Essentially what I want to do, is scan the auction house for specific items and post the prices to a PHP script running on my PC.
Currently I'm tracking prices in an excel spreadsheet but it's time comsuming.
It looks like I can use
QueryAuctionItems()
to query the values for the specific items but is it possible to make a HTTP (or socket) connection outwards?
I'm guessing it's possible because how else would wow census and gathererdb work?
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks

They save the data as an addon's saved vars. Pretty much the best thing you could do short of hacking or copy/pasting, neither of which I would recommend.

Hmm ok I'll have to save to file and import it.

You could ask how the WOWhead client tracks looting data...not sure if they would reveal their secrets tho.

It's not much of a secret. The addon gathers and saves the data, and the .exe (possibly parses and) uploads it.
