Had a Rogue need on
Bad Mojo Mask
in a ZF run the other day. He won, but conceded the item to my Priest (only other person to need). I think the intent is to not be able to roll on other proficiencies, but what I'd like to see is a roll weighting (A Cloth-wearers 42 beats a leather-wearers 64 on a cloth item, etc).
It may not seem fair to some, but Mages, Priests, and Warlocks can't wear anything else, why should they have to lose to someone who can wear higher armors?

One word answer: Itemization. Holy pallies and resto druids have been known to run with cloth because it's better for them than certain plate or leather pieces.
IMHO, make a healing piece in all 4 armor types and the problem is solved. Oh, but then there's the dreaded "homogenization." Yea, like a squishy mage can do a whole heckuva lot more damage than a feral druid (see "pure class vs. hybrid class" debate).
