HnS or CQC?

this question essentially boils down to 'is there an inherent benefit to either of these talents?' but here are the specifics.
i have a selection of 232 weapons:
MH axe
+
OH sword
or
MH fist
+
OH dagger
i can soak up any changes in hit and expertise through use of gems/enchants and gear swaps elsewhere so that's not a consideration.
the differences i see are the dagger is a slightly quicker OH which makes for better poison proccing and combat potency. the fist has a slightly lower top damage but a narrower damage range. i use combat more in heroics than raids so the higher damage on a dagger OH for FoK might be worth considering.
so, with all that in mind, is there any meaningful distinction to be made between the relative usefulness of HnS and CQC or should i make the decision based on the things i listed above?
any insight would be appreciated.

yes i'm very well acquainted with spreadsheets but i'm also well enough acquainted with this game we all so enjoy to know that there's more value in understanding than simply following instructions. also, my question refers partly to situations which are not modelled by any current spreadsheet.
what makes HnS inherently better than CQC? intuitively the increased crit seems better if it applies to abilities as well as white hits though, of course, so few abilities or tooltip descriptions obey the laws of intuition.

HnS will probably come out on top in all situations if you're going for 20/51/0 build.

So you say "yeah, I know how to spreadsheet, and I did so, but I'd like to ask you what you think about it". It's like going to the doctor for a cold and insisting on getting a second opinion from the hospital's janitor.
One of the many deciding factors are poisons - being so out of control as they are at the moment, the clear winner is the extra attack. CQC doesn't affect them. This, of course assumes equal itemization. It is very possible that a higher-iLvl mace/fist will beat a sword.

it's not a second opinion so much as an explanation of the results i see that i'm asking for.
spreadsheets say HnS > CQC and in-game experience bears it out (with a surprisingly noticeable difference). since CQC with a faster OH made more sense to me i was hoping for some insight as to why these results are seen.
the extra attacks makes sense and 5% extra attacks does out-weight 0.1 faster OH in terms of poison applications.
one further question. HnS can proc of any attack? white or yellow? and when it does do i get an extra white attack or does it depend on what procced it?
after a fight recount shows several different attacks labelled with HnS (eg. "killing spree (hack and slash)").
i suppose what i'm asking is does HnS proc an extra white hit or does it depend on what attack caused the proc?

Ignore what recount says. It's very difficult to programatically parse HnS procs since the combat log isn't guaranteed to be in order.
In general, the factors that make HnS better than CQC are procs causing poison applications, and OH procs causing MH attacks. One of the reasons there aren't any 1.4 sword/axe OHs is to make the specs closer. A 2.6/1.4 HnS setup would soundly beat the same as CQC. The slower OH helps mitigate that a little.
