5-MAN WRATH HEROIC ACHIEVEMENT DESCRIPTIONS
**I began to write this quite some time before Ulduar even came out, so some of it is very outdated. I tried to remain 'neutral', if you will, when I first wrote, but have since changed that. I have tried to update all achievements to current gear levels, but I left what I had orginially written.**
<^> When I talk about myself from first person, i.e. 'I', I am the tank of the group. 'We' refers to the group as a whole. I started to write it for people that I would help out with all of the achievements, so it was written in that manner for a reason. But I have since broadened the targeted readers. <^>
I realize this is old content, sort of, but my main reason for posting is solely for my own pleasure. As stated previously, I started this before Ulduar was released, but then I forgot about it when I quit for a few months. I finally found it recently and decided to finish it off. The current finished product is not perfect, but it brings me pleasure to see completion. -- Bootsz(z)
Also, due to my failure, ghost posts have appeared :P So bear with me. But all of what I wrote is in this one page.
Disclaimer -- Some of these methods may not work due to changes in patches that I did not note.
The Heroics are listed in alphabetical order, so it goes: (The number in the same line as the heroic tells what number post that instance is found -- best system I could implement at the current moment for directory assistance)

Elder Nadox
_| (
Respect Your Elders
)
The group starts out on the ramp right outside the entrance. A person with sprint or some sort of speed buff is quite helpful as that person can pull the boss and sprint back to the group (<3 Sub Rogues). The boss is picked up and then killed.
Apparently, in patch 3.0.8, they added an enrage to Nadox so that when he is kited he enrages and one shots everybody. So, the main method of doing this achievement is to have someone in the group kite the guardians.

We will have one of our DPS drop and then we kill him normally, nothing is different except there's 4 people.

Do not hit the adds unless you are a warrior or druid in bear form and want some free rage. When she is enraged, her '
Cyclone Strike
' cast deals 18000 damage approximately to the tank and much more to anyone in melee who can't mitigate some of the damage, it is a 1.5 second cast (roughly 6 yard radius). To best avoid that, melee should attempt to run out when she casts it, although very commonly I indulge in watching melee die to it.

We will be burning through the insanity. This means that we will go moderate dps until about 75-70%. At that point, you go all out and use all CD's, anything, just burn, burn, burn. If successful, Herald will be below 33% after his cast of Insanity and will immediately begin casting a second time. After the second cast, he can be attacked, and we will do so.
Pretty much, nowadays, this achievement relies on killing the adds very fast. If everyone takes care of their adds quickly and does over 3k DPS, pretty much going to make it, although might be close. But with people these days being able to pull 4-6k+ on boss fights in 5-mans, it makes it even easier.
I have also done this in less than 1 and a half minutes with 4 people, all who know what to do, and both dps above 3.5k and the healer around 2k. Basically just about how fast you can kill your adds.

Krik'thir the Gatewatcher
_| (

-KILL WEB WRAPS-
--Boomkin Kite
Tank charges the left group after Heroic Throwing the Shadowcaster on the far right group. I will pop cooldowns and wait for all the mobs to arrive, at that point (when all the watchers and everything are ontop of me) the Boomkin will AoE them as much as possible and get aggro on as much as possible. I will then charge the boss and the group burns. The Boomkin will be bringing them all back to the start of the instance, keeping aggro the whole way. When the Boomkin reaches the start, put up HoTs and go Bear and pop Barkskin, etc... anything that will extend your life.
--Murdering Adds
We will be taking the groups one by one and killing all of the adds (NOT the Watchers). When there is just the 3 Watchers alive, I will charge the boss and we burn the boss hard.
--With the gear available these days, should be relatively easy to just go in and grab everything, as the tank, and AoE everything down. My group was almost able to do this back before Ulduar came out, so should be no problem now.
The biggest hurdle to jump over is most likely the
Disorient
from Watcher Narjil, so be prepared to deal with this, as mobs run wild when the tank is disoriented.

Hadronox
_| (
Hadronox Denied
)
We will be killing the Crushers one-by-one. When the last one dies, I will be waiting on the right side of the platform we came down on (Right side while looking at the stairs where adds are spawning). I will grab the boss when he comes up and pretty normal from there. He might kill a few adds and heal, but just don't stand in clouds, stay alive, and keep up DPS.
Poison
Easy mode -- Get off the ramp and go to the left...closest to the tunnel heading down where Hadronox is normally. Take a
Crashin' Thatshin' Racer Controller
and use it. Run it into a crusher, the crushers attacks it, it dies, the crushers and all the adds despawn, group runs down the tunnel, engage Hadronox when he spawns again, kill him. Once he dies, you have a few choices, all pertaining to the spawning adds. You can jump down and they won't be able to follow, or you can kill all that aggros onto you.

