Trolls, you have the Less than sign confused with the Greater than sign, do you really thing Night Elves are the best?
On Topic: I play Horde, I don't see it changing any time soon. The alliance seem a lot more 'Immature' (for lack of a better word) than Hordies, Plus there seems to be a greater sense of pride amongst the Horde, which is something I like. You never hear the Alliance shouting "For the Alliance!" (not only because it sounds stupid).
I have a macro for that...
/y For the Alliance!
When tanking Drek in AV.
Anyway, Alliance FTW. Blood Elves are the only reason the Horde is worth taking a second look at, as far as I'm concerned. (Though I do wish High Elves were available to Alliance rather than Gnomes... I hate Gnomes...)

*** RAWR *** THIS POST CONTAINS LORE! *** RAWR ***
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Horde >_> They are the TRUE Protaginists in Warcraft, some say both sides are just shades of grey...but the only really bad thing the Horde has EVER done it did when it was under the control of pure emotion evoked by a sneaky outside power...who then gave them a easy reached outlet for that rage...
Alliance....has commited mass genocide for no reason other then fear (( Stratholme AND Alterac, as well as a few other places... )), has betrayed its allies and left them to die (( Elves anyone? )), has just been bigots and racists to anyone who tries to help them (( >_> Garithos anyone, Proudmoore maybe? )) There are so many other events I could name to add to this that just show this even more...
Horde....killed a bunch of people yeah (( Only Orcs mind you >_> Forsaken tried to rejoin the Alliance but they were all "gtfo monsters!" Tauren are all Peaceful, Trolls just kinda evolved past Cannibalism >_> And Belfs got betrayed. )) but in the end, they saw what they did was wrong and fixed it...at the cost of one of their greatest Heroes (( Grom >_> )) then they went along, united and became quite a resilient bunch of people who actually worked together and HAY GUESS WUT SAVED THE WURLD! Lawlawlawl. <_< (( That victory was so Thrall....Jaina's base was dead in like 5 minutes....Thralls lasted me till the very end... xD ))
So Yeah....For the Horde Yo >_>
Stratholme was Arthas alone, and most of his men deserted him for it... Pretty sure that doesn't constitute an action by the whole Alliance. Alterac betrayed them. Seems cruel, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Elves, the Humans were losing their soldiers and citizens en masse, Lordaeron had fallen, the King was dead, the Prince betrayed them... Really, they didn't turn their backs on the Elves. They just didn't have the required manpower to help them. Garithos doesn't really count as current Alliance, Proudmoore, you are correct.
I dunno about the Hyjal thing though, Jaina's base lasted me the entire time... Ok, it messed up at 5 minutes, but I had the forces to hold off the scourge inside the town for 5 minutes.

No faction ganks more than the other. No faction is less mature than the other.
Now that thats out of the way, I only went Alliance because friends were on it. I don't like a faction over the other, but I like races over others.
Human/Troll/Dwarf/Gnome/Orcs>Tauren/BloodElf/NightElf/Draenei/Undead
win.
Forgot to add orcs. Fixed.

On the one hand, it's a bit absurd to suggest there are fundamental differences between players you find on one side or the other. For one thing, a
player
isn't Horde or Alliance, a character is. Every player has the freedom to play
both
so it always annoys me when people suggest that someone "is a Horde player" or "is Alliance". I have 70s on both, and anyone else who has played both to end-game can clearly see that players are
mostly
the same everywhere.
That said, there are some differences that are pretty hard to deny. It could be that a certain personality type flocks to one side or the other, or it could be that playing one side or the other brings out certain qualities in a player. But there are some differences I've noticed (most already mentioned):
-When you're doing WSG, for some reason there are a
lot
of Alliance players who love to
spend the entire game in their base
. I have witnessed this phenomenon
so many times
on the Alliance, and
never
on the Horde. Now, you can debate the value of defense in WSG, and how many people are best to leave behind. But I'm talking about the
majority
of your team, spending the
entire game
in the base, regardless of the score. It's like they just refuse to leave, let alone cross the mid-way point into the Horde's side of the field.
-Yes, the Horde seem to be more "confident" in PvP. There are probably a number of reasons for this.
-People who are playing on Horde seem to take the game more "seriously". They seem to strive harder for better gear, better PvP noteriety, etc.
-In PvP, with the Alliance you get more mediocre teams, but the teams that are good are
insanely
good. All in all Alliance players seem to be better at using teamwork to their advantage.
-When entering a random BG, as Alliance you are a
lot
more likely to have players who are very inexperienced in PvP, just "trying it out" in their greens and blues, essentially taking a break from the PvE game. It's no secret that PvE servers have more Alliance while PvP servers have more horde.
If nothing else I think it's safe to say PvPers tend to prefer Horde. And I think this explains a lot of the differences. There's a self-selection process where hardcore PvPers gravitate to Horde, and these players tend to be more "serious" about gaming in general. Thus you get more casual Alliance players, and more powergamers for the Horde.

