Tanking pet

I (try to) solo quite some TBC heroics, as well as TBC+vanilla raids, but it's quite hard. So I tamed my turtle and got him to 80. However, I wonder what spec + pet spec I should take to make the soloing the easiest. That I have to be BM is obvious, but what talents - and more important, what pet talents?

For pet talents, I'd go with something like
this
. You'll probably want to put the last talent point into Last Stand or Taunt depending on what you need more often.

Can I ask why no cobra reflexes? Its quite a big dmg increase and thus threat as well

Well when tanking TBC and Vanilla dungeons and raids, very near every single pull is going to have 2 or more enemies. Cobra Reflexes only increases threat against the enemy your turtle happens to be focused on. It doesn't increase threat against the others beating on your pet, who are the real threat as they are far easier to pull off of your pet.
Not to mention, threat should not be a big issue even in large groups due to the Misdirect + Volley combination. When I did soloing, my main goal wasn't to kill the mobs as quick as possible; I simply wanted my pet to survive long enough to kill them. This is what Last Stand gives you; more survivability and more time to get the mobs down.
PS. I forgot to mention glyphs in my first response so I'll say them here.
Major Glyphs: Glyph of Mending (for obvious reasons), Glyph of Frost Trap (takes enemies longer to get to you if you pull off of your pet), and Glyph of Bestial Wrath (CC immunity on you and your turtle more often).
Minor Glyphs: Glyph of Feign Death (for obvious reasons), Glyph of Revive Pet (in case the unthinkable happens), and anything else for your third one (they're all not too helpful).

Well as engineer I can skip almost all trash with rocket boots + deterrence + disengage+FD, so its more for tanking bosses, but I see your point :) Thanks!
