Nice to see the improvement ^_^ Suggestion: try and run a few more tests. Do 2-3 runs (5 minutes - 2 berserks) with each gear setup and then calculate an average value for each gear combo. This way you'll reduce the bias caused by more or less lucky streaks of critical hits / ticks. But I guess we can safely deduce from the results you posted that, in your current situation, 4xT9 provides the best DPS.
Usually it is only logical that keeping some pieces that also grant set bonuses will provide better DPS that using generic non BiS pieces. The extra 5% crit to Ferocious Bite may not be much indeed, but it adds nicely to the damage done by Rip. And Rip is an important component of pussy cat DPS.
About gemming, there are a few healthy principles when filling sockets for a DPS spec.
1. The
meta gem requirement is fulfilled with a
Nightmare Tear. Try to place this gem in a blue socket and try to chose the blue socket that provides the best bonus *
2. All other sockets should be filled straight out with +20 agility (or +20 armor penetration if you are going for that) gems.
3. Use +10 agility +10 crit rating gems
only in those
yellow sockets that provide an outstanding bonus. Example:
T9 helmet. Usually bonuses worth considering are +8 agility, +8 crit or +16 attack power. Any less than this (+6 or +4 bonus) means the socket gets a red +20 gem.
* The reason for which Nightmare Tear should be placed in a blue socket (if possible) is that yellow sockets with outstanding bonuses are best filled with +10 agi +10 crit gems.
You say you are also tanking in some raids. I suggest you try and obtain a second set of gear and dedicate it to that role. A DPS gear full with agility will provide a nice tanking setup but it will lack the HP needed to tank hard hitting mobs / bosses.
