons tryin to kill me while they capped RH. Nothing is better then being good at your class and having the gear to keep yourself out of trouble. I absolutely despise grinding as holy, for sure. But even without full s1 gear, I can solo the escort quest with ease, and do pretty good burst damage in PVP with judgement of righteousness and holy shock. I wear down those melee classes with flash heals, and when they are about 1/4 hp, I go to town on em with my burst dps, I'm sure they just looked at their hp and are thinking, "OMG!!!!" Love for the 2k or more instant dps followed by a 1200 normal blow with my hammer on any toon reguardless how well armored it is. =) After a couple minutes of grinding their hp, they suddenly get the shock they deserve for not knowing their enemy(punn intended). My burst dps at the end of a match in 2v2 has made quite a few matches, and made it way easier to slay that pesky MS war that just doesn't die... Burst dps is what makes a holy pali so valuable in arena. Heal while waiting, then burst dps a toon that isn't expecting to die just yet. With vengence on, I can burst 4k on a plate wearer and sit back and heal afterwards, or stun him and wait for cd's to come off and burst again with vengence still on. As holy, you can very much solo grind group mobs, but not nearly as effectively as prot palis. I'm hoping to get my arena team up to spec as holy, and then once i get full vengeful, grind for ret gear. I can guarantee you, ret isn't going to make you happy untill you get some uber gear. Ret is completely gear based. If you don't have the gear, you don't have the DPS, and you won't be happy with it until you get that gear up to par.
LOL! Tie raid! I hope all that made sense and isn't repetative... But, I can tell you, with the burst dps, as holy, you can kill stuff. You can not kill a healer class, but they can't kill you either. I've killed many toons as holy. It's kind of a black sheep way of killing tho. Consecration and flash heal until you have done enough damage to burst em to death before dieing yourself. If a dps doesn't have the gear to out dps my flash heals, they are as good as dust since I can keep up the consecrate/flash heal combo for a good 5 or 6 mins without going oom.
