No mention of Khadgar itself being our legendary follower?
I mean, he's the one that's leading the legendary questline, and being our follower won't diminish his role in any way.
I'd rather not have anymore god damn pink skined weak humans in my (horde) garrison. I've got Leeroy, Conan and Image o' Archmage Vargo.

Yes it will. Right now, he's the leader of the draenor expedition (Much like how he led it during the second war) and is in charge of coordinating the horde and the alliance and make sure they don't go at each other's throats (Ashran doesn't count as canon).
If he's following us, that'd mean he's not leading anything at all, we are. And while I have no problem with that, it would mean a lot of problems from a narrative perspective. Its the same reason why I doubt Yrel and Durotan will ever become followers.
When it comes to the leadership of the anti Iron Horde coalition, Khadgar, Yrel, Durotan, and the player are all on the same level and same rank.

Don't forget Liadrin and Maladaar, thogh they like Khadgar is more Anti-Legion.

They are secondary leaders and supportive staff. The "real" leaders are just the players, who are leading All of the Azerothian Horde and Alliance forces, Yrel who is leading the AU!Draenei forces, Durotan who is the defacto leader of all the AU!Orcs who oppose the Iron Horde, and Khadgar who is sort of the liaison between all 4 of these factions banded together.
Within the horde there are several subleaders (Like Liandrin, or Thrall) just like it is within the alliance (Maraad and Cordana) the AU!Orcs (Draka and Kaz) or the AU!Draenei (Maladar, Akama, etc)
But the big honchos are (IMO) the horde player, the alliance player, Yrel, Durotan, and Khadgar.

And what's the problem with ol'Khad just recognizing we're beasts and understanding that if he's following us he'll be better? Maybe Gul'dan gets a good win over him mid xpack and he decides to lay low behind the frontlines for a while? He'll still be giving quests and pointing where to go for the legendary stuff, but if Gul'dan is out there to get him (and much more powerful), he may be better below our wings.
Of course that'll mean that he'd be taken as follower in both different garrisons, but we already have many NPCs that are the same in both. So I see no problem with that (gameplay > lore).

The main problem with that, is that the alliance and horde are a pack of toddlers that need a nanny to keep them in check, or else they'll be squabbling over every single minor stupid littlest thing.
Khadgar is that nanny. Thus he can't step down from top honcho position.
I can just picture it:
Alliance troop: Daaaaaaaaaaaaaad the mean hordie just pulled at my hair.
Horde Troop: did not!!! and you made fun of my tusks first!!!
Khadgar: So help me, if you don't stop that, I'm gonna turn the portal around right back to azeroth.(##RESPBREAK##)520##DELIM##Rankkor##DELIM##

I rather like Khadgar in his current position, as it puts the Kirin Tor back where it's supposed to be in WoW. Largely Alliance inclined, but still acting as a more neutral force much like the Argents, but with more firepower at their disposal.
What I meant was I hope whoever we get as the legendary follower is someone who will be faction specific, and can also act in a role where they parallel us through future expansions like Taylor and Nazgrim had. That way we don't abandon our garrisons entirely at the end of Warlords like we did the farm at the end of Mists.

What if the legendary follower was... a clone of ourselves? :O

Well, we ARE dealing with a lot of timey-whimey stuff, and the legendary quest
does
takes place in a location where several timelines are coalescing into each other, to the point where there's a time-lost proto drake corpse there for good measure. It would be an unexpected twist that the legendary companion was in fact a version of ourselves from a different timeline.

An "unexpected twist" is good, right?

I would, personnally, like to get some sort of choice. That way we can get at least one that we'll like more than the others.

I wouldn't do that if I was you. Poop is so afraid of saurfang, that when it sees him coming, it'll crawl back inside
you
.
And it'll be very uncomfortable for everyone involved.

Alright, I like this campaign.

I'm still kinda sad that out of the whole garrison campaign thingie, only 2 campaigns are faction-exclusives, while the rest are basically the same for both sides with extremely minor differences (in some of them, like the bit with Rexxar on Darktide Roost, no difference at all)
I know they were trying to evoke the large sweeping and spectacular quest-chain of 5.1 which had a staggered release as we got the reputation done bit by bit, but this wasn't as cool because A: all of the 5.1 quest was amazing, whereas on this, some are average, some are boring, and some are great, and B: all of the 5.1 quests were unique for each side, whereas here, horde gets 2 unique quest-chains (Involving Drek'thar and the Primal Furies) and the alliance gets only 2 unique quest-chains (involving Yrel and the Exarchs). The rest is pretty generic.

Honestly, the alliance campaign is so cringeworthy to me that I can't get my alliance character past level 92 (I'm ashamed I have one in the first place but my guild there is just really good). I think the biggest blow was that Rulkan not only left her husband because "he sucks so much," not only came crawling to the alliance, but came crawling to the alliance as a freaking follower of you, some alliance dork in your enchanted forest inn. Where is your orc pride, Rulkan, at least join an orc garrison... seriously... Now, I know some people here might try to explain how supposedly in some way this is legitimate and makes sense, but those people are wrong, because it doesn't, and it's humiliating to me as an orc fan. Also I keep waiting for yrel to go away, but she's all up in your grill all the time and it's like being constantly forced to stare at some attention-seeking teenage girl's social media page and having to endure her status updates.

Nah, poop is poop and once it's gone, there's no comming back. And for Mr. Fang, task given is task completed. He'll do his job just fine.
