WTF?
holycow?
this is the last ( and worst ) blizzard marketing operation... the wowwiki lore or anything like that is only a weak justification... many of theese race/class combinations are pretty meaningless if we're talking about roleplay
IMO
Acceptable
Worgen Dk unholy ( they came from the Scourge)
Worgen warrior
Worgen Rogue
Worgen Hunter (they are half animals)
Dwarf Shaman ( wildhammer clan rules!)
Belf Warrior( any race can bewarrrior so why not Belf?)
Gnome Priest
Goblin rogue
goblin mage
goblin warrior
all the others combinations for me are meaningless... Undead hunter? an hunter should feel the nature, live in it... blizzard is going to sell the RP meaning of WoW and all the noobs are going to follow it

Also about Draenei not getting anything is both bad and good. Pshaw. The only "good" about it is "no new class means at least they're not getting mucked up with warlocks."
The good part is that they only have 3 left (Druid, Rogue and Warlock) which doesn't fit them in any way of their beliefs.Druid: They're inquisitive, conscientious, and somewhat open to syncretism. It would also help to better connect them to the setting.
Rogue: A distant second-place. Could be explained off as some sort of warrior-monk who's only a "rogue" by way of game mechanics. (Hooves can be muffled.)
The bad part is that they could, just could, consider going their brothers way, the way of Eredar. Being a wicked Eredar Warlock would be just awesome! It makes just as much sense of taurens being paladin >.<Ehh...no. The new Sunwalker lore is halfway decent, from what we've seen of it. And as someone once stated: the tauren didn't spend millennia keeping one step ahead of evil paladins who wanted to wipe them out.
Draenei warlocks would be the
least
appropriate choice. Additionally, as draenei are missing both stealth classes, it would prevent them from getting anything that's actually
functionally
new. you do realize, that in real life.....you are a human, not a tauren......

.....right?Watch out. Some Horde players don't like to be reminded. :)

I don't get the Orc mage hate. I happen to find a fire spec'd Orc mage very fitting.
The only race/class combo that doesn't make sense to me is the Goblin shaman. Just doesn't seem fitting.
Best is Troll druids. Obviously.

Not sure where all the Tauren Paladin / Priest hate is coming from. Following the Light is not a religion in the traditional sense. You're not worshiping a God or Gods, but rather a series of beliefs to better the lives of those around you. The main tenet of the Light is basically using positive energy to incite change for the better in the world around you. Basically the idea is do good works and those works will inspire others. The holiness is not in the sanctity of a God, but the sanctity of the spirit. Everyone has one, for the most part, so why not allow anyone to believe who chooses to do so?

I'm not a huge fan of:
Worgen Druids
(sure they can "shapeshift", but its a curse, not because of a connection with nature)They came up with some new lore to explain it. It seems a bit contrived, but whatever.
Tauren Priests
(just doesnt seem to fit, Tauren Pallies do because of the heavy armor, smashing/tanking aspect, I just cant picture a big cow-man (or woman) going to church everyday of the week, not their style)Why? Tauren as a culture are very spiritual.
Forsaken Hunters
(I agree with Human Hunters (guns and trained animals is a big thing for some humans) and I've always said Forsaken should get whatever humans get (as they are undead humans) but this doesnt sit right)Agreed. What I like:
Troll Druids
(just so long as they dont make the forms ugly)I'm hoping for: tigers with tusks and possibly mohawks or braids, in trolly hair colors; a slimmer, sleeker bear form, also with tusks; and wind serpent flight form. All would be adorned with little voodoo trinkets.
Dwarf Shamans
(there is something about this that seems right, even tho Dwarves have no other notable connection to nature)The Wildhammer clan has been shamanic according to lore since before WoW.
Tauren Paladins
(see above, I've been saying I'd reroll (or race change my belf to Tauren if it ever became possible since about lvl 62)Hear, hear.
Belf Warriors
(there was never any reason for this to be left out imho, anyone can pick up an axe and start swinging, addicted to magic or not)My main issues with this are as follows:
1) If they were going to leave one BC race out of the loop, they should have left
both
of them out.
2) I suspect that the shift of paladins towards tauren will be outweighed by the shift of warriors towards blood elf
What I would've added:
Draenei Druids
(the space-goats seem to have a greater connection to nature than any other alliance race this side of nelfs, and they dont have the curse that the worgen do)Much as I
hate
that ridiculous slang term, I have to agree here.
Draenei Warlocks
(given the lore (as I understand it) around draenei and "demons", I cant believe a space-goat mage has never went awol and switched to the dark side)
Forsaken Paladins
(makes alot more sense than Forsaken Hunters in my mind)Now, I think these two would be inappropriate.
Gnome Shamans
(mechano-shaman, nuff said)Ehh. If gnomes were to get another class, I'd say hunter or paladin. Not sure where all the Tauren Paladin / Priest hate is coming from. Following the Light is not a religion in the traditional sense. You're not worshiping a God or Gods, but rather a series of beliefs to better the lives of those around you.
