Stealth, Shadowmeld, the Dogs of War, and Things That Baffle me in PvP

Okay, so I am getting closer and closer to Arena's. I have ran into some serious issues regarding feral pvp, and wanted to pop a few questions at those who regularly pvp as a druid.
1. What do you do when faced with the absolutely awful enhance shaman dogs? Unless the shaman is seriously undergeared I can't kill him faster than he can be healed by the dogs. I have tried running away shadowmelding and then stealthing, but the dogs just stay there looking at me. This doesn't happen with any other pets, just the dogs.
2. How do you kill a prot paladin without actually killing yourself? Do I just go to bear pretty soon? I don't even get hit by them and end up at 20 percent health before I kill them the first time.
3. Are priests our counter class? Disc priests and shadow priests are a freaking headache and a half for me to kill, and I read that shadow priests are getting a damage increase. Their instant fear, heals and dot damage wreck havoc on me.
4. Do I cyclone the healer or the guy being healed? Yesterday I taught a feral druid how to use his cyclone in bg's to eliminate self heals, and to stop a caster from preventing you from healing. We then guarded an ab flag forever ccing and destroying people as they came up.
5. Is it a bad idea to do arenas with another druid due to DR on our CC?
6. When pvping as resto, is it ever wise to get out of tree form? I ask because I fought a tree the other day, and for some odd reason he kept getting out of tree form to roots or attempt to hibernate me, at which point I would cyclone or stun him and then beat him down in caster form.
7. Is it pointless to cast roots when feral? Do you ever use Hibernate?
8. When facing melee is there a certain class that you should switch to bear at automatically? or is more a feeling shift? Should a boomkin or tree ever change to bear except to stun?
I understand there is a thread dedicated to feral pvp, but a few of my questions are in regards to pvp in general as a druid. I wanted to go 10 questions, but the other 2 are more or less related to the top 8. Any help would be appreciated. I tend to be very detailed as you can see from my dw dps guide over on the dk side. I used to do arenas in tbc as an enhance shaman (absolutely brutal) so I am used to exact timing on all procs. But these questions baffled me, and ej's completely ignores or is so outdated in it's druid threads that my only resource is generally here. Every pvp druid I run into on Emerald dream generally is resto or if they go as feral, they say just keep practicing you will get the hang of it eventually it's all a feeling. I am not sure if that's true or not. When 80 percent of the time the answer is "depends" it's kind of odd.

sure got a lot of questions but hey, so do i =)
i'll try to answer them as best i can
when an enhancement shaman pops wolves just get some distance or go bear popping cds if needed till they go away then beat on him (never got a chance to see if i could root/hibernate the wolves)
prot pallies are definitely unbalanced, when you see divine plea i'd say maim then get some distance/restealth till it falls off, if you keep attacking you'll just refresh its duration and help them keep their mana up
basically maim/roots + bleeds are my approach to cat vs tank and knowing when you should NOT hit them
disc priests won't die if they don't want to, about sums them up
shadow priests tend to be a dps race and berserk followed by everything you've got is about all you can hope for
who to cyclone is hard to say, depends on the situation in question,
i'd personally say
tree=cyclone the partner, gang up on the tree
disc priest=cyclone the priest, gang up on the partner
holy pally=cyclone the pally, gang up on the partner
resto shaman=cyclone the shaman, gang up on the partner
same spec? prob not terrible but yes you'll have shared DR
you'd have enough dps to gank one of the opponents before they knew what hit em though
pounce the healer and burn em down while the other hibernates/cyclones the partner then joins in on the healer bashing, you should be able to drop them fairly quickly together then the partner shouldn't stand a chance
so long as you're wise about when you do it, rooting a druid isn't very wise though, hibernating them is =)
when ur in a bind and need a few secs for your partner/s to save you setting up hots and going bear, popping cds as needed, isn't a bad idea
also if you've specced into IS to help keep the heat on the other team you'll have to pop out to MF/IS now and then but only when you don't need to be in tree form
think i just answered this one, yeah kindof silly to root a druid, some druids will just stand there dumbfounded though, i'd always consider hibernate as my number 1 choice against a feral if they don't have any dots, cyclone is your second choice, roots is just an amusing nuisance to us
for balance/resto bear is just an oh *!@# button which then has an additional oh &*!@ button (FR)
cats can definately do some damage in bear, for that i'd say stay cat to pressure them then if/when they pop something scary and you can't CC or escape then go bear and keep the heat on while you wait it out, using cds as needed
hope i was of some help

Wow, Hashmel, thank you very much. I appreciate how detailed your responses were. I am a very detailed person, and figure that in order to get to the best answer I have to find my way along, but it's much easier to just follow the signs. I took all of wotlk off of pvp and came back with a vengeance I dropped my shaman because I just don't like the changes to the play style of the enhancement shaman. I may relevel him to be my pve caster, but not sure.
- Prot Pali's Divine Plea, oh man, I hate looking for procs on people. It makes my job twice as hard. Good to know that bleeding them up and running away is the best plan of attack haha.
-I fought over a flag one time with 7 horde beating on me. I had a priest hiding in the corner healing me as I swipe/mangle/mauled them for 5 minutes before the priest ran out of mana and I died haha.

be sure to cyclone the shadowfiend or them to prevent any mana regain.
I'm fairly certain if the priest is cycloned but the shadowfiend not (and is still doing damage) the priest will receive mana even while cycloned. Cycloning/kiting the fiend itself is the only way to block the mana return.

Thank you for all your help. Did my first venture into Arenas yesterday, and it was quite fun. I forgot to CC the DPS or healer half a dozen times. Other than that. I remembered to wait out the dogs of war and heroism. They focused on our healer, I sat there and waited and waited than pounced their healer while the rest of them were far away. Once the dogs were almost up I dropped the shaman in no time flat. Excellent advice on waiting them out.
I almost got destroyed by a warrior while in cat mode, but remembered the advice so hit him with a rip and flipped to bear popped my cooldowns and waited for him to die. Thank you again.
I do have to admit I pulled a stupid mode and went looking for a rogue (subtelty come to find out). Yeah he saw me and owned me pretty well, locking me down far away from my healer.
