That's why Orcs are my favorite race... :3
Spoilers be damned, you need to tell me everything there is to know about Kilrogg and the Bleeding Hollows if it comes up in the Beta, and if ANYTHING happens with Saurfang I must be the first to know, you got that?
heh, you got a deal. Though its possible nothing will come up with that clan.
Yet
.
Their homeland is the Tanaan Jungle, and that's being pushed for a later patch U_U which completely sucks, because all the other post-expansion zones they've added have never been anywhere near as good as the default zones (Quel'danas in TBC, Hrothgar's Landing in WOTLK, Molten Front in cataclysm, Isle of Thunder, Isle of Giants, and Timeless Isle in MoP).
But lets keep our fingers crossed that Tanaan is not as lackluster as those.
From what I can gather, Frostfire Ridge is all about Frostwolves, and Thunderlords, Gorgorond is mostly about the Blackrocks, Spires of Arrak is about the Shattered Hand, Nagrand is about the Warsong and Burning Blade.
I'm sure I'm missing several more though.
I'll keep my eyes peeled about Saurfang though. Since the next zone is all about the blackrocks, maybe he'll be there?
I'm sad about one thing though, OUR saurfang is no longer at the garrison.
Originally, he was the officer in charge of handling out missions to our followers. Sorta like our second in command, lending us his experience, in the same way he did the same thing for Garrosh in borean tundra. But now he has been replaced by
General Zog
(Now promoted to Warmaster).

Yeah. As someone who does a Google search for "Saurfang Warlords of Draenor" every single day that I have internet access, I heard that he's not in the Garrison anymore. I choose to take that as a good sign, though, that Blizzard has decided they have something more important for him to do, rather than that's they're taking him out altogether.
I'm
really
curious if we'll see Alternate Saurfang. Remember, without three wars worth of experience and regret, he'd just be a feisty little badass right now. Think about how terrifying he'd be as a raid boss or adventurer-beater under Blackhand.

One can only hope. He was an absolute BADASS in SoO, albeit offscreen, we only see the outcome of his rampage. I'm hoping he plays a larger role later on.

Me too, and I'm hoping he ends up joining us.
Its not impossible. Already in Frostfire Ridge, a disgruntled Thunderlord Beastmaster grows disillusioned with his clan abandoning their traditional ways, to embrace the technocracy of the Iron Horde. Replacing spears with cannons, replacing bows with gunpowder and grenades. He feels they've become weak and dishonorable, and pledges his services to us, after we prove our strength to him by slaying one of the top shaman of the Thunderlord.
Also, Doomhammer refuses to follow blackhand on this timeline, and tries to stop him in Talador, only for Blackhand to kill him U_U
While that's sad, it means there's hope that Saurfang, if he shows up, CAN do a Heel-Face turn too and maybe become an epic follower of some sort.
A man can dream.

Okay. This is straight up fanboying, but hear me out...
So we know that Doomhammer dies
So, what if, rather than Doomhammer turning on Backhand, as in our timeline, we instead have Saurfang turn on Blackhand, defeat him, and take leadership of the Blackrocks?
I mean, Doomhammer's dead in our timeline. Most players, who aren't really into the lore, don't know how much of a badass he was. But EVERYONE knows Saurfang, even the Alliance. What a fantastic way to A. Get a younger Saurfang as a leader (because Saurfang's biggest problem is that his heir is dead and he's as old as Drek'thar) and B. Redeem the Blackrocks and give them a Chieftain in the New Horde?
I mean, it has problems. We don't even know if there is going to be an AU Saurfang, and we don't know if anyone from AU Draenor is coming back with us. But still, Saurfang is my Favorite character of all time (OF ALL TIME), and he's getting to be too old to keep going to war and fighting for the Horde. We lost the opportunity to have Dranosh as Warchief and Heir to Saurfang, but this would be the perfect opportunity to solidify Saurfang's place in WoW's future.

That'd be so
awesome
.
Particularly because there's been rumors of part of the orcs on draenor coming back to azeroth to reinforce the horde, and balance their power now that they were left weakened by the alliance.
Granted, that's nothing more than a rumor, no more valid than any other crazy rumor (Like Stormwind being the final raid in WoD), but like I said before, a man can dream.
Having a younger Saurfang on an active role as a major horde lore figure (maybe even replacing thrall?) would be so awesome the game could actually explode if they did that.(##RESPBREAK##)520##DELIM##Rankkor##DELIM##

