I've played off and on for years on a piece of junk but WoW seems to get more taxing every expansion. I can't do anything more than a 5man and dread going into town, especially dalaran.
I already play on the lowest settings that you can configure in the menu so that's not a concern. I just want to get decent fps in towns and such. I would like to build something that I could upgrade later on but allow me to do 10 mans right now. Any specific brands?

Just pick a machine that has at least 4 GB of ram, and a dedicated video card (not an integrated card on the motherboard) and you'll be fine. Now, i'm willing to bet that Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 will have bigger video requirements than WoW does, so if you're looking to the future, get a good video card, but you don't have to go nuts. I spent $60 on a 1 GB Nvidia 210

I have stated in another thread, and if you live in the US, I would try
www.cyberpowerpc.com
I bought one from them over a year ago, and have been very happy with it. You can customize most of the stuff from a wide variety, ranging from your mobo, processor, video card, ram, etc
I would look there and compare it to what you would spend building yourself.
To give you insight, I didn't buy the best of the best.....I got a dual core pentium 2.66, got 1X1gig ram (bought the rest from newegg at a considerbly cheaper price, upping it to 3X1gig) got a mid quality video card (8600gt), and I usually run 50-60fps, except sometimes in Dalagran, where it may drop to 35fps.
best of luck

Any way you could give us a budget? If you build it yourself, you can get a good midrange computer capable of running WoW on max settings while leaving room to grow for around 700. If you can give us a figure to work with, I'm sure myself or one of the other computer nerds around here can recommend specific parts.
