While Kael was wrong for going against the orders of his commanding officer - in which respect Garithos was right - Kael was right for accepting the Naga's aid in order to save his people - in which respect Garithos was wrong.

Save his people at what cost?
Would you rather have a whole race of people die out just for the betterment of another?
If so, I think I know someone who would agree with you.

Save his people at what cost?
From being slaughtered by a superior force.
Look, what most forget about Kael in the madness that is "It was just a set back!" and the like, he cared deeply about his people. Even when he joined with Illidan it was to attempt to find a new life source to try to bring them out of their downward sprial from losing the Sunwell.
Yes he did evil things to do it, such as trying to absorb all the magic from Netherstorm then plane shift Tempest Keep over Silvermoon, with the resulting explosion wiping out the Outlands, Illidan, Vashj and Akama. Even when he fell to Kil'jaeden, he was still plotting a way to gain control and turn the entire Legion into a new battery source for the Sin'dori.
Garthios saw the Blood Elves the same way the American Civil War soldiers saw the African-American fighters, as cannon fodder to keep the true people, the Humans, alive. He didn't care that every mission he sent Kael out on was a death trap, as it would just give him more chances to kill the lesser-beings, and wipe them out.

Yes, I said myself, Garithos was more willing to risk blood elf lives than human ones, it wasn't his objective to kill them though. No? So using them against a vastly superior force, then being surprised when they showed up alive, and sending them right back out, no time for rest, wasn't trying to kill them off? (Note, that's the same thing they did with the African-american forces.)

What was Garithos suppose to do? Ask the undead politely to wait while Kael'thas and his men had some tea? He didn't even send them anywhere, they didn't have to move at all, he just told them to defend their postion and defeat the attacking force. How about not withdraw all support forces, actually give them a chance to fight? He set them up to die, that's even stated in the game itself.
