Really?
Even though the Warcraft Encyclopedia
states
that the Elvish races can live for several thousand years? And we know that magic can be used for to extend lives in the Warcraft universe. So we don't know exactly when she rose up but it will be told in the Chronicle. And it's not that hard to believe that not everyone was a devout follower of Elune; after all Jarod Shadowsong wasn't even with his sister Maiev being a member of the Priestesses of the Moon.

Couldn't Elune have been an original source of power for them - even before they evolved into night elves - but as the Highborne learned to control the powers of the Well they were able to circumvent the Elune worship for the power and just tap into it naturally?

That's if Elune actually has anything to do with arcane magic...and so far, there isn't any evidence that She does, other then the fact that in game Moonfire falls under arcane but it's never touched on anywhere what the source of the power of is for that.

Didn't they write that balance druids use arcane in that new class fantasy thing?
Yes. Malfurion is also a hypocrite.

Ho-ly #$%&
Nazgrim is coming back as a Death Knight.
Now, THIS is one "bring dead guy back" moment I wholeheartedly approve of. But that's not all, Apparently, the Knights of the Ebon Blade are reforming the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Nazgrim will be the first, but who could possibly fill the shoes of the other 3? Ohh boy, I'm getting giddy with anticipation
In the meantime, here's my preemptive speculation list of the full roster:
2 horde, 2 alliance. Horde horsemen: Nazgrim and Saurfang Jr. Alliance Horsemen: Tirion, and Liam.
Nazgrim would be the replacement of Mograine/Rivendare
Saurfang Jr would be the replacement of Korth'ass
Tirion would be the replacement of Sir Zeliek
And Liam Greymane would be the replacement of Lady Blaumeux. I would have chosen a female character, but alas, there are none in the alliance that I can think of.
First plot-related snippet of legion I'm actually happy about. Which is kinda ironic given my reaction to that
other
character being brought back.(##RESPBREAK##)520##DELIM##Rankkor##DELIM##

I know!!!!!!!
I mean, if you totally have to bring someone back? THIS is how you do it. With an actual purpose for it, with some consequences, not with a reset-button that makes it so that the first death never even happened in the first place, like with Muradin, or Mal'ganis, or Jaina (She dies in War Crimes, and stays dead for like 5 minutes) or so many countless examples.
Here, Nazgrim is dead, and his death has consequences, its possible he wont be the same man in undeath as he was in life, or maybe he will. We'll find out how this experience changes him, and if his duty to the horde will extend in death as it did in life. Plus they bring him back in a way that moves the plot forward, with the Knights of the Ebon Blade, FINALLY doing something, I mean, they've been languishing in inactivity since 2010 U_U they did nothing in cata, nothing in MoP ,and nothing in WoD. About time they put them to use again

My ONE complaint is... well, it's resurrecting these people into undeath. Whether it's from the New Scourge or the Ebon Blade, is everyone suddenly okay with this? Weren't there MULTIPLE fusses about doing things like this in the past?
HOPEFULLY they'll touch on this and it'll have some ramifications, but I can see it just getting swept under the rug because "Legion's back, we need help".

Yeah, I mentioned that in my commentary regarding Alonsus Faol.
Considering all the crap
everyone
gives to Sylvanas over her usage of valks to ress people (in-universe and IRL), if no reaction at all is given to the knights of the ebon blade/scourge 2.0 doing the same, that'll be my cue to know that this game's lore is more or less effed up.
I better see some reactions. Both within, and without, the setting.

I wonder if they're trying to handwave it away with something like 'no one but the DK's and some leaders know Bolvar is the Lich King'. Wouldn't surprise me. Though, ironically, if he does become the enemy down the line, we'll be killing Nazgrim twice.

Well, can't be the Scourge 2.0 without the Four Horsemen....just wait, there's going to be a new lich, and Blood Queen and a return of Anub'ark cause you know, it was all a set back.

If there is a Scourge 2.0, I hope the nerubians are a faction we can ally with. I loved those spider monsters and their weird underground empires.

IF they make me kill Nazgrim again......... That's it. I'm done.
I'm just.......... done.

I'm not too thrilled about it... Let the man rest in peace. He had a death with all the "may he rest in honor" thing.
Also there is going to be some whining from the alliance side becouse taylor is still dead. They didn't like it when he died in WoD.
Hm, maybe one of the barovs is going to be a rider?
Maybe a first generation death knight?
Maybe Dar'khan?
Perhaps someone that had next to no lore before but we learn on the road like with some of the artifacts?

Indeed there should be. And it's worse with the necromancy the scourge/ebon use. That army of the dead CD. All those guys are aware of whats going on, but they are powerless to do anything about it. Same with the ghouls you raise from the scarlets in a daily quest.
But logic and reason is twisted in real life to turn Sylvanas the darker because she is horde/girl/elf/*shrug*.

Hey Adamsm, I need you to confirm (or deny) something for me bro'.
you got the Chronicles Volume 1 yet? I've heard some very concerning rumors on the 'net about it.
Namely..... (Warning: HEAVY HEAVY SPOILERS INSIDE, anyone planning on getting the Chronicles books, don't read this until you've finished them. I only read them because I can't actually get the books where I live U_U)
THE PANTHEON IS DEAD!!!!!!! O_O all of them killed by Sargeras, every world in the universe has their own version of the Old Gods (So much for them being just 5), it was the Void Lords who corrupted Sargeras, every world apparently has a "world soul" inside of it, and through it, titans are made, which is the REAL reason the Titans travel from world to world to instill order, they do this so they can create newer titans with the World Soul of each planet.
This applies to Azeroth too, including why the Well of Eternity is so coveted by everyone. The magic waters there are literally the blood of the titan soul inside Azeroth, bleeding out from the wound left by killing Y'Shaarj. This titan was foreseen by Aman'thul to be powerful enough to even surpass Sargeras himself, and if awakened, could herald the end of the Void Lords across the universe. This is why Sargeras is so obsessed with possessing the power of the well, and why every other demon is too. We're talking about the literal blood of a titan who can make Sargeras, the dude who just soloed the entire frigging PANTHEON, look like an ant by comparison.
Well........
that more or less says my opinion on those developments.
And that's just for chapter 1. O_O there's still 3 more chapters, and 2 more volumes to come.

That's...Kind of interesting, I will admit. But also, a little lame. It makes the universe feel...really small, actually. I get why they did it, but the idea that
Sargeras could kill the entire pantheon by himself? Including his successor? I mean, yeah. Legions of demons, but we've seen that demons are like pests to a titan, let alone all of them. It seems like one of those things that makes it actually less interesting to me. Now don't get me wrong, I really like the idea of planets having a kind of soul, and that is how new titans are made. But makes me wonder why there aren't more titans in the pantheon. And concerned with Blizzrd's blood fixation.
Still adopting a wait and see policy for these books, and some elements seem very good. But in my experience, creating such a hard backstory may be detrimental to a continuing franchise. Leaves less wiggle room for new elements.
