And yes poor people can be happy, and if they make kids they have to accept the fact that he/she will live in primitive conditions. The problem here is that they don't think about these things (I know that I can't prove this in any way).
Primitive to you yes, to them, it's the way of life. Of course, I'd like to see you last as long as they do if you were put down in the middle of whatever country they lived in. As for your second statement; so what, their just animals to your line of thinking, people who rut and make more little babies, no love, no thinking ahead of time? Dude, you should quit now while your not ahead.

But as I said they don't think about these things, so we should help them think (education, birth control etc). They know about them... but seeing as most of the ways to get them involve being forced to convert to whatever religious mission is there in their villages well..... I think I would take my chances as with nature as well.

Ok, this is asking for it.
A kid on His 19th birthday jerks off to a bottle, goes to to living room, gives the bottle to his Father and says:
Here, I dont owe anything more.
Now I want to start learning Portugreek (+1 internetz to whoever gets the reference)
What is Portugreek?

I believe that many couples have children for selfish reasons (my parents said that my birth was the happiest day of their lives). This contradicts with my theory of people having a child unselfishly, so their child isn't "required" to have kids unselfishly to not be selfish since his parents weren't unselfish when they had him/her.
My parents most likely never would've had me, if giving life for me wouldn't have given them happiness.Except for a very few (ie women who are having a baby due to rape or some other trauma), the day of a baby's birth is always a happy day for at least one of the parents. Yes, some are unsuitable parents; such as those who have kids intending to use them as a fashion accessory, or those who have a child to try to trap a boyfriend/spouse what have you in a relationship, but that has nothing to do with the child. If their lucky, the baby will be watched over by someone who truly loves them.
Yes, there are selfish reasons to have a child, but those are balanced by those who truly want a baby, and it makes me sad when you think of the number people who a child, but due to rules or their own body is unable to have one.

Yes, of course they can adopt a child but having biologically one is slightly different.
This cynically makes me think if these people only want to have children because they can't have them?
Isn't it basic human acting to strive for something that you don't have ?No. They merely want to be a parent; and yes, once they exhausted all the roads of medical science, they do go for adoption, but that's what I mean by rules; It's harder for a single parent to adopt then a couple, or things similar to that. What I meant was watching people, like the celebs, having children then more or less throwing them to nannies except when they want to parade them out and say look at me, I'm a parent.

,
Adopted child's interest > Adoption parent(s) interest
It's safer / easier / better (or whatever positive term you want to use) for child to grow up on family with two parents.
No, that's your opinion. You remind me of my Sociology teacher from last year when she mocked the New Right world view.
No, that's common sense.

He speaks the truth.
Having one parent is silly, just messes the kid up. It's either two or none!
For those without a means to detect sarcasm, the preceeding statement contained some.

No. I don't have a child, I can't have a child. I do not want a child.
I can't shake the feeling that this thread is just building up to a huge tongue-twister.
She sells selfish shellfish shells by the sea's shore!
