That's it; they'll go the FFXI route, where the game remains open with charge but no new content coming out.
I don't have any interest in the rest of this expansion to be honest; I'll probably play when I'm burned out on XIV but I cannot wait for the next main story quests to come out for that. Newest Raid is the Omega Deltascape where we are actually fighting Exdeath...Yes, the Exdeath :D

lol dafuq. Hope we don't fight exvoid lord death gods.

The idea behind the 14 universe is that it's the center of the multi-verse for all Final Fantasy universes; we've seen Lightning and Snow, there's glamour armour that looks like Cloud, Firon, Warrior of Light and Cecil, characters from 11 have crossed over and we've had to help them; heck the finale of 11 had a cross over in Eorzea at that time.
A lot of the bosses in the Omega Deltascape are from 5, the Crystal Tower raids had bosses from 3 including the Cloud of Darkness and in Heavensward, there were three trials based on the Three Goddess/Gods from 6. For Stormblood, there is a dungeon where the three bosses are things from the Magitech Factory from 6; not as crossovers but obviously based on them.

So. old FF bosses? sounds like something wow did in tbc with illidan and kael.

Some what; they aren't directly referenced to the previous games like how Illy and Kael were, and most of them are throwbacks for fans, but it's still awesome to fight things like the Magna Roader, Number 24 and Number 128 in Castrum Abania. Also, while Omega is the 8 man raid, the 24 man raid is going to be called 'Return to Ivalice' which will be fun seeing Ivalice things in 14.

I see. Hopefully it's not the way of warlords of dreanor for milking nostalgia.

Probably not...it's kinda of interesting though that the shadowy evil figures the Ascians, who have been behind a lot of the major issues, all wear masks with symbols on their face....and said symbols match the Lucavi from Tactics/12; plus the god of darkness that they worship is Zodiark, who had
this in 12
, implied to be capable of eradicating all life on the planet.
Also in the Void Ark raid, the players went up again Cuchulainn who is more or less
Cúchulainn the Impure
just more squiddy in 14. Though the Void Ark, as per the name, was the prison air ship where incredibly high ranking Void(Demon) creatures were sealed away following a war so who knows how that is going to play out since by the end of Heavensward we kill the Void Queen and Diabolos the usurper. We beat the Queen and Diabolos absorbs her to become Diabolos Hollow.
So I'm hoping we'll see more of the Lucavi in the Raid, or even go up against alt versions of them from the original Tactics game, because those are still some of the coolest looking sprites out there.

So Blizzard has finally given us PROOF that Jaina is a Dreadlord.

Sadly no; since that's the Nexus which is the alt versions of them all :P

So Blizzard has finally given us PROOF that Jaina is a Dreadlord.
/s
This, coupled with the new Hearthstone trailer, make me hope for foreshadowing that she's gonna become a villain. That being said, I reiterate my line that I also hope she is NOT a dreadlord, nor possessed by a dreadlord, replaced by a dreadlord, or mind-controlled by someone else. Way too many horde leaders are portrayed as jerks without outside interference (Garrosh, Sylvanas, Gallywix), the same treatment needs to be done to the alliance. Greymane is a good start, but he's nowhere near the only one.

I like Greymane's because his hatred is actually logical and comes from a clear direction. Like how Varian's hated of orcs came from one killing his dad in front of him and literally burning his home to the ground, before character development kicked in (possibly the only good case of it in WoW history). Jaina's still feels too painfully forced and sharply turned for me to take it seriously. She literally went from the voice of reason to a frothing mad woman in the space of a single cinematic.

Isn't it obvious this is when the dreadlord took over?

Blame Tides of War and War Crimes where she ping ponged all over the place due to phoned in writing.

So, try as I might, I've yet to see Illidan turning into "the golden boi of light" (Misspelling intentional) that he saw in his vision on the Illidan novel.
So..........was all of that just a bunch of hot air by Xe'ra? or he only turns into that in a yet unseen cinematic? time will tell.

He probably gets the last stab at Sargeras and channels the Light or some bull to do it. WoW characters. Kill stealing since Cata.

I might be giving Blizzard too much credit, but it really feels like Xe'ra, as a character, exists to take the piss out of hardcore Illidan fans. The way she bends the truth, and sees the events of his past through some weird twisted lens. It all feels like she's a bit of a joke.

Probably just yet another useless plot point that goes nowhere.

Honestly, I don't know why I'm supposed to care about the invasion of Argus. I was really looking forward to Velen returning to face his own decisions, plus the brothers he left behind. But it seems that all the enemies we cared about are already dead. I don't feel any tension or excitement, only disappointment and underwhelmed.
I mean, sure, there's Sargeras, but...
...we don't kill him. We don't even fight him, technically, since we fight Argus. The Dark Titan deserves better.
I feel like the Legion has already lost the war, and we're just putting in the finishing blow. I hate when stories do that. I want to feel hopeless, like we're losing, like the Legion is all-powerful and unstoppable. I want to fight bitterly for each footstep on Argus, and really feel the power of Sargeras and his immortal Legion.
Instead, we're going to push them over no problem.

And I want more Sylvanas :(
Though the new cinematic makes me like Illidan for just that moment, for a long long time, a tiny bit of love.

Yeah I seriously don't care about Legion any longer; until I get FFXIV burn out, I'll be there most of the time.
