BTW Adamsm, I got some good news for ya (probably)
It just occured to me: The next warcraft book is very unlikely to be written by Christie Golden o_O
According to her Tweeter, she's working on a book right now that will act as a sequel to the upcoming Warcraft Movie set to be released on June next year. Apparently, they're retconning the living crap out of a lot of stuff in the first war, and this book will cover some of those changes.
IF she's working on a prequel novelization of the next movie, that means whoever they choose to write the book to bridge us into Legion will be someone else. I highly doubt anyone can just work on mulitple books at the same time. Can they?
Though that COULD mean we get knaak.
Thinking about legion and knaak. Have blizzard ever commented that WoA trilogy happened in a different timeline? It is more logical for me that it is and I think knaak tried to hint it with hakkars death.
Also, do you think Gul'dan has the shard of time?
Even the Lord of the Rings movies had to make a few changes (Sadly Tom Bombadil and Glorfindel were among them U_U)
Mostly to fit with everything and have longer fights. Most of the first book was from shire to rivendale, most of that, was cut out.

God I hope not. If I see Knaak "Rhonifying" another character I'm gonna blow a #$%&ing gasket. They already removed his two incredibly horrible characters (Krasus and Rhonin) so if he's the one writing it, then he's just gonna choose someone else to project over. Probably Varian, he kinda gushed into him a little
too
creepily for me in Wolfheart and Stormrage.
Plus his narrative style with the excessive floral prose (they're called EYES, not "alluring orbs") really pisses me off.

I'll take Knaak over the recent Golden work....Dawn of the Aspects is very well written and far more enjoyable then War Crimes was. I'd prefer another Stackpole book as Shadows of the Horde was incredibly well written. If she ends up doing the novelization of the Warcraft movie well...yeah; say hello to more of the burnt out writing she's been doing lately. I hope Legion finally kills that stupid romance between Jaina and Kalec and then Kalec can go back to being the character he was before Tides of War....actually useful and not existing to be Jaina's whatever the hell that was.

See? Jaina getting iced (te-he-he) would fix SO many problems =D

She can live....I just want Kalec to go back to being an actual character and not just the guy who stands around and does nothing.
*God damn Tides of War where he was too thick to figure out that the Eye was on a blimp......then that god awful scene in War Crimes with the Alternate Kalec.....*

As a Rhonin and Krasus fan, that stings, Rankk.
In Mythic Hellfire Citadel, Archimonde is technically killed in the Nether, so is he permanently dead? Or does the cinematic retcon that? (I also want to hang onto the theory that Archie's soul hitched a ride with/in Gul'dan.)
I would also like to point out that Maiev was incredibly stupid to chain Illidan's body up in some vain hope that his soul would suffer. She should have just buried him or burned him. I mean, it would be like Tirion stringing up Arthas' corpse in Light's Hope Chapel for all the world to see. In a world where resurrections are, if not common place than at least possible, one should be more careful with the bodies of their enemies.
(And is anyone else disappointed by Frostmourne's ultimate fate?)

It just doesn't seem reasonable to simply hand off Frostmourne to the hero, it's literally part of the Lich King. Still, I'm pissed that Blizz is literally forcing DW frost down our throats. I've always hated that build, and now if I'm going to play frost it's outright mandatory.
Main reason we can't just use the vanilla Frostmourne is probably because its an Artifact of Doom and as much a part of the lich king as the Helm of Damnation for example. In order to wield it, we had to modify it, make it "ours" instead of "his" so that the weapon is more a part of ourselves. If that made any sense.
Even when we got Arthas' Warhammer, we still had to modify it in some way to make it "ours" and that's how Shadowmourne was born.
Regarding dualwield, I will say that I don't mind it much. Blood and Unholy are already 2hander specs, Frost needs a special flavor to set itself apart from the other two. Dualwielding seems like a no-brainer.
This is the same reason why I'm hoping the weapons for Fury Warriors are 2handers, as dualwielding 2handed weapons is one of the more unique traits of warriors in general.
Offtopic: I'm
really
tired of the expression "shoved down our throats" >_> its SO overused.......

