Because even if they said that, people would still be calling for it...same way they still lobby for Vanilla servers even though Blizzard has put their foot down on that.

Plus that unicorn in the center looks really out of place. Looks like a faded watermark.
Even though it looks out of place, well, it's an established fact that elven breed of horses have horns.
On the other hand, the spellbreakers were disbanded, AFAIK.
I know elvish horses have horns, but still, that specific unicorn looks out of place due to the low quality of it against the high-def of the rest of the crest. Like I said, it looks like a faded watermark. I guess the one who made that crest added the unicorn to try and say "HEY LOOK, THIS IS HIGH-ELVISH, NOT BLOOD ELF" Since blood elves use the Hawkstriders and Dragonhawks.
Also, are you sure the spellbreakers disbanded? I could swear the Silvermoon Guards are spellbreakers in lore, just not in-game to prevent "inbalancing" (Given that the other guards just melee, silvermoon guards should also just melee)
Lorthemar himself has almost all the powers of a spellbreaker.

Afraid so.
Blue post:
Q: What has become of the blood elf Spellbreakers?
A: While they were already few in number to begin with, the ranks of this formidable fighting force were thinned drastically when their headquarters on the Isle of Quel'Danas was overwhelmed by Kael'thas and his Burning Legion forces. The lone squad that remains now exists as a relic of a bygone era, as the Spellbreakers have refrained from training any new recruits since Kael'thas's betrayal.

Damn >_>
Well, the point still stands, Spellbreakers were never high-elves in the first place, but blood elves, and even though they're gone, their gear (Such as the phoenix helmet, big-ass shield, and double-bladed sword) is still used by blood elves only, not high elves.

So I guess we'll never have a chance at getting their sort of armor?
That's super-disappointing... >.>
I want that shield.... badly...

I want the whole get-up. Shield, double-bladed sword, and helmet as well.

I think there is a single-bladed version of their sword that I noticed once... A double bladed one like they have would look pretty dumb with out animations. (It honestly looks dumb when they swing it around. But you just usually don't notice in the middle of combat.)
And I am POSITIVE you can get that helmet. I'll be damned if I can remember where, but I KNOW I had it once...
EDIT: Found it!

seeing as we now officially have a
login screen
I'd say the release day is getting closer and closer. I was originally thinking it would be August, but just maybe it could end up being July.

I don't know about that Rank; still lots of bugs and other issues peppering the Beta at the moment.
Edit: Such as the current instance bug, where your character gets stuck in the loading screens; if that happened in Live, you'd know the screams would be catastrophic.

and 2 months is a ton of time to polish said bugs, I mean there's still all of June and probably a big chunk of July as well.
I initially assumed the game would be released on August since betas tend to last 5 months, so this one will probably last 5 as well, but come on, the login screen means we're getting closer. I remember how for cataclysm the login screen wasn't unveiled till blizzcon, barely a month before launch.
All in all, a lot of the content has been tested (though I admit there's still a big chunk left to test) and if anything this shows, we're moving at a solid pace. There's no way we're gonna have to wait till september. Its either Mid-July or August.

Yeah, but they still haven't fixed the bugs in 3 of the four released instances; Brewery is still messed up when it comes to loot to last boss, Shado-Pan has Jade Temple loot and Black Rock Caverns loot(yes, as in the first dungeons from Cata) in it, and the Palace hasn't been lootable and has mass screw ups since it was released. They still have 2 more regular instances to release and the updated Heroic versions of SM and Scholo to work at, as well as the raids to test out; if it keeps going like this, it'll probably keep pushing it back.
And of course, that's still leaving out the quests in Azeroth, Northrend, Outland and Pandaria still screwing up heh.

Meh, I'm starting to believe what will decide the release date is not whether or not the client is release-worthy but rather economical concerns. Aka, padding the bottom line.
Not with D3 having just come out; the shiny will go off it eventually, then they'll change focus.

nah. The last concern of blizzard ATM is money. Not only D3 was released just now, but there's also SC2's expansion planned for later this year, and MoP. Add to that a still solid subscriber base for WoW and they are pretty much set for life. Makes me wonder why did they even had to fire those 600 people a few months back.

To increase their own paychecks, of course. It's actually really simple; get the most unskilled of your workforce and fire them, that way you can raise the paychecks of everyone while remaining within the budget. I'd add "including your own" to that, but I don't think that's how it works or from how high up the order came. Maybe the official in charge of the pink slips had a relative that wanted more money? Dunno.

I just wish they got over with it ASAP and made Warcraft 4. With writers from RoC and tFT.
