Anyone else got the "Antivirus Ad"?

I tried to disable AdBlock and the ads we're still missing so it seems the ad companies used by Wowhead use some JavaScript to display the ads and the those scripts are blocked by NoScript. Knowing about past incidents with the banners spreading trojans and other crap I am not going to change the settings of NoScript...

Well, I quote FaaR.
As far as i know, you may as well just CUT all your ad suppliers on the basis that their content contains viruses.
And on my side, I will simply avoid going to this site until (i) you make this issue a sticky in the site related forums (transparency above all) and (ii) remove all malicious ad content (you can put pressure on your sellers).
Issue is you provide a service - and you get paid by advertisers. We get this service - but as far as I am concerned, I'm not willing to get your services AS WELL AS a virus.
Shame WowDB does not have this virus.
sry guys - recommended ur site to all my guild, now i posted not to come here until further notice. and the news is spreading FAAAAST.
of course happy to hear updates

The reason I haven't posted about this is that we're about 90% sure we've caught this problem, as of yesterday afternoon. We didn't want to post an announcement until we'd gone a little while without seeing a report. If anyone STILL sees this ad, please let me know right away--but I
think
we've got it.

I did a little research on the trouble we had been having and I found this:
http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-xpantivirus.html
It appears that what this is is a sleazy ad which is designed to drop a trojan on your computer, which will then sit in the background and periodically notify you that you are infected with spyware, and that the only way to get rid of it is to pay money to download their useless tool.
If you've seen this ad, you have my deepest apologies--the above link should help you clean your system up. This is a generic set of advertising spyware, though and has no awareness whatsoever of your WoW account or your WoW password. I am very, very sorry if something has happened to your account or accounts, but keylogging a WoW account is totally beyond the capability of this little trojan. A Google search will show a number of different sites explaining the dangers of this program and its capabilities, as well as a number of non-MMO related sites and blogs who have also been hit with this same ad through their advertisers.

LOL, at least some last article got somewhere with this add problem, when I reported it on Wowhead, the admin decided to erase the whole thread rather than locking it up, my first impression (besides big anger), was that they were the once responsible for it :D Good to knowthough that they (hopefully!) are working on removing it! :)

Email is probably the best place to do it, regardless.
Here's something that might help--anybody who has gotten the ad, please immediately go to
http://ad.yieldmanager.com/cookie
and copy and paste the contents into an email. This will show me the ID #s of all the yieldmanager banners you've seen since the last time you cleared your cookies, so I at least know which banners to check. =/

Got the email and we're already investigating. Please report these via email rather than here, as I get those faster and time is of the essence. Any additional you can get via the
http://ad.yieldmanager.com/cookie
address linked above would help. If you see it again, go immediately to
http://ad.yieldmanager.com/cookie
, copy and paste the contents into an email, and send it my way.
