I don't think it would happen but if it did... Hmm... Nevermind, no, wouldn't happen, none of the races really have any plausable reason to switch.... Why is everyone so obsessed with this idea....?

It would make pvp quite confusing.

Obsessed? I just asked a simple hypothetical....I guess one short thread on wowhead makes me obsessed...
Well, I didn't mean specifically you Demonyx, It's just thats this idea has been tossed around a bit on the forums, the obsessed people I was referring to was the community as a whole, not just you.

here's a racial realignment that makes sense to me after WoLK:
Alliance keeps humans, dwarves, night elves and gnomes, but add the blood elves in a natural movement toward reconciliation. They are the ying that represents control and order. The Horde keeps orcs, tauren and trolls, adds goblins and for the sake of balance, worgen. They are the yang that represents chaos and wildness. The forsaken break away from the Horde as a neutral, reclusive faction by themselves as their ranks swell as more scourge are released from the Lich King's control. The forsaken were never trusted within the Horde; their only reason for alignment was convenience while their numbers were weak, and because they were rejected by their (mostly) human origins.
What about the Draenei?

The problem here being, if you're a blood elf now on the alliance side, you could still communicate with members of the horde. Or are you saying that it's a magic spell that makes you forget your own language? That would go over well with the lol-lore people.

Technically in Lore, everyone can speak common in addition to their own languages.....

Wait, you mean the Horde isn't chaotic and wild enough as it is? Well, that's a trip..

A friend and I were doing some theorizing about this one day and came to the conclusion the more likely scenario is an all new third faction being born with a couple of the races leaving their respective factions. It would be the Blood Elves and Forsaken most likely leaving the Horde, but I have no idea on Alliance side.
Still as has already been pointed out, it seems a very unlikely thing for Blizzard to do simply to community and game lore.

Draenei met the Night Elves first, but had they met the Tauren, it's possible they would be Horde right now.
