(Innate Passive) Split Soul – Trivium is accompanied by three Essences that represent his abilities. These essences take damage and attack for him. Which essence is currently at the forefront can be altered by pressing Alt, but only if that ability has been researched. Each time Trivium loses a third of his life (rounded down to the nearest third) the Essence currently at the forefront is destroyed until he has regained that life lost. While an essence is destroyed Trivium cannot use the ability to which that Essence corresponded. Each Essence also provides him with unique passive bonuses when they are not at the forefront.
Essence of Power – While at the forefront this Essence grants a bonus 5% to all of Trivium’s stats based off of the current number of that stat – can only be used if the ability Lash has been researched.
Essence of Greed - While at the forefront this Essence generates an additional 2 gold per second for Trivium – can only be used if the ability Pilfer has been researched.
Essence of Hate – While at the forefront this Essence drains 10 life (+2 per level) from Tirvium each second but gives his basic attacks a 50% chance to slow enemies and his abilities and 50% chance to stun – can only be used if the ability Rush has been researched.
(Active) Lash – Strike area designated by mouse with arcane power, dealing magic damage to units in that target area. If it kills the target Lash immediately become available for use.

Radius: 200
Cooldown: 12 / 11 / 10/ 9 / 8 seconds
(Active / Toggle) Pilfer –Generates a field of magical orbs around Trivium that drain mana and can be rotated by moving the mouse. If an enemy Champion, Minion, or Monster is struck by one of these orbs the orb is destroyed and the unit struck is damaged, and a portion of the damage dealt is then returned to Trivium as mana. If all the orbs are destroyed Pilfer immediately become available for use again.
Numbers of Orbs: 8 / 10 / 12 / 14 / 16

(Active) Rush – The current Essence at the forefront runs forward in whatever direction the mouse is pointing. The Essence continues to follow the mouse for a set distance, dealing damage and providing sight along its path, but also is able to take damage. At the end of the duration the essence runs back to Trivium, ignoring unit collision. Essences cannot be switched out while this ability is in progress. The Essence can be manually returned to Trivium but having it run back into him before the maximum distance is met, if this is done Rush will become immediately usable again.
Range Duration: 500 units
Damage 60 / 80 / 120 / 140 / 160 (+.7 per Magic Resistance)
Cooldown (Starts upon return of Essence after full distance is reached): 15 / 14 / 12 / 11 / 10 seconds
(Active / Ultimate / Toggle) Release – Trivium breaks free of his prison, removing the shades and their hindering of his spells but gaining the benefits of each at once. However, Trivium loses life each second while using this and if brought below 20% of his health he will automatically return to his original state with a random essence alive.
Life Lost Each Second: 100 / 200 / 300
Cooldown (Starts upon deactivation of ability): 300 / 260 / 220 seconds
Lore:
Some people bare their intentions for all to see, letting the world know of their goals and desires. Others keep their plans a secret, staying all but unknown until the last possible second. Such was the case of Demacia native Geovani Bren, who had been born with immense magical powers, but ones that did not manifest themselves in a noticeable way until his early adulthood. Immediately upon learning of his arcane abilities Goevani murdered everyone else who knew about them and then went into hiding. In solitude he trained himself to harness his powers, learning more and more about his full potential with each passing day and devising new ways to use them.
What Geovani craved most, though, was immortality, and so the self-taught mage developed a spell that split his soul into three separate entities which he stashed away in a trio of mundane but now magically-enhanced objects. As long as those items remained unbroken his souls, and therefore he, would last forever. In light of his accomplishment he renamed himself Trivium, but his success did not go unnoticed. Summoners of the League of Legends, ever on the lookout for new Champions, were quick to pick up on what he had done and spirited Trivium and each of the items he had used to house the fragments of his souls away to the League. There they locked him and his soul-jars in a prison specifically designed for him, ensuring that he would be unable to do anything more then what he was directed to.
“His power is immense, but his arrogance allows us to keep him contained.” – Summoner Cain
Observations:
The prison that contains Trivium looks much like a large, iron-colored vase that has had its lid permanently affixed to the vase itself. There is nothing special around this vase, but around it stand and the three manifestations of what he broke his soul into in his bid for immortality. These souls are always visible, but until Trivium is granted the usage of the powers they command by his controlling Summoner they remain clear as air. The first is a deep blue in color once it is activated, and holds its arms open at its sides, apparently basking in the glow of its own power. The second is a sickly green, and stands with its arms clutched close to its chest, as if holding onto something it does not wish to lose. The last Essence is a dark red shade, which stands with his shoulders arched, seemingly ready to lunge at someone to began a brawl.
Despite the best efforts of Summoners, Tirvium has been observed to break free of his imprisonment from time to time. Heavy restrictions have been placed upon him because of this to ensure he does not disrupt the battles in the Field of Justice too much. Even while free his human form is not visible, as the Summoner magic used to confine him such an enclosed space has altered him. He is permanently cloaked in a glow of violet energy which obscures even a silhouette of his form from being seen. Talk amongst the Summoners is that their attempts to contain him have backfired somehow, and Trivium’s power has only been increased, and is still growing, due to such a direct connection with their own. If this is true, how long will it be before he has the strength to free himself?
Voice – Muffled while within the vase, but clear and powerful when released with Ultimate. Usually talks with an audible grudge.
Selection:
“I will be free of you!”
Movement/Attacking:
“You… Cannot… Command ME!”
“Only as I wish it.”
“I am immortal, they are not.”
“Our goals are the same… For now.”
“All will fall before my power!”
“For now I obey.”
“Very well…”
“Enjoy this while you can.”
“You will be the first to feel my wrath.”
Release:
"First this Field, then the League!"
Joke:
“This week on L O L cribs we take a look at my pad to check out all the hip styles.”
Taunt:
“If even imprisoned I can defeat you, imagine what I will do when I am free!”
(While using alt) “First you, then the Summoners!”
Laugh:
(Single grudging) “Ha”
Playing As:
Be careful of where you send the Essence while using Rush, it may not take the safest path back to you.
Pilfer is extremely effective for clearing large clumps of minions of dealing damage to multiple targets during team fights.
Try and reach the requirements for being able to immediately use the abilities again in order to deal the most damage possible.
While it can be tempting to keep using Release until reaching the low life limit, it may be safer to use it in short bursts
Playing Against:
Silence Trivium often, especially if he is able to use his abilities to effectively last-hit minions.
Try to stay out of melee range of Trivium, or have high magic resistance to be able to fight through Pilfer.
While using Rush, Essences are subject to Stuns and Slows – but not fears – use this to your advantage if Trivium gets greedy around towers.
Rough idea of Pilfer orb positioning (I'm no artist, so bare with me):
