In another thread, a couple people seemed to claim that, even though they don't have much muscle strength or training in fighting, they could just kick people's asses for some strange reason. I guess its only natural I suppose - the average person doesn't want to THINK they are inferior in some way to others, so they justify themselves with delusions. This sort of train of thought leads down a bad road though, because when people don't see their own failures, they don't seek to improve themselves.

Blah Blah Blah I'm dumb
Two can play the Quote Box game.
being fat doesnt mean you cant knock someone out.
Fat doesn't give you any power. If you're afraid of being knocked out by Steve Urkel, then I'll concede that point to you.

Okay. Cool story bro'. Yes, we understand that you need to see your own failure to improve it. That's logic. Now what exactly are we supposed to be talking about?

Wow, just wow.
Anyways.... I'd love to have some one-on-one with you next time I see you, unfortunately that's probably not going to happen.

Fat gives you weight which means that your blows have more momentum, it's physics dude. On top of that, the more you weigh the harder it is for someone you have pinned or locked to escape. Yes, in a fight muscle would be better than fat, but your making illogical sentences that are blatantly wrong.
Also no. I use to have a similar train of thought as well. "Oh, since I'm thinner I must be more agile and faster, so I can outmanuever them. Also, I learned some basic fighting skills, so I can just outskill them." Just no. You might be able to beat up &*!@ talking soccer players and such, but when you fight a real opponent who has 30-40 pounds of muscle on you, and he's also got good fighting skill, you're just boned, because if you can't even hurt your opponent, it doesn't matter how fast you are - you will get tired out and then knocked out.
And on the fat side of the scale, I'm really like to see an agile fat person though. Same deal - you're going to get tired out, and then you won't even be able to hit your opponents with your meat stick arms.
I disagree, in fact I think it's the other way around. There are some spots that hurt no matter who you are (I.E. eyes, solar plexus, groin, etc.), and if you have strength but lack speed you are probably never going to land that deadly punch in the first place. So one untouchable little ten year old could gouge your eyes out with his fingers while your flailing your four foot thick arms all over the place.
tl;dr, some people think they're batman, some people think they're the indestructible hulk.
I of course, am Wolverine.

Right, if you could strike as quickly. But fat doesn't give you any significant increase in power, like I said. You might have a slight increase in power due to your muscle adapting to your heavier weight, but you won't have significantly increased power like you would if you worked your muscles. Basically, you're not going to deliver much more force with strikes, and it'll likely be more difficult to perform more complex maneuvers if you're heavier (although, like you said, some will be harder to perform on you because it'll require more power to force you).
Gaining fat isn't really a substitute for gaining muscle if you're planning on getting in a fight with someone. It just doesn't work that way.
Rather than create a thread on how others don't see their failures, you should have taken the time to reflect on yourself and pick out your own failures
I have reflected on my own failures, that's why I've been so passionate about working out. I only hope that more people can come to that same realization that they need to start working out too.

Great job quoting out of context, because you kind of missed me saying Yes, in a fight muscle would be better than fat,
You know what you should do? Go into politics. Of course you wouldn't go on a diet to gain fat preparing to fight someone, but if you need to pin someone having fat and being still fast enough to grab them would actually be a huge advantage. When I wrestle (Not organized, but we throw each other around on the beach quite a bit), I'm hardly fat (Pretty muscular if you ask my friends), but I have a significant height and weight advantage over my friends, which I use to it's fullest potential. That's why I can fight kids who are a lot older than me, because once there pinned there's not a lot you can do with your fists.

You're missing the point entirely. Just because Adamsm says he's 6'3" and 250 lbs doesn't mean that he's overweight. He might just be 250 pounds of pure muscle, or he may just be overweight but you assuming that he's fat is your mistake. You assuming that Spacecat is getting picked on primarily because you assume he's overweight is also your failure. You attempt to take cheap shots at people on a forum site.
Your big thing on Hyperspacerebel was perception and how other forum users percieve him. To take this point further, who is the guy IRL that insults and tortures other kids; it's the school bully who no one likes and thinks he's better than everyone else. Take this a step further though, and you're the guy who attempts to do it on a forum site where no one can see you.
I'm taking your logic and applying it to you. Do you get it?
I think this about sums it up.

Aye, you have no idea about me; I spent most of high school working in a library, where I routinely was lifting boxes full of books that weighted between 10-50 pounds per. I'm a big person, a little gut, but I have stamina so it doesn't bother me; I jog every day, so my comment about out running you was true. And let's be honest here; it doesn't matter if your 4 feet or 7 feet, if you can hit someone hard enough in the throat to drop them, their screwed. And as for my comment about my feet; I wear steel toed work boots, so that would leave one heck of a mark on your face(and yes, I can kick high, early karate training here).
I posted my pic in the user picture thread, I'd suggest you go look at that mediator before you decide to insult someone.

Also the post about 1-2 hours in a gym 2 out of 3 days was wrong also.
Fitness being relative I could go into a gym and lift weights to no benefit of muscle increase. Its funny when people think, 'Oh i want to grow some muscle and toughen up, I'll go the gym every now and then'
It aint happenin Son
