Well I mostly like the Blood Elf lore. They have been betrayed time and time again yet they go on. They were first hated by the non-highborn elfs which led them to summoning Sargeras. As such they were marked as traitors and were forced to leave their homeland.
Next when they built Silvermoon City (With many casualties may I add) and made the Sunwell with some water from the Well of Eternity they were attacked by the trolls. They allied them selfs with the humans to whom they passed on the art of arcane magic. It was all well until the humans decided to betray them, and started killing and capturing them like animals.
When Kael'Thas allied him self with the naga and then with Illidan he was promised great power for him and his people. He obeyed every last command and was still "punked" and left alone to fend for himself. Now they allied with the Horde and hope to get their long awaited revenge on the Night Elfs, Humans and the Burning Legion. The only bad thing is no one ever heard of their leader now before the Burning Crusade. Kael'Thas should go back to his people and become the leader.

Uh... they summoned Sargeras because they couldn't leave well enough alone, and felt the need to test the depths of the Well of Eternity. Then, about 4 thousand years back from current time (which left 7 thousand years relatively unchronicled), the Amani empire, which the Elves had invaded and built a city on top of a scared site to the Trolls, attacked enmass to wipe out the invaders once and for all.
Of course, they were High Elves up to that point.
It was all well until the humans decided to betray them, and started killing and capturing them like animals.Yes humans did them wrong... but their prince turned on them and tried to transform them all into Demon slaves....

Kael'thas wasn't insane nor initiated on the "dark side" of magic by that time... his words still shows a typical high elven distrust on demons.
Well yeah... even when he joined the Legion, he did so with an idea of transforming the entire Burning Legion into a new power source for his people.... but still wasn't anything remotely sane.

Adam, I think that we're talking about the time before Kael'thas even went to Outland. When Vashj made him consider the power of demons as a source of magic and he said himself that it was madness or something like that.
Oh, heh, oops. Well, that stance didn't last very long did it lol, and didn't she make that offer once they were captured within Dalaran?

And later, after Kael crosses the portal to Outland, Vashj says something like "this is the first step, young prince". Her plan was to make him used to demonic magic and later serve Illidan, or so it seems to me.
At that time, Kael was still an innocent thousands of years old boy.Well yeah, the wandered for weeks in Hellfire, and he and his forces fed on the demons at that point. Of course, once Mag's was captured and sealed away, Kael showed his own resourcefulness with the whole "Drain Netherstorm of it's magic, planeshift away, blowing up Outland and returning home with a new source of power".... too bad it went horribly wrong heh.
But he was a cradle robber who didn't like female elves lol.

Both can fight fiercely, but hate to do so at all.
Why do you say so? Elune herself is called the Night Warrior.
"Elune never engages in combat of any kind, nor does she allow it to occur in her presence. Though she never physically manifests in the world of mortals, when she involves herself in a violent situation she arrives invisibly and undetected using her song of peace to calm the combatants until sunrise." -WoWWikki.
Edit: Though I agree, the Night Elves did not hesitate in kicking Gurubashi ass thousands of years ago, nor did I see any peace negotiations before Cenarius charged (And got stomped) by Grom.

And the NEs also kicked Amani ass =D.
I think you got that confused with blood elves. Think of where the amani empire was, and think of the elves nearby.

No, 4 thousand years ago was the original fight, then in the Second War, the Amani were in the Horde.

Not confused just forgot that minor detail in the second war. And indeed I said blood elves, but its the elves of quel'thalas, so they'd be high elves of the thousends of years they faught them.
Funny when you think arn't it. They faught the amani trolls of thousends of years, so you imagine these elves could only see trolls as the enemy. Then one nasty deathknight rips a big scar through there lands and all of a sudden there on the same side as the the horde (who tried to burn there forests) with the trolls they hated so much (well darkspear not being amani, but trolls non the less).
Goes to show how fickle elves can be, tut tut.
