I really doubt that; it will just be the Scourge 2.0, no deeper meaning then that.
Then I'm sad. I think I'll be seeing Bobby Whiskey later tonight.
Sadly, not much they can do with it other then make it a stupid set back.

Edit: Also since you know....Ner'zhul was absorbed into the Lich King long before the shade of 'Uther' appeared(honestly, I doubt it was him either; there was a tin foil hat that said the vision we saw was the good piece of Arthas trying to get out and just took a different form so that Sylvanas and Jaina wouldn't just dismiss it out of hand).
I'd actually accept blizz retconning nerzhul back into existance if it meant crushing that horrible "there must always be a lich king" idea. That and, you know, what the hell was uther's ghost doing in frostmourne when he was at his tomb in the plaguelands for vanilla and BC?
very unlikely. Blizzard isn't very fond of retcons (with good reasons, retconing sh1t pisses off fans). Besides the whole reason they did that asspull was so they could recycle the lich king for a Scourge 2.0 expansion or patch.
This is coming sooner or later. The fact that it was mentioned on Velen's side story, only confirms it that its gonna happen at some point.
In other news, now that they're done with the leader short stories (which I must say were mostly disapointments, they were either boring, pointless, or plain simply WRONG, such as the sylvannas one which has so many lore errors is near impossible to fix on canon unless we asume alternate universe took place there) maybe they can publish short stories about the people who actually deserve them.
I mean the minor characters, the ones that players have grown fond of and yet don't get that many scenes in the game. To this day my favorite short story on the blizz website is the Nobundo story. I may play a DK as my main, but at heart i'm a shaman, and that story is about as shamanistic as it gets. Truly brilliant and fantastic.
I'm hoping they get to making short stories for other minor characters such as Liandrin, Aponi, Nazgrim, Stoutmantle, Ji, Aysa, ect ect.

Wow... I check this thread and actually find a topic I was thinking of being discussed?
I was actually thinking about this with Money's new RP. The way I see it, Arthas was dead. Bolvar will die, Nerry is dead.
There is only one being: The Lich King. That is it. It all boils down to an evil entity, a god of death and undeath alike who wishes to do nothing but spread his domain endlessly.
Just sorta my thought...

That's what was said at the end of Rise of the Lich King: There was only the King, Arthas was gone and the King slaughtered Ner'zhul....and then the 'There must always be a King' and the 'goodness' of Arthas retconned that out of existence.

The goodness of Arthas coming back does seem like some BS.
But the idea of there needing to be a Lich King doesn't necessarily. Think of it this way, maybe Ghost Dad was wrong: Maybe the undead wouldn't go violent and uncontrollable. They would perhaps just make a new Lich King. Only this time, he won't be as easy to find until his plan is already going.
With Bolvar, he becomes the new LK, wakes up, we kill him, rinse, repeat. No hunting, worrying, or waiting.

Yeah the King was meant to be the merger of the two, till the retcon came out.
I'm hoping for the Northrend revamp that we'll see the remnants of this super awesome destructive of doom Scourge forces that were going to wipe out the world /roll eyes
Alright, non-sarcastic comment: I'm hoping at least we'll see where those few high ranking Scourge forces escaped too.

At best, we'll have a Lich Regent what with Bolvar likely not patterning himself after the Lich King. He could also declare himself Lord of Life and Death what with Alexstraza's breath within him.
Unless he doesn't have a choice.
There would no longer be a Bolvar. Only the Lich King.

Little question for horde players, I'm leveling another warlock, this time an undead one to learn more about the horde quest changes, though one thing confuses me.
So far, I'm almost out of Silverpine Forest, and I recall a guy saying that he had to find a way to work with a less-plague-like plague that was used in Northrend by Putress. Though from what it appears, it looks the same as the one used in Hillsbrad (again, I'm not there yet, this is basically the impression I have).
Did they lowered it potential? Or they're just bull%^&*ting Garrosh all together and doing whatever they want?
edit: grammar

For the most part, whenever Balmont and Sylvannas talk about the blight being 'watered down', they are completely BSing.

Well, rolling an undead to see things their way doesn't seem to help much. I've got no idea how they get away with all these stuff they're doing.
Plus, they used to kill Kirin Tor before Wrath (as far as I remember), and they continue to do it (I'm just slaughtering them by the dozens in Ambermill) ? Why the Kirin Tor allows them in Dalaran again?

The Kirin Tor left in Silverpine are different from the ones in Dalaran.
Those in Dalaran have become neutral, due to the Sunreavers wanting to help the Horde.
The ones in EK remain aligned with the alliance, and are hostile to all Horde factions.
As for how they get away with the stuff? Simple: It's their war. The Forsaken and Blood Elves are the Horde power in EK, so they get to fight their war their way.
For the most part, Garrosh is too busy over in Kalimdor, with his much larger war front, to go checking up on Sylvannas every day. And the people he leaves there to watch her, like Cromush, usually end up becoming just as loyal to her as the Forsaken themselves.
As for understanding them? They're a broken people, led by a broken queeen. Sylvannas and her followers had one goal in life: Kill Arthas. And Tirion went ahead and denied them that.
It broke them, and more importantly broke Sylvannas. This whole genocide of EK? It's more-or-less a temper-tantrum...

Huh... well now I understand the deal with the two kinds of Kirin Tor and some overseers even becoming loyal to her. Somehow I doubt that someone would actually start to like her, not being a forsaken, but hey, I suppose almost everyone can be tad bit broken.
I'll probably begin seeing the Hillsbrad stuff just now, I just finished the quest where Godfrey runs off, and even though I approve of him just straight out kicking undead ass all around, I see why he turns out to be hated by both sides.
Neutrality much, eh? Doesn't support anyone, but pisses off both sides.
On the thing that nobody really taxing them on their actions, I can only see that, whoever doesn't see it, doesn't end up knowing because, whoever saw it won't tell them.
