Yeah that would be a good comparison. But I was thinking that the Humans would be more akin to the Draenei, at least in Doomhammer's mind.
You know, we can only go so far with this... there aren't that many native races on Draenor.

Orcs, Ogres, Gronn and the Arrakkoa, with the Draenei showing up later.
As for the human factor... I gotta say their the orcs really. Even have the mirrors of each other after all; Dark Horde vs Stormwind, then Daelin against Origimmar.

Well yeah, I agree. But it was Doomhammer that was making the comparisons... and I don't think he would think fondly enough of the humans to say they are anything like the Orcs.

I agree that he wouldn't have liked the idea, but I think it's likely that Thrall could have talked him into it. He would have been proud to see the Trolls and the Tauren join, though. He and Cairne would have been really good friends, I think.

Makes me wonder if Doomhammer had survived to fight at Hyjal... if the War might have gone differently there, would Cenarius still be alive? You know Doomhammer would have pounded Grom into the ground like a tent pole for even thinking of doing what he actually did.

I don't think Cenarius would still be alive. After all, that was all Warsong clan that Grom was leading. It would have taken a complete change in Grom to change the outcome of that situation.
Had Doomhammer been at Hyjal though... Archimonde probably would have peed himself while crying in a fetal position. :D
I wonder more about what would have happened if Doomhammer had been alive during the Founding of Durotar. I honestly don't think that Theramoore would still exist if he had been.

Had he been there to tell the Warsong to stop... they probably would have, and Thrall would have been able to arrive in time to keep everything from going up crap-creek without the paddle.

You're probably right on that. But I was in the line of thinking that Doomhammer would have been with the main army (with Thrall). Had he been with the Warsongs though, he would have stopped Grom. Then had Thrall arrived in time, Cenarius might have lived... but I think it would have been Cenarius to take on Mannoroth rather than Grom in that instance... and we can't be sure if he would still be alive after that.
The Night Elves and the Orcs might also be on more friendly terms if that was the case.

As for Cenarius vs Mannoroth... that's too close to call; Cenarius is the strongest of the demi-gods still alive after all, and while Mannoroth was the Lord of the Annihilan, we know that the God of Nature was powerful, even if he couldn't save his father during the War of the Ancients, I think getting another chance at the Legion would have been a powerful incentive to win out. Not saying he wouldn't have been injured... possibly badly, but I'd give it to Cenarius, especially if he magicked up one his axes heh.
And yeah, the Orcs and Night Elves would be better allies then they are now lol.

I thought he was a better fighter than Kil'jaeden, hence why he led the Burning Legion's armies.

I think he meant power-wise. He may have been a better fighter, but the magical abilities of the other two would have made them more powerful.

Aye, Kil'jaeden is the leader of the Eredars and the Dreadlords, those tasked for the more intelligence based things; Archimonde was the leader of the Pitlords, Wrathguards and similar military forces. More then likely Kil'jaeden was more powerful then good ole Archi, which is why he was never sent into life threatening positions... till he attempted to make his own foray into Azeroth.

Just a quick and small question, but how did Maraad save Garona?
Did he show up and start killing guards, or sneak in from behind, or something else?
He snuck in and freed her, I know he didn't kill anyone, might have knocked some people out... but I don't think he did, as that would go against what he was trying to do lol; free his niece and get out of there.

Okay, so, going back to the roles that the races will play in Cataclysm...
You've read how I think the Trolls will be, but what about the Tauren? Anybody have any ideas on how they will change or if they will change?
Post by
Adamsm
I'm seeing a three way split:
1st: A large number of Tauren will be following Cairne, where he heads off to; those being the more peace minded and the like.
2nd: A large group joining up with the Warsong and Garrosh; those who think he is right about Might = Ruling (they are out there after all).
3rd: A sudden increase of the Grimtotems among the normal Horde races, with a tighter connection between Magtha and the Forsaken.
(going to eat heh, will be back to post after food is finished)

Yeah, I was thinking more or less along the same lines. But, it could be vastly different if Cairne is killed by Garrosh.

I don't know, I could see maybe it going down to two options then: Those who were Cairne's supporters and allies following Thrall when he returns from the goblin situation, and going off with the true Warchief on whatever thing he's up to, while the rest, those same militant types I was talking about before, join up with Magtha, the Grimtotems and Garrosh's horde.

You know, this has me thinking... we're not all that sure that it will be Grimtotems with Garrosh... That sort of makes me wonder what type of leader Baine will be.
