I out healed a druid with a GS of about 5300 with my alt priest with a GS of about 4500. He then whispered me and goes "noob why you making me look bad?"
...really?
Gs means nothing.

He then whispered me and goes "noob why you making me look bad?"
lol healpeen? He's obviously the noob if you're outhealing him =P
And yeah, I've got a pretty huge example of "GS means nothing". Back in 3.0, there was this rogue in my guild in almost all 213 gear...pulling 600 DPS in Naxx25. =/ I suspect he ebayed his character, because he was asking what the rotation was, and whether Mutilate was better than SS, ect. Even after that, he didn't even break 2k, even on Patchwerk.
Skill > GS, definitely.

I've updated my signature to reflect this GS trend. Fitting, no?

DK's don't have as much snap threat as other tanks (with the exception of Frost, HB is nice) but they have plenty of AoE abilities. It has to do with the majority of Death Knights being Deathtards -
the class is quite effective if you know how to play it.

druid healer and a mage in a 5 man i did on my alt the other day:
healer: "What do you think, mana grows on trees?"
mage: "you didnt even heal me once"
healer: "well if you are getting hit and die then it's your fault for pulling aggro, not mine"
mage: "..........they do aoe damage"
healer: "well my job is to heal the tank, not the dps, if i'm feeling lucky ill heal you too"
I then inspected the druid, found them to be full kitty speced with kitty gear
me: "do you have a healing spec/gear?"
Healer: "lol no, just marked healer to get a quick que but if you all l2p we'd be fine"
kicked them, got a new healer, did just fine
D'oh!
It's one thing to be feral specced but have healing gear, it's something else when said druid doesn't even have healing gear.
That's like a paladin trying to tank with a 2-hander.

Pugged in to a ICC 10man raid last week
The leader was more or less spamming trade channel with "LF 2 healers and a ranged dps for ICC 10man"
So ye, I asked to join the group as healer, and the leader soon wrote "LF 2 healers for ICC 10man"
At this point i was like wtf? asked him if he wanted me to heal or not (I had informed him several times that i was a disc priest)
Him: "No you dps"
Seiously one of the dumbest raid leaders i have seen so far

on the other side, there is also the kind of dps-pug who sees the red glowing from DnD just before the second tick get through and thinks "good to go", starts smashing keys and screams "...hell yeah, AoE party!" while dancing halfnaked holding the keyboard like a guitar, but this is another story...
Sorry, but great imagery there,
oh and also good stuff about tanking as DK in there, thanks for the input. One problem I see though is that "awesome" threat abililty, they dont get until 67, or just before they get into northrend....I imaging most DK's have tanked successfully before then and so dont understand how the need to use this single target ability to hold threat....

I currently have 3 healers. A paladin, offspec-tree, and a priest at lvl 30 (leveling).
I consider myself quite knowledgable in the ways of the holy paladin.
I don't consider myself a pro when healing with the tree, but i do know the mechanics.
I am a noob when it comes to priest healing, but im learning.
This is my story(/wall of text):
Someone in trade calls "LF1M raid healer for VoA10". I log my druid and whisper.
In the group are 7 people from the same guild. 1 DK tank, 2 paladin healers and 4 dps. I think "Oh nice. Smooth run." I should not have done that.
First of all, the guild-tank insists on being MT, even tho he is about 3-4k hp less than the pug. Fine, both tanks will probably take equal amounts of damage, so i choose not to care, but this discussion takes about 4-5 minutes.
For some reason, the raidleader desides we should do Koralon first. "Fine" i think, i'll risk beeing saved for Koralon.
We get into the fight and i start healing the raid. I blanketheal the raid, but i notice tanks taking alot of damage, so i throw some extra heals at them. Douring Meteor Fists i go all out on tanks, but even so, one tank dies. I battleres him, heal away, but the other tank dies. Screams of agony and despair follows as we are crushed by the entity knowns as Koralon.
I make a quick check on recount, and as i suspected, i had done about 43% of the healing. I check the healing by the paladins, and none of them was using Holy Light. Not a single holy light cast by any of them douring the entire fight. So i tell the raid "Hm.. No Holy Lights at all?". Im not particulary fond if the FoL-spam tactic for healing, but even so, you need holy lights to keep tanks up in the Koralon fight. I did not say that, just the previous.
But as i soon find out, not only Koralon emits flames! I promptly get flamed by one of the paladins:
Raid healing was not enough. Stay of the tanks, and do your job you noob!
I go: "Whaaat?". And try to explain that noone in the raid died. The tanks died first.
The flaming continues, as he explains to me that the paladins had to heal the raid because i did not, and thats why the tanks died. They both blame me for the wipe. I needed to read up on my class, l2p, stop beeing a n00b etc. etc.
The pug tank promptly left, followed by the pug dps. Then people from their own guild started leaving the raid. I really hope they got their ears handed to them in guildchat.
Afterwards, i checked recount a bit more, and saw that the paladin that started flaming me had been hit several times by Meteor Fists (!), and that the raid had been hit by Meteor Fists alot more than the pug-tank.

I was in brd with a pretty awfull group, and while the healer was good and kept us up, the fights were just awfully long due to horrible dps. Then the group leader suddenly says to me "omfg noob you're not a dps build" (I use
Enerziger
) and kicked me out of the group before I could say a word. I looked at recount, and it turns out I was on 1st place with 43% damage done and 49% dps of the entire group (never having pulled any aggro I couldn't handle fyi- I do care about that). Second place was the tank, third
the healer!
. But appearently I was the only one with recount because the majority obviuosly agreed with the kick.
Yes, the build is 28 points in holy. But before you judge at least read the talents ><' I'm top damage done/dps 9/10 times so "not a dps build" my ass!
...that Paladin might have a point, if you had kept the raid topped off, they wouldn't have had to heal the raid...
....if those Paladins weren't both using their beacon (each on a different tank), they failed bad and if they were, they could've healed the tanks while also healing the raid...
You're contradicting yourself =p
And I agree on the second part. Not the first. My main is a holy pally, and I know from experience that if the pallies were keeping beacon & sacred shield up and were using all of the available healing spells instead of just spamming 1, there was no reason whatsoever that they would actually need a 3rd (raid)healer on voa10. That being the case, I strongly believe they knew they sucked and wanted the 3rd healer only to take the fall (either save their day or get the blame).
I've worked together with trees before (2m healing), and usually they fill up the gaps that fall when I'm casting a holy light (or just healing another person atm). It takes a lot of the stress off of me, instead of adding to it like these two seem to claim. With another pally added to the mix like in this case, there shouldn't have been any problems at all.
Ofcourse we all had healbot, which makes cooperation a lot easier.

but when in a PuG, if you are assigned to do something, do it, then, if the tanks die, it won't be by your fault,
So basically, don't try to pick up others slack, because you might get a share of the blame if you do?
If everyone did that, pugs would be even more fail than they already are..
And, they did not need to heal the raid. I kept everyone alive. The thing is they probably paniced when he used his raidwide flamebreath, but there is plenty of time for the HoTs to heal people up in between the breaths, but i guess they could not cope with peoples bars beeing yellow instead of green.
I do agree tho, i should have reacted when 2 paladins ask for a raidhealer for VoA10.

LFM 2 tanks 2 healers good DPS guild run no achiv/GS no reply
This guy tried to coerce people to join for more than an hour. Looks like everyone took advantage of the 'no reply' part.
