Ok, so on my new horde mage, I planned to turn off exp at 60 (then later 70) and just do raids to gear up..
I remember reading that the exp off turns off ALL exp, even in raids and quest
but now my guildie is telling me it only turns off BG exp
was this changed?
an answer would be appreciated <3

Last time I heard, it turned off all EXP.
But, EXP gained through raids is extremely minimal. Literally, you'd have to do that raid hundreds of hundreds of times to even begin to worry about anything.

I forced myself to roll a BE mage just for the purpose of 70 twink... The only way I could ever convince myself was telling myself over and over again that BEs looked the best in cloth armor...lol

Dont want to sound rude but this is a bad idea.
1-Who will you run raids with? Everyone else is level 80
2-Who will you do bgs with? First of all very few people bg in the 70 bracket. 2nd your gonna be in the no-xp 70 bracket, no ones in there.
3-The gear you get from 60 and raids will be replaced in seconds in outlands and northrend.
4- The honor you get in the 60 and 70 bgs is extreamly small compaired to 80 bgs.
If you just want to see the content get 80 and do it then. Its exactly the same just you dont wipe as much.

Uhhh, I think it's for fun and not for progression. and you're wrong, there are lots of players who make toons stuck at 60 to go through the old world progression. "Everyone" isn't level 80 or interested in being level 80.
I doubt that they're concerned with replacing gear in outland as they are playing old world content only. this is not uncommon.
And also... people play the game differently than you do... news at 11...

I'm no expert but I think World of Warcraft is a game and games are mainly about having fun. Having that been said, I say that if turning off XP allows the original poster to have fun raiding classic content then they should be allowed regardless of who believes its a bad or good idea.
There are plenty of other players nostalgic about vanilla WoW raids doing the same very thing. One would just have to find a server where this practice is popular to meet the 40 player requirement.

Least his way, he can experience the fights at the intended difficulty and see why Twin Emps and C'thun were raid breakers back in the day.

Its would take FOREVER to get 40 level 60's for a aq or something.
And the same for bgs, Their are VERY few people in the no-xp level 60 braket.
Unless you think waiting around is fun I doubt staying at level 60 or 70 would be fun at all.
Also if you want a challenge just bring fewer 80s, not the same true but you will find enough 80's who would like to do it, rather then 60's

This is true, you could probably do raids ok by finding a guild that chooses to stay at level 60 (TBH this sounds kinda fun) But you would have to find that guild and then move to that server, and pvp would still be as hard unless there is a guild of the oppisite factioin doing the same thing. (If this is the case it could turn out to be fun, if you find a guild that dose this let me know)
The main issue is just finding enough other people to do this with you, otherwise your gonna be lonely.