Look, what I'm about to say is gonna be sacrilege to some of you guys, but I think it's a viable idea. But I'd like this expac to be the one were Saurfang "leaves us."
Please hear me out before the axes come out.
Saurfang is old, as old as Drek'thar, as stated above. I would love for us to have a series of quests alongside him in Draenor where, in a moment of private honesty, he admits to us that it's getting harder and harder for him to bring out his old strength, and that, in a way, he's viewing his work in Draenor as his swan song, in a way. Let it all culminate in an epic battle against the Iron Horder where he slays hundreds of warriors, but, in the end, falls. Finally we see a vision of the spirit word, where we see him be greeted by the spirit of his son and ancestors who greet him with honor and he is lauded for a life lived as a true Orc.
With this, Saurfang passes on in peace, being remembered as a hero and exemplar of the Orcs. From a pure storyline perspective, it allows him to be remembered as a hero, while as the same time, making room in the Horde for newer, future heroes. It allows him to come full circe, finally returning to Draenor to save it, as he couldn't do for his own Draenor so long ago.

That actually would work well with my idea.
Blizzard doesn't intend to have two version of the same character alive on the same world in this Xpac. So for young Saurfang to come back and have a second chance to have an heir and continue his line and all that (in addition to giving all the leftover Blackrocks a chieftain), old Saurfang would have to die. And as much as that'd suck, it'd probably be for the better.
I just don't want the poor guy to die without leaving behind anyone else to carry on his legacy. His mate's dead, his brother's dead, his son's dead... The only one left who even shares his blood is Thura, who god knows is never going to be in the game. I just don't think it's fair for a badass of his caliber to die without leaving some kind of heir to his legacy. Even Orgrim, who had no children, left Thrall his armor and family weapon.

I'm putting this on a spoiler block, but its only really a spoiler for anyone who plays horde, as the alliance wont interact with this group.
But, ever had a zone make an impression on you within the first ten seconds, of entering? That's Gorgorond for me.
I go in there to meet durotan to continue the fight against the iron horde, and what do I find? Durotan and Draka staring at two Iron Horde corpses, pinned to a wall by giant axes, their faces twisted into hideously creepy wide smiles. Below them, a warning sign that read: "
We got them to laugh.........eventually
". Draka quietly comments "Laughing skull....... we need to keep moving"
Just by watching that short scene, I immediately got in my mind the picture of the Laughing Skull clan being essentially what Joker would had been if he was an orc, but applied to an entire clan. I was not disappointed when I actually met them :)
While other clans sport tribal tattoos on their bodies, the Laughing Skull wears patterned scars. They use giant skulls for masks, skulls that mind you, are twisted to show a big wide grin. Their elder shaman states that these skulls are very important for their culture, because with one of these masks, and some.........persuasion,
ANYONE
can become a laughing skull. When their members die, they behead the corpses, and take their skulls, fashioning them and shaping them with magic and chemicals into the flexible masks used by other members of the tribe.
They're certifiably insane, using names like "Limbflayer" or "Grinreaper", and get this, the new blizzard mount on the store, the grinning ravager? its theirs. That's their chosen companion, they not only domesticated ravagers to use as pets and mounts,
they taught them to laugh too
. And got them to wear the same ceremonial masks as well.
As a rule of thumb, the Laughing Skull clan takes the tropes of
Crazy Awesome
and specially
Creepy Awesome
up to eleven, and then some more.

hey buddy just because you don't like orcs, or don't find them interesting, doesn't mean everyone else does. For some people, the race is actually interesting. >_>
On other news, new build today, hopefully it includes the music. So far all the zones are completely silent without their music, with the exception of MSV and FFR, but even then, in both of those, there's just one track that goes on a loop.(##RESPBREAK##)520##DELIM##Rankkor##DELIM##

Btw rankkor, anything to be said about night/blood elves or gnomes in the beta?
Also I heard that for the mage tower in the garrison horde for some reason doesn't know arcane and ask Khadgar and get a high elf to build it. Sounds derp considering blood elves are horde and has mastery of arcane. Is this true?

