Well, all we know at the moment is the Gates are fortified with this metal... they haven't actually said the rest of the city is getting an extreme makeover. Before you toss out the wash water with the baby, wait for more information, then make the judgment call.

Guess your right. I'm just going on impressions of the outside look and how the designs go in northrend.

Exactly. The only thing's we know about Origimaar right now is the thing about the elves, trolls, forsaken and gobs being kicked out of the center ring(remember how people were freaking thinking all the non-tauren and orc npc's were gone from the city?) and the gates. Everything else is up in the air, beyond a few of the Horde outposts were seen with the black metal on them as well, and most of those have been in warzone like areas; Ashenvale and similar.

If Garrosh becomes the next chieftain and Thrall just stops by Orgrimmar when the remodeling is done, Garrosh will be catapulted all the way to Deathwing's lair in a second. I believe the black metal and all that kind of thing is showing the aggression and hatred Garrosh is bottling inside of him. On the other hand Thrall didn't use aggressive architecture and materials to build Orgrimmar showing his wish to stop the war and hatred between the Horde and the Alliance.

Very good point.
I'm just hoping that there do a thing where Thrall and Saurfang, realising that Garrosh's actions would lead to the orcs sort of counter-redemption, they decide to take action into there own hands and put a stop to him, like retaking of undercity.
This though should be a horde only event, like in old times when there were horde or alliance only events.

I think after the cataclysm the old Orgrimmar was destroyed and the full on war with the alliance began,
The wooden and stone walls of the original Orgimmar where probebly not sufitiant defence against an alliance siege attack, especialy now with the new tanks we have got from wintergrasp,
So they came with the choice of wood or metal to build their City's defences and they smartly chose the metal, as the orcs of hellfire citedel did,
I do prefar the designs of Warsong Hold to normal Orc designs as the old ones just looked realy bland compared to towns and quest hubs owned by the alliance which are so much more imposing and I'll be glad if its changed.
Orgrimmar isn't damaged by Cata for some reason, enough there are rumours of Sen'jin village getting hit by the same tidal wave that destroys Southshore.

Also Taurenmoo: it is bode well, not bold well.
People make spelling mistakes. You don't have to point out every one...

I rather liked Warsong Hold. To quote Garrosh:
The razing of Orgrimmar was not just an attack against orcs. It was an affront to the Horde. An assault against our very existence!
The Lich King sought to sow the seeds of fear.
This...
<Garrosh points to the fortified walls that surround him.>
This is the result of Arthas's Campaign.
The Horde fears nothing...
I like it. It says "We are Horde. Just try and attack us."

I like it. It says "We are Horde. Just try and attack us."
But my argument is, don't you think there should be a line drawn between warfair, and homestead?
To make orgrimmar into what warsong hold looked like, would be like people in the second world war turning there homes into bunkers and forts.
The whole thing with orgrimmar, despite it being a warrior city, is that it has (had) a charm to it that made it feel like 'home'. There was nothing homie about warsong hold, it was purely a fortress used for warfair, thats it.

I have to agree with this. It would be like the Dwarves adding machine guns, towers and tents outside Ironforge. It would make me cry inside :(

Some of the buildings outside warsong hold still feel kinda like home, and they use the same architecture.
I don't know why would you call it dark though.
As I said in my earlier post, look at the design of hellfire citadel (which was created at the darkest chapter of the hordes past) and now look as warsong hold. Despite how 'badass' someone might find it, it still is clearly a statement of those dark times rearing its ugly head again.

I liked them both in there own way. I though that Warsong hold is a perfectly kick ass military base, while Ogrimmar is a perfectly nice Orcish city. I would be very sad to see either changed.

well seems we don't get much choice in it, since the premise of orgrimmar being changed is based on Garrosh and how he thinks all orcish bases need to look like warsong hold, including orgrimmar

Only the Gates, it hasn't been seen or said that entire city is being overhauled in black metal.
