All i have to say is that STOP CALLING THE LICH KING ARTHAS PEOPLE. He is not arthas. Its like calling Illidan Gul'dan. Or calling the lich king Ner'zhul too! Arthas is gone. Theres a few fragmented memories from arthas within the Lich King. The general body - the magic/undead parts are Arthas'. But for god sake, Arthas is DEAD.
After the merger, the Lich King sat dormant for several years while his minions, through his will, reconstructed the destroyed Icecrown Citadel around the Frozen Throne. While he dreamed, Arthas consumed Ner'zhul and banished Matthias Lehner. After awaking, he removed his own heart, believing that anything that made him at all mortal made him weak, to become the new, single entity, Lich King.
Quoted from Wowwiki.
Yeah... no. It's Arthas.

Hard mode is hard but yes I would liek the lich king to be a very focusing fight. Not just you heal this guy. this guy holds aggro. you dps as much as you can and stay out of this. Give us a 20 min fight that requires every bit of concetration not to die a ever changing eviroment that makes 1 false step the end.

Are people still so absorbed in their rosy nostalgia glasses that they cannot clearly see that WOTLK brings many more, and better raid gameplay mechanics to the table than was even imagined in the other WoW iterations?
Do these people seriously need to have the idea elucidated for them differentiating hard by design and hard due to bad gameplay mechanics?
HEY GUYS, OUTDATED GAMEPLAY MECHANICS IN AN EVER EVOLVING AND PROGRESSIVE GAME WORLD ARE KEWEL+++
I am disgruntled. B|

So people wanting the main antagonist of an expansion and a character that's been around since warcraft 3 to not be a loot Pinata makes us have glasses of rosy nostalgia?
please explain? because I just don't want a person saying "freshly dinged 80 waiting to farm Icecrown raid normal mode" We're reaching the climax of the expansion and we want it to be hard even on normal mode
are we really asking for that much
?
Yeah, you are.
Like i said before, Normal Mode is for Casuals and Hard Mode is for Elitist/Hardcore.
Everyone from the guy who plays 15+ hours a day to the guy who plays a total of 5 hours a week should be able to experience end game content.
We all pay $15 bucks a month for the same game, get that through your head.

You can experience all of it except him for all I care you had time to get to 80
Blizzard is letting you go to T9 easily thats much much more than they did in BC and you still want more next thing we know
this'll actually happen
It's kind of like saying people who cant devote a bit more time shouldn't have an advantage. Raiding takes time and as I already said
The Lich King has been around since before WoW in warcraft 3 maybe his good 8 yearsish. He should not be a loot pintata. HE should atleast be as hard as yogg saron with 2-3 watchers in 10 man. on his normal mode. I'm not saying make him Algalon hard make him as hard as Arthas
deserves
to be.
It is the climax of this expansion I'm not asking for him to be original WoW hard that'd be ridiculous. I'm just asking for him to be hard enough so any random pug that takes 20 minutes to make can't kill him.
I just want him to be hard enough that it needs all pugs to be geared and know what their doing and not make it sometihng you can easily carry someone through the first month or so of him being out.
So you pay $15 so do I and so how that even relevant and how is me asking for him to be a tad harder a bad thing because you can't kill him? not EVERYONE is suppose to kill Arthas not everyone is suppose to kill Algalon or yogg. Thats okay thats how it's suppose to be
Yogg is pugable.
Algalon was never meant for the casual player.
I agree with you that The Lich King should be more difficult than Yoggy. I just dont want Blizz to make the same mistake that they made with Sunwell and Black Temple, where only 5-10% of the playerbase actually got to experience it.
Alot of people may not like it but i enjoy that my friends who are considered casuals can raid with me and not be left back because they cant put 5-8+ hours a day to grind heroics and raids.
I also agree with you that fresh 80's shouldnt be hitting up ICC, or Ulduar for that matter, but they also shouldnt be restricted from ever experiencing it in the future because some elites like the way their purples look and want super hard content.
So how about this.
Normal Mode Lich King - Difficult at first and takes time but pugable by casuals.
Hard Mode Lich King - Crazy difficult. Only the best of raid guilds will be able to take him down and drops better epics.
Sound good?