Nothing yet. I'm (obviously) doing the horde part first, and once I've completed that, I'm gonna do the alliance version. So far on the alliance i've only done about 15 minutes of questing in shadowmoon but that's about it. I have this much to say about night elves though: Wardens are in big force on draenor.
Also I heard that for the mage tower in the garrison horde for some reason doesn't know arcane and ask Khadgar and get a high elf to build it. Sounds derp considering blood elves are horde and has mastery of arcane. Is this true?
Just in case I'm gonna put this on a spoiler tag.
I was just talking about this with skree last night. This is one of the times i've been most grateful that I was in beta, because this would had ate me alive if I had made this mistake on live.
See, when you enter any new zone, first thing you do is establish an outpost, and then you gotta choose one out of two buildings to create on that outpost. The choice is more than just cosmetic, as the building provides you with a cooldown you can use for emergencies, and provides a lengthy quest-chain to do. On Gorgrond the choice was between a lumber mill, and a fighting arena. I chose the arena.
On Talador however, the choice was either a mage tower, or an armory. Since I main a blood elf, and blood elves are the only race I like even more than orcs, I obviously chose the mage tower. Much to my dismay, as soon as its constructed, I have to connect it to the ley lines, and none of my troops knows how, so I gotta......... I gotta............ #$%&...... I feel sick just writing it........ I gotta ask the @#$%ing Kirin Tor for help.
ME asking
THEM
for help.
Gimme a second while I puke.
Its absolutely stupid that this happens, because as you said, the horde has blood elves who are the supreme mages of azeroth, the ones who even taught humans how to wield magic in the first place, and Talador is the place where the majority of the blood elven forces are in Draenor. But no, having the ones who wrote the book on magic isn't enough, I gotta go and ask for help to those bastards. Disgusting.
Thankfully its not a High Elf they send to help you (that'd be the icing on the cake) its a blood elf, who for whatever reason wasn't purged like the rest. After the questchain is over he requests joining your garrison as a follower, so at least I had the pleasure of saying yes, only to kick his ass off my lawn 10 seconds later, and pretend I slammed the door on his face.
/shudder.
Thank god this wasn't done on my "official" character in the live server, who in-story has a HUGE hatred of the Kirin Tor for the dalaran massacre (For which they never apologized, nor even cared, as not a single punishment was given to the perpetrators).
TL;DR: Yes.
Its ok though, I got a chance to see a small form of justice done :P
The Everbloom is officially my favorite dungeon in the game now.
The way it goes is like this: The Kirin Tor made a small village on Gorgrond, complete with a portal to stormwind to keep funneling supplies in, but they didn't know that in the jungles of Gorgrond, there's a sapient specie of plants that are infesting other living creatures to become half-plant hybrids. Kinda like a zombie apocalypse, but with plant/fungus thingies instead of undead.
Their entire village is overrun with the infection, and the plants go ahead and insert spores in their brains that control their bodies against their will while they're still fully aware and conscious of what's going on.
The players have to go inside the dungeon and kill the bosses, as well as every single infected Kirin Tor mage to contain the infection from spreading, and the final boss actually manages to go through the portal and into a cliff overlooking the Mage Quarter of stormwind, though he never actually makes it to the city because we stop him then and there. While I hope this was not foreshadowing for the next expansion being all plant-themed, I absolutely LOVED this dungeon because I get to kill dozens of Kirin Tor =D
Sweet sweet karma.
Unless they do another character wipe, I'm fairly certain I'll complete the horde quests this week and start with the alliance next week.
Although I'm seeing something very sad and non-spoilerly about them already. U_U
I
really
hope its just due to beta being beta, but for the time being, we can't enter the temple of karabor. You can explore the outside perimeter, and what's behind and all that stuff, but all the doors leading to actually
inside
, are closed, with no way to open them.
Making Karabor nothing more than a background prop, instead of a building we can actually go inside and explore.
Like I said, I
really
hope this is just due to the beta being beta and that maybe the inside isnt' textured yet so they're saving it for later. Because if this is how its gonna go live, its gonna be one massive disappointment.

Glorious, maybe a siege of stormwind is comming up (last boss is plant chin?), though it will be tiny disapointing with the plant coruption rather than humans just being villians for once. But either way im going to love this dungeon and lauth maniacly evry time I exterminate these inbreed kirin tor mongrels.
Are there any familiar faces we get to bash in BTW?
And I think the problem with Karabor is that the black temple instance is bigger than black temple in shadowmoon and they want to make Karabor as similar to Black Temple and such. Making the inside or outside to diffrent would we wierd no?
But what of the Blood elves, is Liadrin and co skullbashing badass? Or is it hush Liadrin?

Yup, and yet despite that, she still acts like a jerk to the horde. When you go to...........*shudder*.........ask for help......... you know who.......... you do so through Khadgar, and when he's leading you to the arcane tower they use as a base, the arcane construct that guards the gate immediately tries to stop you saying that Jaina has forbade all horde from entering their premises. Khadgar overrules it saying that he's in the council too, and if jaina doesn't like it, she can take it up with him.
And that mage tower sounds like it's going to make my internal organs come out of my mouth as there won't be enought in my stomach to vomit up all my dislike.
That's more or less how I felt, so consider yourself warned dude, DO NOT pick the mage tower on Talador, for the love of all that's holy, pick the Armory. (Its totally ok to build a mage tower on your garrison though)
Glorious, maybe a siege of stormwind is comming up (last boss is plant chin?), though it will be tiny disapointing with the plant coruption rather than humans just being villians for once.
Nah, it'd be boring if it goes that way.

