yhea =( the good'ol days, when warcraft was what I love the most, a Strategy game.
how I yearn for those days to come back, to finnaly be able to controll entire armies of soldiers, rather than 1 unit.
when to take down a powerfull enemy like say archimonde, Illidan, cenarius or antonidas, instead of being a raid leader, trying to impose order among good raiders and retards I was a comander, all units obeying their orders to the letter, no Leeroys among them ready to ruin the best laid plain in seconds.
where no sad excuse such as "my internet conection lagged" or "my gear broke" were enough to fail at an important battle.
I'm not saying I don't enjoy World of Warcraft, that would be a huge lie, but I will say that I enjoyed the Warcraft Saga as a Strategy game WAY MORE than the rpg.
i'ts just how life goes, this started as a RTS, it deserves to go back to RTS.
I just hope blizz doesn't go crazy and sacrifices Starcraft to make it some other genre, as that is their last RTS game on their production line.

You'll never guess what just happened:
Alright, I have a Grunt set. That is to say, on Nakresh, I have an Outfitter set that is identical to an Orgrimmar Grunt.
Alright, so I was walknig around Org, right? I stop in front of the AH and start dancing to attract more attention (it's no fun collecting an RP set if you can't use it... :P). Well, a couple people target me, I get a few "lol"s... You know...
And then this level 80 Orc warrior in T9.5 walks up, targets me, and then all of a sudden is also in a grunt set!
He starts dancing next to me. We spent like 20 minutes just dancing and gathering a crowd. I don't even play on an RP server, we both thought we were the only ones on the server to think of it.
Here's some pics:

Well duh... :P I went with the Bullova for accuracy (it's the same model, but slightly different skin as the axes that the grunts use), and he's using some T9 wep... :P

haha, thats awesome Skreeran. I've done just the same thing, I spent ages collecting the full grunt set for my orc shaman, and sometimes I just put it on and walk around orgirmmar (man wish I had the grunt title), and often it gets ppl stop and looking, clapping, even the odd cheer.
Man life of a grunt is sweet.

it's not easy to find matching pieces for a roleplay set......
I've wanted to create a new toon just to roleplay and goof arround when there's nothing better to do, I wanted this to be inspired by a character outside of wow.
a figure that's both heroic, but also reminicent of my spanish heritage, a latin hero if you will.
after discarding the hillarious
Chapulin Colorado
(because none would take me seriously and because I don't think there is a matching set of gear for it) I decided to go for
El Zorro
one of my favorite childhood heroes. (well, think about it, back then all heroes were americans, or english-speakers, "gringos" and I wanted a hero that speaks my language :P besides the
opening song was really epic
here is the
english version
)
the problem with roleplaying "el zorro" is first and foremost, what class is he? warrior or rogue? second, what set should I use? defias set strikes my mind, but....... dunno, the jacket used on that set looks like a bullet-proof jacket, not the light vestiment used by zorro.
for a weapon the desition is obvious, a rapier, the defias drop a nice one, too bad wow doesn't have whips, as zorro uses whips too, and pistols.
and the hat, the hat very important, I can't use a mask and a hat at the same time so I'll ignore the mask and focus on a hat, and that's the issue.
can't find a black hat anywhere.
the closest match I've found is this
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33436
but it's gray ,and it's not the correct shape (then again I'm not sure wow has a cordobes black hat with golden emblems blazoned on it)
can anyone help me out here? with the class sugestion, as well as a fitting set of clothes that resemble zorro's uniform?

Try these out rankorr:
Don Carlos' Famous Hat
Black Swashbuckler's Shirt
I'll have to do some more looking for the rest of the set. Remember, not all slots need be filled for a roleplay set.
Also, I would go with a Rogue, as Zorro was a fairly stealthy character.

Only problem with Don's hat is you need at least honoured with Keepers of Time to get into Heroic Durnhold heh.

nah, the don's hat is a mariachi hat, zorro wasn't a mariachi, he was a fencer, he used a cordobes hat, and frankly the mariachi hat wouldn't be really fitting to him.
the shirt is great though :D I'm gonna get one of those, as well as a black horse.
as for the class I think u're right, zorro was known more for his stealthy aproach using wits rather than brute strenght, so yhea rogue is the way to go.
(should I dualwield rapiers since I'll go rogue? or use 1 rapier only for a more acurate roleplay? hummmm.......)

Shouldnt be that hard to solo normal Durn at 80. You should be honored after a couple of runs, as well as doing the quests/escort.

Heh, actually, it just takes one Durnholde and one BM run to get the Heroic Key from doing the quests; Saving Thrall and Protecting the Portal, plus the 3 hour tour.

You're right about the hat, but it's the most authentic spanish-looking hat in the game, really. If people see you wearing it, and they see you in the rest of the getup, they'd be likely to think of Zorro. I don't think you're going to be able to find a proper representation of a cordobes hat.
I would go with a rapier/dagger combo to take full advantage of the rogue class while roleplaying, and also keep some authenticity. After all, what fencing-trained master swordsman wouldn't carry a main-gouche along with a rapier?

=O are there any main-gouche shaped dagger in the game? o_O if so I want one.

HiVolt
I'm sure you might be able to find one. There are a few daggers shaped like cindequas, that might serve as an alternative to a main-gouche.
