Typically, when you hit 80, the next step is running dungeons to prepare for the raids which is the end until the next expansion comes out.
Other people will hit the cap of whatever level bracket they are shooting for and just gear up for and run battlegrounds and arena.
Some people hit 80 (or the current level cap) and just level alts.
Does anyone not fit into any of the above categories? Are there any people who hit 80 and find other things to do? If so, what could those things possibly be?
Or are those the only options?

I've been 80 for quite a while now. I started farming heroics so I can be geared for raid entrance. Now I farm heroics and raids for currency to buy tier gear.
What I'm focusing on:
-Gearing up and trying to see as much end of game raid content as possible.
-Levelling fishing & cooking. For achievements, money, and to supply myself with raid consumables.
-Farming herbs for raid consumables and the AH.
-Farming rep for ambassador title.
I usually avoid pvp, because I never bothered learning how to take down other classes. But I join in defending The Crossroads on occasion, and enjoy harassing alliance in Storm Peaks with
Freezing Arrow
.
