Check your drivers. My copy of WoW runs just fine on Win7 x64 pro.

Just because windows 7 found drivers does not mean they're up-to-date. Windows 7 found my nvidia drivers for me too, but they were almost 3 months out of date. The way the win7 drivers system functions is exactly like XBox live updates. The developer needs to first submit a new driver, Microsoft then needs to verify it, and then it's finally pushed to the end-user. This can take quite a while, and the developers usually have more stable drivers for download off their site than what windows is serving up to you.