DPS race really. The achievement was changed from 2 to 4 minutes, so it is vastly easier, but it still requires competent players and able DPS. Curse of Tongues can be helpful on the boss and DPS needs to be hard. Bloodlust will be popped whenever it is necessary (someone will call it out).
Again, with the new gear, pretty much a free achievement. Used to have to do enough dps to skip two entire burrows - 25% - in perfect conditions - at 75% he casts and the group does mad burst dps, to below 50%, then he burrows. Then from 50% to 0% doing the same thing.

Zombiefest
_|
We will do everything normally, up until the second boss. I will be kiting the second boss into the house where we fight the third boss. Nobody DPS until he's there and everyone is inside. We will probably have to call out a 'STOP DPS' because we need to wait for the Zombies we just killed while kiting to respawn. Again, we will call out when to start DPS again. From there on, we do the third boss' event and kill him. Someone will talk to Arthas to open the bookshelf and the group goes down near Arthas, but still in the building. Then, I will go out and gather up all the zombies in the first area and bring them all back, we wait for them ALL to arrive and then kill them, we 'power pull' until we have killed the 100 we need. After the first set of Zombies that I bring over have been AoE'd and we're pulling, I'm going to pull a good amount of things and pop cooldowns, AoE Hard.
>>To clean up that old explanation, I need to mention a few things. First, when you kite the second boss into the building, you need to kill any zombies along the way that you pull, the faster the better. When the second boss is in the building, you need to wait until you see the zombies right outside the door respawn, then give it 10-20 more seconds, then kill the boss and move on.
Funny story -- I ran back gathering the Zombies from the first area with our priest healer. He cast a Power Word: Shield on me and got aggro on everything. He sees everything turn toward him and aggro onto him. He instantly dc's.
As a note,
Damage Shield
, for example, might not be helpful here, although it shouldn't kill any Zombies while you bring them back, but keep it in mind in case it does kill some.
Also Note -- VERY IMPORTANT -- I lacked to give this earlier, and this is the most important part of the achievement. It is the reason why you kiite the second boss and wait for respawns -- After the second boss dies, no Zombie will respawn, ever.

The Culling of Time
_|
Just do it fast. It was and pretty much has remained a very easy achievement. Don't stop and don't die. And even if you do die, it is possible to still do it. My record is 2 deaths and still completion. Just talk to
Chromie
when you get back into the instance.
In case this is not common knowledge, to get to the
Infinite Corruptor
-- after the gauntlet leading to
Mal'ganis
run past the big gate and continue on that path.
My record is somewhere between 12 and 16 minutes left when the Infinite Corruptor died.

I will be tanking him 'here' on this side of the pillar. A DPS will run to the top of the stairs after he is pulled and kill all of the adds (DO NOT let them get down, and DO NOT kill them close to him). Everyone else will be on the other side of the pillar, until it is called to move into LoS and DPS, at that point, do so. You now have about 10 seconds to DPS, and we will call out to hide again. Everyone must be paying attention, as one person not running out of LoS and getting hit by
Consume
can ruin the achievement.
It seems in some patch that they made this a laughable dps race.

Novos the Summoner
_| (
Oh Novos!

This is quite easy. All DPS stay on the stairs and kill any adds you see. I will pull the added casters that are summoned to the stairs. 2 DPS switch to it, and one DPS keep killing adds.
Or you could have 2 DPS on the stairs and one DPS killing Summoners with me, it honestly doesn't matter, this shouldn't really be an achievement.

_| (

Instead of killing the Drakkari Gutrippers before we pull, I will pull them into the fight. AoE will be called for, and at that time, DPS needs top AoE. We might also call for a 'ceasefire' because we have not killed 6 yet. I will go pull whatever more we need, DPS kills the Gutripper, and then resumes on the Boss.

Snakes, Why'd It Have To Be Snakes?

We will be skipping this boss until we kill the
Drakkari Colossus
. After that is dead, everyone will stay in the room and wait for me to bring Slad'ran to you. Kill him normally, and the only snakes we will get are the ones that do not
Skane Wrap
. LoS the Poison Nova or outrange it when he casts it. After he is ead, there will, however, be a pile of Constrictors at Slad'ran's platform. We run back and kill them.
Another achievement that is changed by gear, although I realize it was still quite easy to do it the legit way back in the day. The easiest way is to just dps his down; he should be dead before you get wrapped.

