I wanted to ask about DDO

Dungeons and Dragons Online is one of the common playing game, aside from Runescape.
After reading the enlisted "Wizards of the coasts" supporting it, i desperately want to try it.
However, I just cant get in to the game for some reason. I mean I was able to see the clip, I was also able to create the character and select the server. I even double checked the requirements and my system is over those requirements. Everytime I try to log in and get to the loading page, it just kicked me out with a warning "server was disconnected." I wanted to ask DDO players if the game is bugged.

I just was able to log on perfectly fine.
There was an update today, maybe you just got on at a bad time?

that thing too! At update it showed me an error. I have no idea whats going on with the client.
would changing the server fix the problem?
Or should I wipe the DDO clean out of my system and reinstall it?

Dungeons and Dragons
And I can't offer any technical advice on DDO, I haven't been been at it long enough to figure everything out.

Playing actual D&D with real friends, in person.
I haven't actually played DnD pen and paper, but my dad used to always tell me about how before computers his friends would come to his house and they'd go into the basement and play all day. I mean, I LOVE the internet, but it hurts any chance to actually run a game - all my nerdy friends are insanely obsessive with WoW and would rather farm gold than have fun. Sigh.

Buy yourself a starter kit and all the manuals and then give your friends DnD mini-fig sets for Christmas without giving them the receipt? Maybe that would encourage them?
:P
Warning -
If you're going to start out DnD by playing Roleplaying instead of Skirmish, then have a person familiar with RP show you how it's done and all the rules. It will make things so much easier. Skirmish is pretty easy to grasp though.

Oh! now I understood what you meant by "play DnD with pen and paper."
nope I'd rather invest my money for Warhammer / Warhammer 40k tabletop if it comes to that.
The only problem is, you have to construct the board for it and I am too lazy to read the manual for both DnD and Warhammer series. Manual for Rules and regulations, procedure and so on.

hmm...I guess I'll just switch to Legends of Legends and play that aside from wow instead. =S
The game does not seem to work at all!

My best mate from uni did just that (minus mini-figs, but I've got plenty from my old RP days - he and his wife are the RP virgins, but I've never done D&D) - one year on, and we're still trying to find time to sit down and play.
Frustrating thing is, I've got a few skirmishes to get ourselves started and familiarise ourselves with the rules, and loosely designed a campaign to follow-on if they do find that they like it. Just hard when RL gets in the way.
