Title pretty much says it all. I'm curious, it feels like bashing my head against the wall. Don't mean to hate on all the PvE lovers, I really just want to know what keeps you all compelled. PvP is the only thing that has kept me coming back for the last year or so.

PvE is appealing to some people just like PvP is appealing to you. I enjoy the lore, the epic boss fights and the sense of accomplishment after defeating hardmodes.
This.

Because WoW is a PVE game. A PRetty good one too you should check it out. I usually will PVP in PVP games but I wouldnt try to PVE in a PVP game and ask everyone why they PVP.

I will admit I am compelled by the lore. I just can't seem to justify following a rotation for hours on end. The act of standing still and buttonmashing seems...mindnumbing.

I checked it out for the first two years of playing. I didn't realize that the line had been drawn.

If you're standing still and button-mashing, you're doing it wrong.
I could say the same thing towards PvP: The act of fighting the same fights over and over again, season after season seems... mindnumbing.
In arenas, you are forced to adapt. There are endless strategies you can employ, and an endless amount of opposition you can face. I don't see where the thrill comes from in a scripted encounter past the RNG. There is a strategy that is followed time after time, and sometimes you move outside of fire.

In raids, you are forced to adapt. There are endless ways you can mess up something like Firefighter, and it demands absolute perfection from EVERYONE. Plus, you need to keep your raid time organised and motivated. I don't see where the thrill from facing ANOTHER RMP team in arena comes from, personally. All you do is CC that guy and blow up the other guy. Every time.
PvP is repetetive in it's own right just as PvE is. Both aspects require their own sets of skills, and most people will generally prefer one over the other.
I for example, can't stand PvP. And I admit, I'm not particularly good at it either. I have no incentive to get better at it, because PvP lacks any real accomplishments to aim for beyond the gladiator mount. You (The OP) I presume are poor/mediocre at PvE. If you had raided ICC you'd know there's a bit more involved than merely not standing in fire and smashing your rotation over and over. :)
I understand where you are coming from. In fact, it was being at the top of PvE that made me stop. I haven't raided since the first wing of ICC was the only thing that was open. I raided every piece of content that was available from BC to WoTLK, and a bit in vanilla. To each their own, I guess.

I still pve because i like playing with my guild the lore compells me and the artwork is well, infinitely better.
PvP is (tho adaptable) very similair in every occasion. Its really quite boring imo and there (imo) alot more ppl around in a pvp environment who run around qqing about this class cant beat that class and 'wtf i lost to this class therefore they need nerf'

Your Orc Warrior disagrees.
But yes, to each their own.
You didn't look at my Priest. I guess you are right though, I am missing the Illidan achievement. Never quite got to him.

PvP takes skill
PvE doesn't
Did both, both is equaly hard/easy dependent on how you look at it.
Arena is to much about set-up and is to predictable imo to have anything to do with skil.

I don't see how mastering a strategy that never changes can be considered skill. Aptitude, maybe.
