Is there any way to force new posters to come through this thread to get to the paladin forum? I'd love that.
We were all forum noobs once.
Perhaps an auto-reply response with a link to the stickies?
Or a confirmation box asking you if you read the stickies (with link) that you must click before you can post a new topic?

I vote a thread up near the top that says 'Read before posting!'
Oh wait....
Methinks we need another exclamation point in that.
/sarcasm
Seeing as both the FAQ and the Stat Weights are themselves 'Helpful Threads' I vote they be removed from the top of the main page and moved into here to give this thread supremacy.

I'd pay that, but only to some extent. I ran across someone in the PvP forums who was disparaging Paladins on the basis that our FAQ is currently labelled 'HURF DURF'.
We probably do need an FAQ that points to the same threads as listed in the helpful threads, but also contains a general summary of things, without getting into too much detail. Things like how much AP you get from Str, how much mana you get from Int, etc.
If we kept it fairly clean, it'd be reasonably easy to update. Consider it like a Prima strategy guide or something, that describes, but without the excessive commentary as to what spec/talent is best/worst/useful/useless etc.
Edit: Less FAQ, more 'summary'. FAQ can be at the bottom of each section and providing non-spec-specific advice.

Yet people still don't click on it.
still voting for the prompt before posting new threads.

I actually think that people are clicking on the FAQ, and aren't having their questions answered, and moving straight on to ask, rather than viewing the helpful threads.

Add a note to the top of the FAQ, "If you can'd find your answers in here, look
there
instead".
Problem solved.
Note: People are still not going to read either the FAQ or the helpful threads you know ;p

Putting my idiot-proofing thread here might keep everyone's blood pressure down a little bit. Probably just wishful thinking, though.

Was thinking of writing something at the top.
Before posting any new thread read this.
But then again they're already instructed to read this thread before posting.
I dont feel like putting it just like any other thread under the General section since then people will just ignore it like the other threads.
If anyone has any awesome ideas on how to do it in a non-cluttering-good-looking-attention-drawing-kinda-way please say so.

Meh, not really. We already have plenty of things literally stickied, and you're right about no one reading it under the general section.

GUISE THIS THREAD IS SIXTH ON THE PAGE!1 PANIC!112
On a serious note, I only just realized my guide is titled 'Holy paladin guide' despite me not having a clue about Holy leveling or PvP and I've just changed the name to '3.2.2 Holy Paladin end-game PvE guide' to reflect that. Would you mind changing your link, svirve?

People level as Holy?
I was going to say in the humour thread:
Q: How does a Holy paladin level to 80?
A: By respec'ing Ret.
But I didn't think it'd go down that well ^^

Check my 'holy leveling guide' right at the top of my holy guide.

I don't want to kill my post count QQ...I'll wait till it gets re-stickied :P
It doesn't kill your post count, you can post 5000 meaningless threads and keep the post count if you delete them all =)
Though i'll keep on with the meaningless chatter until it gets stickied again, it makes us seem more civil ^^
