If I could make a suggestion it would be that you should play in windowed mode. I personally get way more fps and don't have to worry about it going slow when I switch to music or my web browser.
If you refuse to play in a window you can check:
Windowed Mode
Maximized
This will make it look like you're playing full screen but don't have to alt-tab, you can just hit the start key and save tons of time.
Third option: keep having to wait 15 seconds for stuff to load.

For anyone who experiences the glitch where when you alt-tab out of WoW and come back and it's laggy and almost unplayable, I have a simple solution!
All you need to do is go to Options>Advanced>and check off the box saying "Max Background Fps" and set it to 100. Viola!
Sometimes Windows has issues of swapping where RAM and CPU usage is needed most, but by doing this when you minimize WoW, to the computer, you aren't minimizing it and there is no RAM and CPU swapping. Happy Gaming!