Just like having rogues pick up all their knives after using Fan of Knives. But as a certain viral internet song says "Aint nobody got time for that"(##RESPBREAK##)520##DELIM##Rankkor##DELIM##

BTW, regarding what I said earlier about the Ashbringer's HORRIBLE name in spanish (Crematoria, seriously, WTF?) out of curiosity I decided to check its name in all the other languages that wow has been officially translated. And the results were interesting.
English Version:
Ashbringer
German Version:
Ashbringer
And this literally means Ashbringer in german. But then again, german and english are closely related and bear several similarities. What about languages that are more different from each other?
French Version:
Ashbringer
Translation in english: Also literally "ashbringer" in french, they preserved the original name.
Italian Version: Brandicenere (Sorry, for some reason I can't link the italian version) Translation in english? Close enough, it means Ash Wielder, or Ashen Sword depending on context.
Russian Version:
Ashbringer
Translation in English? this one did a great job at adapting it, as its name means "Incinerator" which is pretty fitting with the theme of the sword.
Sadly, both the spanish and portuguese versions went with the ridiculous name of Crematoria which just means crematorium, but due to cultural context, comes across more as "The Cream Bringer".(##RESPBREAK##)520##DELIM##Rankkor##DELIM##

I would totally roll a paladin if they got a weapon called "Creambringer"...

It certainly would bring a special flavor in moonguard's Goldshire Inn.
BTW, out of fun I took the "
Mary Sue Universal Litmus Test
" on my DK, and I'm pleasantly surprised that she scored a 20, meaning she's not a Mary Sue.
HOORAAAY!!!!!!!!!! =D
(Frankly, a lot of those points came because of the pandaria storyline, which lets admit it, its clishe-filled to the brim. Filtering those out, the score is 14)(##RESPBREAK##)520##DELIM##Rankkor##DELIM##

Probably because of all the languages she knows. I'm honestly not sure if that's a particularly fair segment of the test. Some people just know how to speak y'know?
I know right? My DK speaks Thalassian, common and orcish, but that's pretty common amongst all members of the horde. So its not like she's a special snowflake or anything.
I'm fluent in two languages and semi-fluent on a third IRL, and I'm not a sue ;P

Well, they do have a well worded disclaimer recognizing this, its right at the top:
Please, please, please remember that just because something is on the test does not mean that it's supposed to be inherently bad and avoided at all costs.
Think of them as being like salt or spices - they serve to enhance the dish when used in the right amounts, but when used too liberally, the result tends to be quite unappetizing. Again,
INDIVIDUAL ITEMS DO NOT MAKE THE MARY SUE. THE INDIVIDUAL ITEMS ARE NOT BAD. MOST GOOD CHARACTERS HAVE AND SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST SOME OF THEM.
Furthermore, this test has never been nor probably will be perfect. At best, I can only offer it as a guide, not an instruction manual. The test should not be taken as the absolute final word on the quality of a character, but rather as a way to gauge whether or not a character might need some adjustment.
So speaking multiple languages isn't by itself a bad thing, nor being proficient in the use of several weapons or magic schools, or being a hybrid race.
But being a multilanguage tri-race weaponmaster/magicmaster probably is. (coughmedancough)(##RESPBREAK##)520##DELIM##Rankkor##DELIM##

Ithalwen got 15, thats rather healty, though I do belive this one is not 100% adapted to warcraft univerce. Just being a elf is a few points (90% killed, long lived, sexy, glowy eyes...)

In my head-canon the horde races speak common, the whole horde speak orc is mere game mechanic for cross faction communication (this also include that forsaken have no tongue, just like humans, they only speak common the common tongue).
Though with a lil' enchanting one can speak/understand all languages.

I have not been in moonguard, buuuut argent dawn EU is rather vile.

Thankfully Blizzard seem to have locked him in the Retconian.

Think metzen even confirmed medan as a "cool idea at the time" but horrible in hindsight. Think they might have silently retconed him away.
Though I am still in the opinion of Lillian Voss being a similar kind of sue, just not a half breed, but a teen/zombie/ninja/warlock with a
inconsistent
background.
#88 if your character lost xir virginity unwillingly, does xe find a way to restore it?
This happens?