I prefer Horde myself, to me the Horde races have better aesthetics. I don't like the way gnomes, night elves, and draenai (sp) look so it's best that I just seem them on the opposite end of a battleground.

I like the Horde in general, but whenever I play a Horde I always end up dropping it at lvl20+...whlile I can get Aliance to lvl70. Maybe cos my main is Ally and I'm just too used to Alliance atmosphere to go Horde.
I'm afraid I'm one of those who realy care about my character's appearance, and while Hordes look kickass, I find them pretty ugly and unappealing, cept for Blood Elves.
Ironic how while Blood Elves are probably the most 'insane' race, they bring a more 'human' and normal presence to the otherwise savage-looking Horde.
Draeneis did the opposite to the Alliance. Go away you fugly spacegoats + Tauren-wannabe-but-neverbe!!

I like the fact you can actually say 'For the Horde!' without cringing too much. Raiding IF as a barbaric pack everyone drops a For the Horde at one stage or another and it actually kind of sounds right. On the other hand, seriously, can you imagine /y For the Alliance!
Perhaps it's just my bias... :)
Thanks to the AV NPCs, it sounds nicer to say "For Khaaaz...Modan!!!" than "For the Alliance!!".

Both have their good and bad points...
According to my knowledge...
Alliance:
Humans-They were just minding their owns business when an army of murderous orcs invades their kingdom and burns it to the ground. Of course, there are some bad humans, (Grand Marshal Garithos, the one who sent the elves on the suicide mission out of racism, Aedelas Blackmoore, Thrall's master, he killed Tabetha Foxton, for example), but on the whole their just trying to protect what's theirs.
Dwarves- I'd say their biggest beef with the Horde is Alterac Valley, they were attacked for no reason upon entering, and are simply retaliating.
Gnomes- Nothing personal against the Horde, other than their loyalties to the Alliance.
Night Elves- Hate the Orcs (who are not only harvesting their homelands for lumber, but also killed Cenarius). No real loyalty to the Alliance that I can see.
Draenei- Like the Humans, they were attacked for no apparent reason by demon controlled Orcs.
Horde:
Orcs- Brought to Azeroth against their will after drinking the Blood of Mannaroth. All they know of the humans is cruelty and slavery, and they are simply battling for their right to live in this unforgiving new world. The Frostwolf orcs believed the Dwarves to be encroaching upon their ancestral land and are trying to drive them out. At the same time, the Warsong clan needs lumber for their settlements, and believe the Night Elves to be barbaric and selfish.
Trolls- After being saved from Murlocks by Thrall and his Orcs, they owe their loyalty to the Horde. In addition, many remember the old hatreds of Humans and Elves in addition to enemy Troll tribes.
Tauren- Bear no animosity to the Alliance, but are loyal to the Horde.
Undead- No real loyalty the the Horde, want to convert all life, but especially hate Humans (due in large part (in my opinion) to conversion to the idealogy of Sylvanas, who like many elves believe Humans to be largely responsible for the destruction of Quel'thalas).
Blood Elves- At first, no geniune loyalty, followed Kael'thas blind to the folly of their actions, nowadays, they have split into two factions, the followers of Kael'thas (eventually evolving into Felblood Elves, or Wretched), and the redeemed elves, who have decided to follow the Naaru (like the Scryers).
In the end, I wish we could just make peace and quit fighting...

Started as Alliance then I rolled horde cause my boyfriend at that time had a troll shaman. Since then I kinda got stuck with horde. Tried to play Alliance, but I always go back to my "roots".
(Ironic that I kept playing and he stopped at level 58 or so, 2 years ago and the reason for me to start was because I didn't get attention when he was playing the game hehe.)
For the horde! 8-).

How about the Night Elves and their Wisps destroying Archimonde (yes, the Humans and Orcs were there, but Malfurion blew the horn that summoned the wisps that destroyed him)? How about Khadgar and the rest closing the Dark Portal? And Sylvanas booting the Scourge? The Scourge is still there. And the only reason she had success with freeing herself and the rest of the Forsaken, was because Illidan (a Night Elf) was using the Eye of Sargeras to bomb Northrend. Don't discredit the Alliance.
And everyone saying the Alliance is evil, for the most part they're just trying to defend what's theirs, just like the Horde. Both should look past their petty differences and fight the real problems, the Scourge, the Silithid, and most importantly, the Burning Legion.
