Ret pally, more damage, less healing?

This might be more of a wishful thinking, however, given the circumstances, would you all as ret pally dps be happier with less survivability more damage or keep it the way it is? Personally I would like to be considered even with all the other dps classes instead of 5% less equally geared. Granted I know there are many things to take into consideration as far as ret pallys go. But I would like to see more damage dealt and the only way this would be fair is if we could not heal ourselves as much. This is a general question. Not directed specifically at pvp or pve. Thoughts?

What the hell does DPS need to worry about survivability for unless its pvp or you like to stand in candyfire?

ret paladins have one of the highest survivability rates in the game.

I think he wants to increase ret DPS and is aware of the fact that this would have to be weighted by lowering their survivability, which is, of course, very high.
My thoughts are that doing this would make you a copy of a warrior. Be glad for all the tools you have, and use them to your best. Not doing this means that you are in fact just a poor warrior.
Paladins have a lot of unique abilities usable on anyone in the raid. Stop looking at your survivability and look at the whole party, and maybe people will start to die less often and you wont be concerned that its only you standing alive after something bad happens, because you have your bubble on.

If this is a PVP question;
BG = PvE gear
Arena = Resilience gear.

I wouldn't change a thing either. The survivability is the coolest thing about pallies, I'd rather not lose it and turn into a cheap clone of a warrior or dk. A facerolling one at that.
