Hey, all,
I've been having some issues with the Wowhead Looter since I upgraded to Windows 7. For some reason, it doesn't seem to be catching or uploading the information to the site. I was wonder if anyone else was experiencing issues with the looter and knew what was going on? I like contributing to the site and would like to know how I could continue to do so. Thanks in advance!

Did you upgrade from Vista or XP? If you upgraded from XP, you may want to try running WoW as administrator to allow it to modify the contents of your Interface and/or WTF folders. I have to do this with WoWMatrix now otherwise it won't update my addons.

I ugraded from Vista. I've tried running WoW as an admin and tried running the Looter as an admin, and have had the same issue. I really can't figure out what's going on.

Can you explain in more detail the difficulty you're having? Possibly with screenshots?

The Wowhead Looter doesn't seem to be collecting the data in WoW as I play and uploading it to the site. The Looter is checked in my addons to load screen, the Looter Addon is loading according to my chatlog in game, and the Looter GUI is looking in the right directory for my WoW install. I have tried running the Looter as an admin, running WoW as an admin, reinstalling the Looter and the addon in the game, but nothing seems to work.
It's looking in the right place:

The Looter seems to be loading:

The Looter GUI shows nothing:

I spent about seven hours grinding oozes since I last changed any settings for the Looter or did a reinstall, attempting to farm a vanity pet; it should have plenty of data, but there's nothing. There's some disconnect along the way.
All of this happened when I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. It worked perfectly well before that.

I'm having a similar issue as well, and I'm on windows 7. This is the first time I've used Wowhead Looter, so I don't have any previous experience with it, but mine will collect data, but NOT upload it. It sits at 3% of 804.7 KB and does nothing else. I'm including a screenshot of the issue I'm having. It has been sitting at uploading 3% for 5 minutes already. And for being so helpful in advance, I left my background of the hot Olivia Munn visible. =)
Thanks,
Yarano

Edit: It just stopped at 100% but said error in upload. I'm sending another pic with this info.

Another edit:
RESOLVED! I found out what the issue is. It is windows 7 itself. I ran XP mode virtaul pc from my windows 7, and clicked update and it instantly went through with no problems whatsoever. So I tried back on windows 7 again and it halted again and would not go through. I even tried going into the program properties and telling it to run in compatibility for xp service pack 3 and as administrator and still would not update. So it seems as though Wowhead Looter has a conflict with windows 7. If the programmer could see what the conflicting code is and fix it so the program will work in windows 7 that would be fantastic!
That's what I found out doing my own troubleshooting, but it seems so far that it is a issue with windows 7 only.

I'm having the same problem as you but except it's stopping at 42% then says error. I have vista though and not 7 and this problem has never occured for me.
