I am a 77 BM hunter and I've been soloing Sholazar Basin and just started in Storm Peaks last night. It is very easy to do and I'm just using a simple cat, so I would say BM are still superior in terms of leveling.

Doing it as well (
77 atm
) and was doing it with a core hound (the
Kurken
)... and the only lands I've done are Borean and Dragonblight, just started Sholozar yesterday. It's stupid easy and fast.
How is the Kurken? I was thinking about picking him up at 60 for his stellar looks, but wasn't sure how well core hounds fared for leveling. Does he hold aggro well or tank well or does he do more damage?

I leveled as SV and I found it actually a lot of fun. I do awesome dps in instances. I learned to kite like crazy (I was BM for all of vanilla and most of BC). Plus everything is dead before it gets to me anyways.

Any of the talent trees work for leveling. Altho i personally prefer BM. I leveled from 70->74ish as BM, switched to SV, leveled to 78, then changed back to BM untill 80.
Anything works, but as BM you can just send pet into a group of mobs, go have a nice bio-break, and come back when the fight is over. :)

I love him.. but mostly for his looks! ;-) He is great for 1v1 situations and dps is high enough that threat is almost never an issue and mobs die really quickly. Don't bother using him for aoe situations, you will die. He also does very well in instances; at lv 75 I was pulling 1600+ DPS with him.
I finally tamed him and brought him up to my level. Unfortunately he doesn't hold aggro well, even in BM spec. I was hoping he would be a bit better at single target aggro, wasn't holding my breath for multi mob tanking, but I still pull off him on single mobs. I'll end up keeping him for sure, but I think I might go back to my bear pet for now.
