I usually watch for the healers mana when I'm tanking. Sometimes I forget though and need to be prompted. But yeah I know what you mean. Its like when the idiot dps pull when
I
have no mana. And a pally tank with no mana=bad pally tank.

I hate it when DPS or tanks want to move faster....
For example, on my 72 druid tank, a DK (go figure) was complaining that I was going too slowly and that I wasn't chain pulling. I was watching my healer and it seemed that they were having trouble keeping up with more than 1 group at a time, so I was taking it slowly and making sure that they had enough mana.
I'm sorry, but I'd rather get the dungeon done without wipes than wipe the entire way though.

Try healing a tank who cant hold aggro on all the mobs at once, and thus the DPS takes lots of damage, or one who thinks stamina is some kind of god-like quality, and avoidance is the devil.
Or someone with a rubbish threat generation. Or a talent build that takes the worst talents from the tree and doesnt take key mitigation talents.
Then say a healer who needs mana is terrible.
A good tank is cheese to heal, but a bad tank cant be carried by their gear as well as a DPS can.
The number of DKs with 50k health and lose most of it to trash if left for 5s is terrifying.

Part of me envies rival DK tanks with high healthpools; but a greater part of me
loves armour
.
Youd be a damn sight easier to heal than some of the people Ive had the misfortune to heal lately.
I have to wonder how common the view that I heard from a DK the other day was...
"When I parry, the mob hits me again instantly"

In a 5-man, a healer needs enough regeneration to keep things moving without having to drink.
And in some cases thats just not possible.
/discussion.

If you OOM and it's not one of the ICC heorics, it's because you're terrible. Your tank is probably playing under the assumption that you're marginally competent.
I never look at my healer's mana, as there is no reason to.
I'm not terrible, I'm new. So next time if your healer has 15-16k mana, don't be surprised if he's not there all the time specially if you have DPS who likes to stand in fire, whirlwinds or pull agro.
I can usally drink up by putting a new earth shield on my tank, but the silly dps who then gets hit has a chance of dying a horrible death.
Its not just you.
Even us relatively well geared healers ( I certainly out gear original instances. Except my damn trinket *shakes fist*) have mana issues with tanks who arent all they think they are. Like the one who chain-pulled to Krystallus in HoS, and took massive damage from even the simplest mobs, and left many untanked.
People sadly think epix means you can tank. You cant.

Tanks keep pulling because that's what you should do, if there's no reason not to (and lots of people get annoyed if you don't pull fast enough). Healer mana isn't really readable, since different healers are comfortable with pulls at different mana levels. Just ask for a mb if you need it - and if the tank doesn't listen, let him die while you drink. Easy enough.

I love the tanks who move too fast then blame the healer....
By slowing down just a tad...paying attention to the healers mana then moving on its actually faster than running back, arguing about it and starting again on the packs that the tank died on.
And I would agree. Any tank who doesn't pay attention to a healers mana is definitely NOT a good tank. Its ignorance really.

As a tank, I always set the healer as my focus, if not only to watch their mana pool and keep an eye out for any drinking buffs.
