I started playing a druid a few days ago, he's level 22 right now and tanking random instances with a friend as healer, It's fun, but I just wanted to know if/when it becomes more than just spamming maul/swipe to keep agrro.
thanks.

Around 50 when you can get mangle, again at 66 when you get lacerate, and once again at 80 where you incorporate everything you've learned into tanking effectively.
Don't fret it though, yeah our style is "simpler" than a warrior's but we don't need 3 tools that do virtually the same thing, we have 1 ability fine tuned for each job.
You want to aoe? We have swipe.
You want to cause a lot of threat in 1 ability? We have mangle.
You want to apply a stacking ability with high threat to an enemy? We have lacerate.
You want an ability that goes off your next swing and is the primary source of your threat? We have maul.
You want a way to get in melee range quickly? We have feral charge.
You want to cause threat from a distance? We have feral faerie fire.

Along with the madness of trying to keep up with dps who will probably be far better geared than you ;)
Yeah, no doubt... I hit 80 a couple of weeks ago, and my gear is pretty good now, mostly 200+ with a couple of low pieces, and I'm running the random heroics. EVERY dps seems to outgear me by a lot, and some of them are constantly pulling aggro, so far especially warriors and DKs. It's really a good way to learn all those emergency buttons.
But if you group with a tank named Stallion, just know, if you're dps and you think it's fun to pull and make me pull aggro from you, on the second or third time I will watch you die before I pick up the mobs. Fair warning.
Except the healers will probably outgear the instance as well, and if it's a warrior or DK that pulls aggro it's not so big of a deal. :) I know what you mean though, almost everyone outgears those instances nowadays and everyone goes in with the mindset that it's just a zergfest.