Moorabi
_| (
Less-rabi
)
We will be standing here and will not get in combat. If you do though, use whatever you can to take you out, and if he targets you after the puller Feigns or Vanishes, etc... we will have to wipe it (or leave the instance) and try again. The person who is pulling will wait until Moorabi turns into a Mammoth, then Feigns, Vanishes, Shadowmeld, etc... I will be on his platform awaiting his arrival and pick him up before he changes back rom the reset. DPS normally. THIS NO LONGER WORKS :(
It's an all out burn these days, and the dps needs to be at least 3.5k each, I believe. My favorite method is 4 DPS and a Tank. Shamans are really nice for Bloodlust / Heroism at the start. Makes sure to have at least one or two people that can cancel spells though. He casts at 50%, then around 20-30%, and then somewhere below that, with each subsequent cast being significantly faster.
Transformation
I did this very recently on my Shaman with two of the dps doing about 7.3k DPS and he died in 16 seconds after only casting once at 50%.

We will have two tank types for this. One will start with aggro and wait until he impales the other tank, then the tank that has just been impaled will taunt. Once he gets to 30%ish, slow DPS and stop before 20%. At this point, we wait for him to impale the people that have not yet had the pleasure.

Everyone who needs the achievement will stand directly ontop of the tank (which will be in front of him). He will cast
Eck Spit
, and it should hit everyone in front of him and give them a debuff called
Eck Residue
. We then go kill the last boss with that on and achievement done. As a note, if you die with it on, it does not get reapplied.

He will occasionally run to his anvil and
summon
little adds that run around and don't really have aggro, although the tank can taunt them off for a short period of time. DPS burns. He casts
Shattering Stomp
occasionally which shatters the adds. Pretty easy with able DPS.

Always remember to run out of the

Everyone in the group needs to stay max range on me. I will bring him back so as to never be in range of a Rift, myself. Every 25% he loses, he summons a
Chaotic Rift
that makes him
immune
to all dmg. I will run back and everyone stay away from me. Kill adds, but do not AoE on top of Rifts. This is the hardest part: controlling adds.
Another way, probably the legit way, is to just last the 45 seconds or so that the rifts are up. I forget how rough it is to have 3-6 of them up at a time, but I'm pretty sure it's not too difficult.

DPS control is the key to this. Single-target each one down to about 10-20%, then AoE them all down is the easiest way to do it. Or you can just AoE from the start. Either way, make sure they all die within 5 seconds of eachother, and do it twice.

The part of this achievement that you need to bypass are the
chains
she casts on everyone which prevent you from moving. One method is to stack on the priest and have him Mass Dispell when it happens, or you can use a PvP trinket or dispell yourself. Also,
Every Man for Himself
works if you're Human. Other than the dispell, cast once or twice (depending on cast time) and move, never let your stacks of
Intense Cold
go over 2 stacks.

Make it Count
_|
Just do it fast, just like a timed CoS. Don't aggro extra dragons while flying from platform to platform, but also don't dismount too early, as some may be pulled accidentally. Clear all the dragons flying above the second boss's platform (
Varos Cloudstrider
). Do Eregos the 'cookie-cutter' way as well - 3 Amber, Ruby, Emerald...or you can sacrifice an Amber for an Emerald if necessary.

|_
Experienced Drake Rider
_|
Self-explanatory - kill Ley-Guardian Eregos on an Amber, Emerald, and Ruby drakes.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
|_
Emerald, Ruby, Amber Void
_|
Emerald Void
Amber Void
This one is the easiest. The easiest setup is 1 or 2 Rubies and 3-4 Emeralds. Takes some time, but pretty easy. I am also intrigued by the idea of a 2-person kite using 1 Ruby and 1 Emerald. The Ruby makes quick work of the whelps, and other than that, the Ruby just sits back and using the shield and the ablility to make all incoming casts go to it when
Eregos
enrages. However, it could mean that the Ruby might die prematurely -- will test sometime.
Ruby Void
There are a few ways to do this one, but all require everyone to stay mobile. I am convinced that it is possible to kite Eregos on an Emerald Drake, which is one way. Note: This is best done while also doing Amber Void - 5 Emeralds. One person kites, one person keeps up the
dmg reducing debuff
on Eregos, and the rest dps/heal. When I was kiting him, I was able to heal myself, only slightly hard part was the enrages, but if done correctly, you should stay alive, but make sure the debuff is on Eregos when he enrages. NOTE: Kiting was possible, but it is now near impossible. The whelps that spawn have pretty much an infinite range, so they kill you while you kite Eregos. However, I am confident that if you were able to keep up
poison stacks
on Eregos and as many whelps as possible the healing recieved would outweigh the damage done, at least for a while. Just need to keep the debuff on Eregos and always have at least 4-6 targets with full stacks of poison. I have tried this without an addon or macro for it and it's near imposible to kite and keep stacks up, however, a DoT timer addon might help significantly.
*Another way is to do Emerald and Ruby at the same time - 5 Amber Drakes. This took me the longest, and it requires coordination and people knowing what to do. It is easiest to explain this using group numbers. By that, I mean the group is split up, like a Melee group on Kel'thuzad - Group 1 will consist of 1-2 people. Group 2 will consist of the rest of the group. When you go in, Group 1 immediately
channels
, while group 2 casts. When Group 1 has 4+ charges, they stop channeling and Group 2 begins to channel. After all of Group 2 has started channeling, Group 1
fires one shot
, which should give group 2 a full stack of charges. Groups then switch again - Group 1 channeling, Group 2 waits for all of Group 1 to channel and then fires a shot, and repeat that. Have a
Time Stop
rotation set as well. NOTE: It is extremely important that the group that has shock charges and has just finished channeling does NOT fire the shot before everyone in the other group has started channeling. It often requires the group with charges to wait a few seconds before they shoot, but it is very important to wait.*
Also, one slight change could to the above explanation could help -- Do what it says to do at the start, but have one of the people shooting first cast Time Stop, which will give everyone some Shock Charge, thusly speeding up the first transition. If this method is done correctly, only one or two enrages should occur -- after each
Planar Shift
phase (66% and 33%), so just save two stops for those, but you can use the other three liberally.