No familiar faces, but it doesn't matter, it was nice seeing the Kirin Tor reap what they sowed..........hehehehe "sowed" I know there's a clever joke hidden in there, given that they're killed by plants that insert seeds in their brains, but I just can't "dig it out".... xD ok I better stop.
And I think the problem with Karabor is that the black temple instance is bigger than the temple of karabor in shadowmoon and they want to make Karabor as similar to Black Temple and such. Making the inside or outside to diffrent would we wierd no?
Weird? not really. Its very plausible that the temple was smaller originally, then when the old horde took it, they expanded it. I sincerely doubt all the demonic statues on the inside were there originally. I also doubt the areas used for the harem were there either. And its puzzling because blizzard had said before that the inside of the Temple of Karabor would not be as large as the inside of the black temple. Only to then have the temple have no inside at all. Its why I'm seriously hoping this is just a case of beta being beta.
But what of the Blood elves, is Liadrin and co skullbashing badass? Or is it hush Liadrin?
Can't say for certain, I haven't met her yet, Talador is a pretty large zone. I will say that its very unlikely Liandrin is gonna be a pansy like Tyrande. She kicks some ass on the Tanaan Intro.

Perhaps there will be a raid in karabor? Or they want to preserve black temple layout and remove demon/orc/elf stuff. That might take time.

Good, good. Blizzard isn't know for a good treatment of female characters. So I was kinda afraid of what they are going to do with Liadrin, as I don't want her to be period x-treme ragoid, uber forgiving paladin who cries is raids or hush hush arm candy.

Yep, there's a council, and nope, they don't give two flying fricks about the dalaran massacre. Didn't even gave jaina a slap on the wrist, nor asked her to step down as leader, nada de nada. She just outright slaughtered and imprisoned innocent civilians and they just shrugged, because poor jaina, she's just another victim of garrosh, boo-hoo.
See why I hate her? and them? They can all go to hell as far as I care.

Ohh god, I hope not. We already have a raid in there, I wanted to see the Temple of Karabor on the inside, back when it was pristine.
Its already bad enough that I can't get to see the inside of Aunchindoun or Shattrath, because the former is a dungeon, and the latter apparently will be a raid later, but not even getting to see the inside of Karabor? that's just a low blow. I just wanted to see the big three draenei cities on the inside back when they were pristine and non-ruins T_T

Me neither, I've been seeing a concerning trend regarding that on the new Alliance character Yrel, but I may be jumping to conclusions since I've only seen like 20 minutes of her, and she supposedly grows a lot as a character over the course of the expansion and is meant to start off as naive and common.
As for Liandrin, when I get back home from work, I should be starting on her quest. Her arc is the culmination of the Talador leveling experience.

The little I have heard from Yrel is that she hooks up with Maarad and is the step(?) daughter of Velen. Good thing Maarad dies, if I heard corectly.

Actually that's no longer true. I'm leaving this out of spoiler tags because this was retconned. During the Alpha, Yrel was meant to be Maraad's lover. And it created an awkward conundrum, because "our" maraad had the Yrel of his timeline dead at the hands of the horde, but in this alternate timeline, the opposite happened, Alternate!Maraad was dead and Yrel Alive.
I guess they wanted to create this awkward romance moment where Yrel has feelings for Regular!Maraad even though he's not the same man she married, and Maraad has feelings for Alternate!Yrel even though she too isn't the woman he married.
Thank the naaru blizzard decided this was too convoluted and wholly unnecessary and got rid of the romance angle altogether.

And its puzzling because blizzard had said before that the inside of the Temple of Karabor would not be as large as the inside of the black temple. Only to then have the temple have no inside at all. Its why I'm seriously hoping this is just a case of beta being beta.
Perhaps there will be a raid in karabor? Or they want to preserve black temple layout and remove demon/orc/elf stuff. That might take time.
Can't say for certain, I haven't met her yet, Talador is a pretty large zone. I will say that its very unlikely Liandrin is gonna be a pansy like Tyrande. She kicks some ass on the Tanaan Intro.
Good, good. Blizzard isn't know for a good treatment of female characters. So I was kinda afraid of what they are going to do with Liadrin, as I don't want her to be period x-treme ragoid, uber forgiving paladin who cries is raids or hush hush arm candy.
lady liadrin is a awesome character!
