Onxyia 20%-0% with No Healer

Just thought I'd share a funny story while waiting for servers to come up.
Yesterday I got involved in a PuG 10 man Onxyia. I had a bad feeling when I joined the group because 8 of the members were already in Onxyia's Lair. If my experience tells me anything, joining a failed PuG in progress will lead to one of two things; 1) I'll come in and we down it on the next pull, or 2) We will wipe for some reason and 2 more people will drop group. I can't tell you how many times I've come in as a replacement tank, we fail for some reason, and people decide now is a good time to leave. Things would go so much better if everyone would just ran back, rebuff, and try again.
Anyway, this 10 man PuG yesterday. Ended up failing once on the P3 transition (a healer got himself blast nova / ignite weaponed in P2). The healer dropped, the druid OT switched to heals, and we picked up a DK. We get going, everything is running fine. The only issue came in the P3 transition, when a mage decided to stand right underneath Onyxia when she landed and she promptly ate him.
So I pick her up going into phase 3. She's at about 25% and I see the Druid healer standing almost directly on her left front claw, and the Paladin healer is directly to my right, almost standing behind me (danger zone, but not actually getting flame breathed). I was a little too busy to type a raid warning for these two idiots to move back and away. Sure even, I see a fear casting, I Zerk Rage it, both healers get feared and Bee-line directly toward me just as Onxyia starts casting a flame breath. I try and turn her away but it was no use; both healers die to flame breath.
So she's at 20%. We have 2 healers and 2 DPS dead (mage from Onyxia, and ret paladin from a P2 Deep Breath). I end up popping shield wall, then last stand/trinket/enraged regen, and finally a Health Potion. Lucky avoidance strings and cooldowns let me last until she was at about 8 or 9%. At that point the DK OT (who I have to give props to for this), taunted and took my position. The rest of the DPS kept going, and he was able to cooldown his way through to a kill.
It ended up being about 1,000,000 health that the six of us burned through with no healers, which trying to calculate after the fact was probably around 50-55 seconds. And it wasn't like we had a smart DPS start off healing. We had me (warrior MT), DK OT, DK DPS, Rogue DPS, Warlock, and Mage.
I was pretty happy with the sloppy but still epic success. The funny thing is that they had been in the raid so long that trash respawned, and the only two rezzing classes were dead (healer was MasterLooter). So I released, the healers released, and the dead DPS were asking for Rezzes (dumb). The living DPS were trapped in Onyxia's room, so I tried to start soloing the trash with one DPS and the two healers. What a mess that ended up being. It got to the point where the boss was already dead, but people were dropping group because they had to go. Finally the DPS with Onyxia killed themselves and came out to the front to help re-clear. By the time we cleared the trash there were only 6 people left in the raid to go collect the loot.

Let me guess the loot was a lock helm and priest helm, neither of which were there? I know both drops were helms because between my two toons that have killed her many many times I have seen nothing else. Those weapons that loot tables claim she drop are actually from some secret instance that blizz has somehow gotten everybody to hide from me.
Loot was
Sharpened Fang of the Mystics
,
Judgement Helmet
, and a second
Judgement Helmet
...
Stupid double prot paladin helm drop. The paladin healer had dropped group already, so the Ret paladin got one of the helms and I got the other helm to vendor. I think the resto druid ended up taking the dagger, although the Warlock and one of the Mages also rolled for it.

Ideally, the DK would have taunted before you died, in order to allow you to keep DPS'ing. But still, good job.

Hehe, nice. I love it when runs get fun like that. We had a sort of similar experience not long ago with Ony.
Normal raid night had been cancelled as 4 of our regular raiders couldn't make it, so the 6 of of us left picked up 4 of our more casual players (they've not been raiding for long...it shows) and decided, I have
no
idea why, to go poke Ony. Our casuals are still a bit 'iffy' with Sarth all by himself...
Anyway, we wiped a couple of times while they learned, but they kept at it and improved a bit. On about the fifth attempt everything was going smoothly (it helped that 5 of the 6 regular raiders were the tanks and healers) and we
knew
we were going to hit P3 and wipe.
Well, we hit P3, and in the confusion of that first fear we lost our regular raiding mage, three of the casual dps and one of the healers.
With Ony at 26% we were left with a resto shaman, holy pally, prot warrior MT, frost DK OT and one lone warlock...
"Ah, what the hell" I think to myself. Fire ele, bloodlust, slap on some imba resto dps. May as well have some fun with this wipe. Even the holy pally helped with
holy shock
and whatever else holy pallies can do offensively.
Sat watching her health just tick down and tick down, oh so slowly, while half my pathetic offensive spells missed completely (nothing sadder than seeing a lava burst miss, imo). Basically just seeing how close we could get her before she enraged while the dead people were discussing what happened/how to make the transition better, etc.
So when she fell over and left loot lying around for us the silence on Vent was total. We were on either the 3 min or 1 min enrage warning, I'm not positive which, because by that point it was getting a bit intense.
The best part was our three dead casuals going absolutely crazy that it was "one of their own" (i.e a non-raider) who helped down the boss. They were so caught up in the moment, getting on gchat and singing his praises, and the rest of the guild congratulating him...so cute >.<

The GMs were a husband (priest healer) and wife (warrior MT) team
tell me who wears the trousers in that relationship...