Eadric the Pure
_| (

Pretty easy really. This requires him to be at low health when the player throws the hammer, so it takes some timing on the hammer throwers part mainly. A
Grounding Totem
will 'dispel' the hammer, you can
cleanse
the debuff and the person will get the hammer, you can
spell reflect
. Pretty much any group can do it. It will usually be the second time he throws a hammer that you'll need to use it for the achievement.

_| (

If everyone has a sense of the enviroment around them, this is very easy. The ghouls stand still and grow in size when they are going to explode, just don't be near them when that happens. The hardest part for this is phase 2, but kiting diffuses the difficulty pretty much. At the end of each phase, any ghoul(s) left alive will explode, just do not be near them.

Svala Sorrowgrave
_| (
The Incredible Hulk
)
There are 3
Hulks
near the boss that could still be alive when you get to her, so you have a few tries. The basic strategy is to pull a Hulk before the fight starts and get it down to 20-30%. Then fight the boss, and do not use any AoE, as it will likely kill the Hulk. When Svala flies up and
drops a sword
, hold the Hulk on the platform so that the sword will hit it. If taken low enough before hit by the sword, the Hulk will die on the first one. Might take a few tries to get it right, but it's not too challenging.

Skadi the Ruthless
_|
Lodi Dodi We Loves the Skadi
(I sing this and the next one in vent when I run this -- everyone enjoys)
My Girl Loves to Skadi All the Time
I am going to put these together, since they are easily done at the same time. One strat involves gathering the
harpoons
and then resetting the encounter. Then, when you start it again, you have all the harpoons you need (5) and can get him down on the first pass. It's possible to get both without resetting, just takes a little bit of good dps and concious players. Just make sure to not shoot a harpoon before you plan to bring him down in one shooting phase. Note: One person can shoot 5 harpoons in one phase - Start at one gun, shoot, run quickly to another, shoot, run back the original gun, shoot, run back to the other shoot, run back to the original, shoot. Anyways, these achievement names are my favorite 5-man ones.

Ichoron
_| (
Dehydration
)
The boss has a
shield
on with a counter on it - starts near 35 charges. Each hit takes away a charge. When it reaches 0 charges, Ichoron
breaks up
into many small elementals. You have to kill all of them before a single one reaches his body on the floor or to him when he becomes active again. The easiest way of doing this is to use the Crystal Defense system or whatever it is. They don't activate immediately upon use though, so you have to time it well. That Strat also makes the achievement 'Defenseless' not work, but many people get Defenseless on their first run through, so probably not a problem. If you don't want to use the Defenses though, just make sure to kill them before they get to him, not much more to say about that. When he becomes active after breaking apart, the tank can kite him away, although he sometimes likes to sit and cast.

Another one that only requires doing Violet Hold a lot of times, yay for luck.

Zuramat the Obliterator
_| (
A Void Dance
)
Don't kill the
Void Sentries
. He will allow a person to
see
the sentries, during the time that they can see them, that person is able to kill them - Do not kill them. This is mainly healing intensive, although it's not too bad. Zuramat puts up a buff on himself called
Shroud of Darkness
. While that buff is active on him, every time you hit Zuramat you will get a stacking debuff that reduces the effectiveness of healing on you, which can aid in you dying, since there is a lot of AoE on this fight. The debuff only lasts for a few seconds though, so stopping attacking, even for a second, can help.

Defenseless
_|
Really easy to do. Don't let any mobs get to the door and don't use the Defense Cystal System things that are around the room - red crystals that almost look like lamps coming out from walls. Most people get this their first time through, since using the Crystals really don't do much other than waste time.
