You must be joking. Ranger-Lieutenant hunter-magi? Most talented the Farstriders had ever seen, famous across Quel'thalas? I hope you have a
very
good explanation. :/

Born of Sala'Thalas and Doru Goldenblade, this young Sin'Dorei was one of the most talented the recruitment officers of the Farstriders had ever seen. He quickly rose through the ranks, making him self esteemed and known throughout Quel'Thalas, and was offered a place in the elite ranks of the Sin'Doreian military. At the current rank of Ranger-Lieutenant, Tra'Thalas' goal is to become Ranger-General of Silvermoon. That's almost as bad as the powerful mage man. Your rp character doesn't need to be a high ranking person. None of mine are, their mainly just soldiers of a certain faction, and serve under the commander types.

Just think about real life.
Every one of us is a normal,
boring
person with our own strengths, weaknesses, fears and talents, none of which are particularly special to the point that we instantly are famous or instantly become head of the military.
That is how the majority of the population is.
What makes us all eccentric, unique and interesting is our personalities. Each one of us has different preferences, dislikes, prejudices, hobbies and all that fun stuff.
Like I said earlier, you'd be better off to make a character that is more boring profession/class/status/power wise and more interesting personality wise.

Ahem. Ranger-Lieutenant is not that high a rank. Second, I said
ONE
of the most talented the recruiters had seen.

Your also only 154, that's only 40 years past the age most Elves consider themselves Adults. Merely saying, you don't need to be a high ranked person; heck, you can even rise in the ranks depending on the RP itself, if it's a war type or not.

Yes, but just because they are BE's doesn't mean they are any less boring than the other races.
And you probably shouldn't come on the forums, ask for advice and then be rude to the people who give it to you. Especially when those people happen to be experienced RPers who know what they are talking about.
If you don't want to take peoples advice than fine. But many members of this board are experienced role players who are trying to help you. Following their advice will help you develop a more in depth, realistic character that people will come to respect.

It is. If you're making a famous, really skilled ranger who is highly ranked - You should have a very good explanation to make it plausible. I agree with Gumballs entirely, and I'll give you a
couple
more
links
.
Please bother reading them, seeing as I was bothered to find them.

File: Report on Tra'Thalas, Spell-Breaker of the city.
Name: Tra'Thalas
Race: Blood Elf
Class: Hunter, Paladin-in-training
Age:213
Position: Spell-breaker.
Background: Born of Sala'Thalas and Doru Goldenblade, this young Sin'Dorei was trained in the ways of the ragers, although he was surprisingly talented with a sword and shield, despite his earlier training as a hunter. He joined the Silvermoon Guard and became a Spell-Breaker or more well known, A city guard. He was involved in rebuking four alliance attacks on Lore'Themar Theron. Tra'Thalas carries throwing knives instead of a bow, and is studying to become a blood knight.
My revised version, feedback please :)

Take out the spell-breaker part, you can say, as a hunter, you are a Ranger. Spell-breakers are something different,
Spell Breaker lore here.
As for that, interesting.

Just ditch spell-breaker, and the bit about rebuking 4 alliance attacks and it should be fine.
Interesting personalities with little backstory are far more endearing, and fun to RP than someone with an "epic" backstory yet very little personality, or RP style.
