Well we stopped in for a visit last night and it didn't go as well as planned.
The orbs are the problem. We know that the ranged dps should take them since mele are going to take a lot of damage. Correct assumption?
The ranged were saying they are going out of range and this and that. I was a resto shammy so could a Frost shock slow them down? ( I thought about this but not sure) Anything else to deal with them and take them down quickly?
Of course one problem is the normal DEEPS BS.
The lead said HEY there are 2 dps still on the boss....I guess they were only worried about their DEEPS or just stupid. (2 mages)
anyway is there a good way to deal with the orbs..?

The good way is the one you posted, have the ranged switch to the orbs. If they fail to do so and only think about meters, kick and replace with better ones.

thanks I noticed in the post on him in the database everyone said there are no slows or anything that will work on the orbs so that is out.
We just need the dps to get them down quick.

In 10 man the fight is very straight forward as there is only one orb at a time. In 25 its gets crowded. You can soon have 25 people trying to avoid 3 or more orbs. Ranged should definitely focus on the orbs. A strat that worked for us was to have ranged make use of the corridor. A hunter would stay up the hall and another dranged would be in the room. The hunter tries to pull agro, using distracting shot if needed. As the orb closes, he feigns. Meanwhile the other dps is hammering away. orb tennis :)

As stated, ranged need to be on orbs. Tanked a 25m with only 3 ranged dps, that was rough. Over half the raid ended up dead, but at least we got the kill! I think one of the healers kited an orb for a bit too... not too sure though, I was watching debuff stacks on me and the other tank most of the time, lol.
